 "Lovely two week vacation. House was very comfortable and close to the beach. My 13-year-old daughter called it "our funky retro house" and meant that as a compliment. It was located just a hop and skip to the beach, shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back!! Watching the frolicking dolphins everyday as the pelicans treat us with their daily fly-overs Great location!!! Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of city life but close enough to enjoy "Historical Savannah". Another enjoyable, relaxing vacation for us to add to our memories. "Where to begin??? The Villa is absolutely wonderful and makes you feel at home immediately. The decor is a time capsule for all ages. We were blessed with great weather but even if it rained it would not stop me from having a good time. The convenience of being on the beach is perfectly made for the person who wants to save their energy for walking on the beach not getting to the beach. Sting Rays has great wings and good oyster stew. Crab Shack worth the visit especially for the kids. Food is good. Brought my medal detector and found about $3 in coins no jewelery or spanish gold. The resetting of the #1 switch a few times worked but you should still have an electrician come out and check why it keeps tripping. The sliding glass door is a challenge but it kept the grandchild from walking out to play superman. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The sunrise was perfect and at night the stars were beautiful. I wish I studied more about them in school. My wife went crazy over the decor you all did a great job. "MY OCEAN VILLA Day 1 After a 4 hour drive we finally arrived. We unpacked and went straight for the beach. We drove around and checked out the island and went to IGA for food. Day 2 We spent almost all day on the beach. At one point there were about 30 dolphins swimming "right there". Sooo cooly Went to check our the Crab Shack tonight. Great for kids Really good food Lots of rain tonight. Power went our at 1am Day 3 Power came back on about 8 30 am. Already saw some dolphins. Lots of beach time. Fished off pier and watched the shrimp boats Day 4 Captain Mikes dolphin tour was great. Say probably 100 of them. Went to Fort Pulaski - very cool Plan to go back on Saturday to see them fire the cannons. Sugar Shack!! Good Stuff!! More beach time. Big waves today Day 5 Shopping for souveniers . more beach time (love it!!) took a trip to Savannah for a spooky ghost tour. Day 6 Rain. all day rain took kids to marine science center. cute Hubby fished in the rain. napped. went to sting rays Good A night of TV (dog the Bounty Hunter is free) Day 7 Our last full day. Sad Girls went to Savannah for a trolley tour. very good Boys fished from shore. they caught multiple sand sharks wow threw them back of course Back to Fort Pulaski for a cannon firing Loud time to replax and pack up some things and visit the beach one more time aw Day 8 Off we go sad We hate to go... Overall, our visit was fantastic. My Ocean Villa was perfect for us. Love the decor- 50s, Elvis, Lucy and dishware A few things OK..am I just a blond or what? I never did see a computer for the internet. Was I supposed to bring a laptop or something? OWNERS COMMENT- OH, YES. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP. "My Sea Esta! Wow - what a wonderful place! We had 10 people - 8 adults and 2 children, and we couldn't have had a better time. The house is wonderful, the beach so close - the beach cart is invaluable. The kitchen is very well stocked with every dish, pot and utensil you could ask for. Having rented a vacation home before and not having everything we needed, we came with everything but the kitchen sink, and didn't even have to bring it all into the house. the beds were great, and decore enchanting. (Although i did throw away the dead baby crab on the table on the porch). the screened in porch is about 18 X 30' and is fantastic. Plenty of seating for the adults and plenty of space for the children to play. My daughter brought sand and othr toys for her 3 year old, but they never came out of the car since there was plenty of stuff there for the baby to play with.Thank you so much for sharing your home with us - we couldn't have had more fun! "MY BEACH HOUSE In the words of my children "this place is great". this is the first vacation that included the whole family and memories were made this week. "Uncle Bubbas" is always one of our favorite places to eat and thank goodness for Publix on Whit Marsh Island - right before the bridge to Tybee. We have eaten at Stingrays as well and the food is good. For a special breakfast try the World Famous Breakfast Club at least once during your stay. If you would like a great day of inshore fishing call catpai David Heidt Sundial Charters He put us on the fish and we cooked them outside that night. They were great. Captain Davis is great and funny The jellyfish were bad this week so go in the water during the outgoing tide. The cottage is so adorable. It was hard to leave yesterday. Please let me know if you found everything in order. We left the beach umbrella at the beach, but replaced it with a blue one – the color we thought matched the house. I hope that is not a problem. The new umbrella is a little sturdier than the one we lost. Please let me know if you have a suggestion on a rental house for us for next year. The outdoor shower was also very convenient. Ft Pulaski was very interesting especially since we went on a Sunday because they had a canon firing