"I and my 7 friends ( 4 young couples) had an amazing time at the Lake house on the New Year's weekend. It was already our second stay. Paul and Anne thought of everything you could possibly need to make you feel like at home. We could experience the hot tub, play games and relax by fireplace. We would recommend that place to everyone. You won't regret it. We hope to come back again." - Ruslana, , 01/03/2012 (HomeAway Review)
"My friends and I had a wonderful long weekend here! There is plenty of room for three couples with a great balance of privacy for every one and many activities and room for group gatherings." - Em, , 01/02/2012 (HomeAway Review)
"My friends and I stayed here for the weekend and had an amazing time. We enjoyed the location...I mean its right on the lake. The hot tub is great for destressing. We had all we needed and the house is in pretty decent shape. Only complaint is that we wished we could have stayed longer." - jazz, , 12/19/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"The house is very comfortable, had all the amenities we wanted, and the owners are very friendly and accessible. We hope to stay again!" - angela, , 11/29/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"The Forest Lake home was much more than we expected! The photos do NOT do the home justice! The owners have made the home very welcoming and thought of every little detail - from hand-written welcome notes to the MANY things for every age group to do while there. The lake is small, but, very pretty and relaxing - we kayaked, canoed and peddled ourselves all around! Every inside amenity is available and our whole family (8 adults, 3 children) had our own bed and room to do as we liked, without tripping over each other! This home is a terrific place to spend time and forget about the "real" world!!! Thanks so much for renting your home to us!!!" - Owner Submitted Review, , 10/11/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"This was one of our most memorable vacations. There's so much to do without leaving the property!Everything you need is there, and if you want a day out, there's many places to go that are just a short drive away. We drove to Keene for an afternoon - great shopping! We spent most of our time on the back deck by the water. My first time kayacking! Beautiful small lake with a sandy bottom. My husband fished every day, with great success. Very nice cottage - hope to go back next summer." - Louise, , 09/22/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"My husband, myself and our 10 mo old daughter were fortunate enough to come across this listing for our family vacation. First off, speaking with Paul was a breeze. He was very courteous and friendly. The home itself is gorgeous! What a great location on the lake. Abundant amenities to say the least.. they have everything you could possibly need, from books galore, games, bikes, ping pong, kayaks, canoe, paddleboat, fire ring, hammock, 3 decks, and a great little hot tub!! The home has a great kitchen, 2 separate living areas, a fun sunroom for kids etc. House was clean and well maintained, great owners to deal with. The description they provide is spot on, although the photos do not do the home justice. We would definitely recommend this property to families, couples, girls weekends etc. It is very suitable to all. We hope to return in the future!" - Amy, , 09/20/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"My husband, in-laws, cousins & aunts & uncles had the most wonderful time. The house was big and well kept. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable and fun. Sitting on the 3 decks looking at our own private dock and gorgeous view of the lake, it was truly a "little piece of heaven". So peaceful and relaxing, we could not have picked a better place to enjoy our family time together. The kids enjoyed the lake everyday and the adults appreciated the hot tub!! The house had everything we had hoped for. We will definitely be back!!!!!" - seeking_r&r, , 09/08/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"My girl friends and I rented the house for a weekend getaway. It was absolutely perfect! We never even left the house. There was plenty to do durning the day, from sunning on the dock to taking out the canoe and paddle boats, to reading in the hammock. At night the large dinning table and ample couches in the living room provided space for some wine, board games, and karaoke. The house itself is gorgeous and has amazing views of the lake. We all said we would love to come back again!" - Jen, , 06/06/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"My son and I spent his Spring break here. We had a wonderful time, even tho there was very little 'Spring' to the break...cold and rainy, even a little snow. And yet, the house was cozy, we rode bikes through the woods, read, and had ping pong competitions. It was relaxing, fun, and--despite the weather--just what we needed. Paul and Anne are wonderful hosts; gracious and accommodating. The house, overlooking a lake, is delightful." - Owner Submitted Review, , 04/27/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"My husband and I stayed here for a time starting in the fall and into early spring. It is a very nice, comfortable and fun place to stay. Fishing was great in fall and winter months. The owners have a awesome array of equipment for use by their guests for summer and winter activities. There is plenty of everything for everyone, young and old to keep you entertained! The owners are wonderful to work with and very helpful and willing to work with you and your needs. My husband and myself highly recommend this place to everyone. I promise you that you will not regret it and will want to return time and time again. Enjoy, We have! Thank you Mr and Mrs Harris!" - Feral, , 02/27/2011 (HomeAway Review)