demonstration. We left some extra ping pong balls and charcoal for the grill since we had picked up more than we needed. The weather was great but very hot. Be sure and load up on sunscreen. "MY BEACH HOUSE My Beach House is great!!! We loved staying in it this week. The vibrant colors were certainly exciting and it's so close to the beach!!! Watch out for the stickers though. I stepped on so many of them. There are alot of great things about the area other than the beach, though. Tomorrow we are going parasailing in the morning and we visit off the island occasionally as well. Carey Hillards is an excellent family restaurant in Savannah. My Family used to eat lunch there every Sunday after church when we still lived here (my brother and I were born on Wilmington Island) We moved to Marietta when I was 4 Ryan was 5 Now we are 16 and 17 and we love this house. Basically, our entire family tree is down here in this house. We have 8 people and its perfectly comfortable. Just some other ideas Jet ski rental is a ways down the road off the island and we almost rented mopeds. The shopping is good too, especially on Broughton St - Savannah Well, most of them, at least Tybee and Savannah are my favorite places of anywhere I've been and I've been far!! "MY OCEAN VILLA Hi Everyone, We had a great time. It was worth the 13 hour drive. We saw the lighthouse Oh my gosh - it was beautiful and the steps weren't that bad. We also went on a dolphin watch. They were pretty but it was hard getting a good picture. Never walk to the gift shop - it is over a mile walk. And the dolphins have been coming closer lately. We went swimming alot. "MY BEACH HOUSE Earlier this year, my brother invited us to have a vacation with them at the Beach House on Tybee Island where we have had a great time together this week. Have gone to the beach every day where I have thoroughly enjoyed the ocean, sand and sun. We have grilled out almost every evening - even the shark and mackerel that was caught deep sea fishing and a special visit to the Lady and Sons. My Beach House met every need of home and then some. A trip I will never forget - spending time with the family. Lisa Trion, GA My Beach House was awesome. I enjoyed going deep sea fishing with Captain Brad at Amick's. My mom, dad, Asa and I caught sea bass, mother in lows, spanish mackerel and sharks. It was awesome. We went to the Lady and Sons restaurant owned by Paula Deen. If you are a chicken over go to the Lady and Sons restaurant. We wlso went to Uncle Bubba's Oyster House and Uncle Bubba is Paula Deen's brother. We went to the beach every day. It was a beautiful place. We found a hermit crab, shells and sand dollars. I hope everyon one of you get to do what I did. "MY OCEAN VILLA Thank you for a great week!! We came in on the first day of hurricane season and were not disappointed. Tropical storm Barry was passing through. We had to find it here in the dark - there was no power that first night. The waves were great though and the beach so close, nothing compares to the sound of surf. Everything was great, loved the decor, made for fun and comfort. We spent most of the time on the beach, walking, some biking, also like the deck. Perfect for afternoon visits. Our first visit to Tybee and we did The Crab Shack, Spankys and Lady and Sons in Savannah. Plenty to see and do. We really like our Ocean Villa!! The colors and all the touches were great. "MY ISLAND COTTAGE We are leaving soon and all I can say is this week has been fantastic. Recommended eating: Singrays Crab Shack The Bamboo Room, Deweys and in Savannah there are some pretty great places and candy store. Oh my gosh, good.l Also the beach is absolutely beautiful, there is actually sand and even at low tide, great sandcastle area. Recommended activities: the Sea Kayaking, marine Science Center - fiddler crabs were cute. In Savannah, we went on a ghost tour led by David Hammer, a pretty much awesome person. We went up to the top of the lighthouse and the view was worth the stairs. Rent bikes while you are here because that is the easiest way to get around the island. Going to Savannah one night for shopping. Food is highly recommended. It only rained once and that the day we left - today. We are the Stoibers from Wisconsin and there are six of us, mom and dad and a 19 year old daughter, 17 and 13 year old sons and a 3 year old daughter. Lauren, you thought of everything! My 3 year old was delighted by the stack of Little Mermaid books and all the sand toys!! One of our daily routines was to take the beach cart loaded down with chairs, an umbrella, sand toys and cooler and just sit on the beach. Heaven Tomorrow we are ging to see historical Savannah and Wednesday we are going on a dolphin boat with Captain Elizabeth, Tybee Charters. This is such a relaxing way to spend our vacation time. "MY OCEAN VILLA My daughter arranged this "mini" vacation for her and I. This year it was her turn to pick the spot - she hit the jackpot. This Ocean Villa is like stepping back to my childhood and Kim just loves the ocean view and ocean sound. We hit a couple of the local spots - AJs Dockside, Crab Shack Norased Cafe - all of them superb. We did a lot of beach walking and it never got old. The people everywhere are so friendly and helpful. Savannah is another whole story in itself. We both enjoyed that area and too much to take in - in such a short time. We both definitely plan to be back to this quiet, cozy "Ocean Villa". Make sure to take a midnight at the pier walk , lean over the edge and watch the ocean life light up in the water and watch for shooting stars. "MY COCO HUT Dear Lauren and Sally, We;ve all had a wonderful week here!! Our kids loved finding toys around every turn and it was great having so many extras on hand for the beach. We rented 2 tandem bikes from PackRat Bikes for the week and tooled all around the island. We love the whole, walkable, funky island. The beach was beautiful, easy to walk to even with with an 3 and 5 year old. Saw morning dolphins everyday, soothing warm sea water, lovely sea breezes, read lots of books, told great stories and laughed a lot. We do wish our homeowners would but push signs and laws making it illegal to gather live sanddollars. I grew up in Savannah and can remember walking Tybee beach where there were thousands of beached sanddollars. Spent last week at Hilton Head (very nice especially having our own private alligator in the channel by our deck) but***enjoyed the casualness and beachy flavor here. "MY OCEAN VILLA This was a wonderful winter beach trip. We thoroughly enjoyed "My Ocean Villa". Being pet-friendly made it a first choice. Being our first visit to Savannah and Tybee, it set the stage for many to follow. Standing in the kitchen at morning high tide and looking out the patio door made us think we were back on a cruise ship. We could see no beach and the waves were rolling right along. Visits to our favorite spots on Tybee were once again terrific. The Quarter, The Breakfast Club, Doc's The North Beach Grill all warmed us up. It was also a big weekend in Savannah, the Film Fesitval and the Telfar Artfest were great. An unannounced Shriner;s Parade complete with 2 camels had us laughing and smiling. I was lucky enough to be in this bedroom and loved it. - Last stop on a 2100 mile 8 day trek. Great bed. Great place - Grandma and Grandpa didn't have to walk the steps to go to bed - neat. - needed a box of kleenex Kitchen My Kitschy Catchy - Breakfast is awesome - Just what you need on vacation - Would have been nice to have salt and pepper shakers. The fresh flowers on the table are a nice touch. (note: added salt and pepper, now - We gave it a good workout - Pictures were so cute, How did you get them - We loved the pictures. "MY BREEZE INN Today is our last day here. We had a wonderful time. The house is really nice and comfortable. One thing we had problems with is the toilet in the master bedroom. The refil water keeps running after it is flushed. Other than that we had a wonderful time. Thank you This place is wonderful. The people, the food atmosphere and hosue were beyond great. Pirate Fest is this weekend we are excited to participate in and see the festivities. We hear the muskets in town but it is raining so we did not go. "MY OCEAN VILLA My wife (Caterine) , two daughters (Paige and Jayden) and Paige's best friend (Angie) had a wonderful time!!! As my 8 yr old, Jayden, said "most amazing trip ever".... The girls chased crabs at night on the beach, watched dolphins in the morning and rode the waves in the afternoon. There is no need to mention the "Ocean Villa" as it met all our needs. What really needs to be noted is all the little details which makes this trip special. Like the beach toys and chairs, the kite in the closet, the CDs and never having to do without because you already had it ere. One special note from Angie: "Don't run screaming from a crab and drop your cell phone in the ocean - it won't work again" This trip was way past due (especially after the Dawgs lost to Tennessee!!) "My Breeze InnThis was a wonderful vacation. We have taken our children to Disney and a lot of other places but they loved Tybee Island. We could not have asked for a better place to stay while there. The house was perfect!! It is walking distance to the beach, the main shopping area and some great places to eat. We were there during the Pirate's Fest weekend. We were able to sit in the front yard to watch the parade. We even met some people from the neighborhood and they were all very nice. It could not have gotten better! Everything we needed to function was in the house. All we had to buy was groceries. We are actually planning to visit Tybee once a year. "MY TWIN ARBORS Thanks, Lauren! I really had a great time on Tybee and it was the highlight of my summer. Gina & I have trouble getting off work at the same time. Not promising you won't hear from me. I'm working on drumming up support for a visit with other friends and co-workers. :) If I can work it out, you'll have to come out and have a cocktail with us. I went to a bar there that had killer chicken wings and raw oysters. I think the Quarters? A beach, great wings and raw oysters. There is nothing more to life for me. "MY COCO HUT What a wonderful place! Though my wife and I have visited Tybee in the past, this definitely was our best visit. Our 7 month old son learned how to crawl forweard. Our almost 23 month old daughter had a ball with the toys - especially the Coco Cola table and chairs. Our dog had a wonderful time running around and exploring the backyard. Not to be outdone, my wife and I had a marvelous time as well. As far as activities and places, Sundae Cafe has a marvelous menu and staff. Dolphin Magic Tours in Savannah leaves something to be desired. For those with an interest in history, Fort Pulaski and the Tybee Lighthouse are both quite interesting. Beware of mosquitos at the Fort, however. Bug spray is a must. The amenities exceeded our expectations and we will recommend this and other "My Beach House" properties to those we know. "MY BREEZE INN We're the Cowling Family from England. We have two kids (Lottie 1 and Milly 2) We have had a wonderful time on Tybee and My Breeze Inn has been lovely. It is really homey and we have settled in very well. The food has been fabulous, the people really welcoming and the weather lovely and hot. We loved the beach, too. We had all the things we needed but maybe it would have been helpful for us foreigners if there was a little booth of information What to put in which trash bin and where the clothes line is and where the local playground is. We loved the food at Dewey's and Stingrays was good food and very child friendly. We also ate at Firefly in Savannah - fab omelletes and great breakfasts at The Breakfast Club too We did try grits as well The blinds in kids room and lounge need repairing. It is decorated just great and very well stocked with anything a vacationer could need. The sunrise and sunsets just cannot be beat. We thoroughly enjoyed the Crab Shack and AJs, When you don't want to go out or cook - Its vacation!! go around the corner and get the Burger Platter from Sugar Shack. We also tried Dolphin Reef. It weas ok at best. Do not get soft shell crab at Stingrays. Once again, we truly had a great time and to be a repeat renter. "MY BREEZE INN Let me first just say thanks you. Sally, you were just wonderful every single time we spode. I know (I am in property management also - so I can relate) that everyday it seems like you have to deal with at least one problem customer and I tend to be that customer quite often Sometimes I have a gazillion questions and wierd situations, (hence, false alarm and 911 hang-up that was womehow made from the phone that was sitting right in front of me on the table and not even being used...hey, wait and see, maybe it's not just Savannah that's haunted) but Sally, you were still always delightful and a pleasure to deal with. I truly love the house. and... I honestly love Tybee. Everything you two have set up here was perfect. The supplies were more than enough and much more than I expected. Hospitality must really live here in the south. The furnishings were fantastic also by the way. Lord knows the only reason I still live in Pittsburgh is because I haven't been able to afford to move down this way...yet. Who knows. with the way you guys treat and accommodate people, your business is bound to grow. Maybe I'ss call sometime in the future and hit you up for a job. By then maybe you'll need a bigger staff. The island is beautiful. I whished I didn't have to go home. Plus I gotta say, Savannah is awesome too. Even when I was little I liked it better down here than up north. The kids and the puppy dog all loved the place, too and all felt right at home. Thank you so much for allowing us to bring him - the dog. I would have been a nervous wreck if I would have needed to leave my dog behind. He almost never leaves my company. He even works with me. "MY ISLAND COTTAGE The Blumer family really enjoyed our visit, Unfortunately, Moses, the dog only got to go swimming once as there is nowhere for a sweet Golden Retriever to do the doggie paddle. It would have mad the trip more memorable. We loved the house and enjoyed having plenty of room. We wish the restaurants were more varied but this Jersey Girl enjoyed Vinnie's Pizza. Exotic flavors 1405 butler Avenue - next to The Dunes - Crab Shack - feed alligators - have your friends watch you on a live web cam at wthe crabshack make sure to get local shellfish such as shrimp and blue crabs - the rest is ok. It's really fun for kids - Jepson Art Center in Savannah rocks - The Breakfast Club - seems like a locals breakfast spot - we enjoyed it. - We also purchased fresh caught shrimp at Lazaretto Creek Marina - Captain Miles's /they were cleaning it while we waited - very fresh. FAVORITE: TYBEE Island Marine Science Center - took Beach Discovery Walk with a 2 yr old and 6 yr old. It was perfect. We learned about local sea life in a hands-on way 2ND BEST Cpt Mike Dolphin Tour Very affordable $15 adults $8 kids Group Tour - one house (we went a bit longer) We saw over 75 dolphins - several babies. I will add though, we follow shrimpers. The dolphins appeared to be quite familiar with the system - even following boats into the channel and jumping out of the water to catch scrap from the boats. "MY COCO HUT My Coco Hut is well stocked and cute. The DVD players are a great idea and so is the grill. We had a great week on Tybee. The backyard is very shadey and we liked the dolphin tour. "MY TYBEE BLUE We had a great time in the beautiful cottage. The colorful interior and exterior are sure to make anyone smile. Be sure to load up on lots of bug spray for the Cabana. Other than that, we loved the outdoor addition and plan on building a similar structure at our house in SC. The only suggestions we have are maybe some accent pillows for the futon and some citronella for the backyard. Other than that, nothing could be improved. Thank you so much. "MY COCO HUT My Coco Hut is so well stocked the only thing you need to bring is your swimsuit and flip flops. The kitchen has everything you could possible need., The location is perfect - quiet, but ver easy walk to the beach, beach is out of the "commercial area" which we liked. AJs Dockside is perfect for a simple meal on the water - you always catch sight of dolphins while you eat. Highly recommend renting bikes for at least 2 days - easy way to get around the island. The property is sxtremely clean and very cheerful Thanks Jenny and Ni |