"My husband and I spent Thanksgiving weekend here and had an amazing time! Paul and Anne have thought of everything! Paul was even nice enough to call me on Thanksgiving day to make sure that we had everything we needed. There is plently of activities in the area for all ages. The house is large with plently of room to relax and enjoy the lakefront view. I would recommend this wonderful home to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in a comfortable inviting house. My only regret is not being able to stay longer! I will definatly be coming back for many years to come!" - Owner Submitted Review, , 11/29/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"A home away from home!! Paul & Anne Harris have thought of everything and go to every extent to make their guests feel wanted and welcomed. Our 1st "annual" Girls Weekend Away couldn't have been more perfect. Although the girls and I had every intention of taking full advantage of most of the outdoor amenties, bicycles, paddle boat, and canoe, we opted for relaxing, enjoying the view, playing board games, kicking back to watch a movie, and of course the hot tub! The Harris' provide tons on information regarding the local area, sometimes making decisions on where to go/what to do difficult to chose between! The house is warm and cozy. Everywhere you look you discover something new. Not cluttered at all, but full of intersting, useful, whimsical, comfortable decor.Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. We can't wait to go back!!The Harris' are first class hosts. They are available to help in any way, and communication is active before, during and after your stay." - Alex, , 10/08/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"My husband and I stayed here 9/18-9/20 for our 2nd Anniversary. We had a great time and would defiantly come back. Pisgah State Forest is 5mins down the road and you can spend hours in there just looking at all the beautiful scenery. Forest Lake was stunning, we took a kayak ride at 9am and it was so peaceful and beautiful. Our dogs absolutely loved it! The house itself has so much to do, we couldn't believe everything they had available for the people who stay there. You couldn't possibly get bored here. Thank you Paul and Ann for sharing your home!!" - Kelly, , 09/25/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"08/14/10--08/21/10 I stayed here with my children and grandchildren and we were all in agreement "It was the best vacation ever" to quote my grandchildren Tristan, Oliver, Madeleine, Zoe, and Evangeline. We all enjoyed the amenities that Paul and Anne provided, especially the kayaks, air hockey,ping-pong, bad mitten and the Hot-tub. The place was very well kept and Paul was helpful with any questions we had before and during our stay. I would definately recommend Paul and Anne,s home." - plunger, , 08/23/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"We stayed the week of July 31 2010. Our 2 families combined for a total of 12 adults (18 & over) and 3 dogs, never did we complain of being over crowded. There was something for everyone to do, the dock was a great place to catch the sun, the multiple boats provided entertainment for some, while the TV with ALL sports & movies, wireless internet and the great views on the deck, provided entertainment for the rest. Everyone had something they enjoyed to do. Watching our 4 college age boys play king of the floating dock was most enjoyable. Having a full kitchen with dishwasher provided for a great experience of home cooked meals with easy clean up. Being able to recycle meant a lot for a "green" thinking family. The only thing to consider would be the many steps up & down to the lake, we didn't have a problem, but my father in law's visit kept him on an upper deck. Paul & Ann couldn't have been more personable, leaving a note & bowl of fresh fruit to welcome us. We hope to return every other year as our family grows!Thank you again from both of our families! Pictures don't do it justice" - Meg, , 08/14/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"We spent 4th of July weekend here and had a wonderful time. The weather was rather hot, so we spent most of our time in the lake. It was beautiful - clean and warm water. It was great to have so many toys - floats, kayaks, paddle boat, and canoe. The kids all learned to paddle and to fish. My husband loved all the nearby golfing. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've had. The house is very nice and Paul and Ann provide all the amenities needed." - Diane, Massachusetts and North Carolina, 07/17/10( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)
"We just spent a week relaxing, reading, fishing, boating, and sunbathing here at the Forest Lake house. It could not have been more pleasant. The house feels like home, so much so we hardly left except to buy more groceries. Everything else you could possibly need or want is there. Paul and Anne have done a tremendous job of providing for any contingency, and are readily available to answer any questions. We will definitely return next summer after another year of teaching." - Owner Submitted Review, , 07/01/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"Our stay here on forest Lake was amazing. We stayed for over a month for work. We brought our motorcycles up which the garage came in handy for storing them. The riding in the area was outstanding. The house has every amenity that you can imagine. The owners were very accomadating, willing to do anything to make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend staying in this lake house." - Owner Submitted Review, , 06/09/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"Paul and Ann are wonderful hosts and very helpful. We've stayed at their homes twice now and have been extremely pleased with each property that we visited with our boys and dogs. It's so nice to be able to get away with the whole family and stay in homes with full amenities and close to lots of activities, yet in quiet locations both on lakes. The full kitchen allowed us to cook at the house and meant not running out for every meal! We highly recommend the larger families or groups and certainly anyone with pets. I hope to visit again!" - htp135, , 02/26/2010 (HomeAway Review)
"Paul and Ann...many thanks for your wonderful home to have our weekend retreat. It was so beautiful waking to the calm of the lake and sitting in the dining room scrapping and enjoying our friends with the setting sun. It was easy for all of us to get to with all the comforts of home." - Cid58, , 11/22/2009 (HomeAway Review)
"This home was perfect for my group of 6 this weekend. All the comforts of home and then some made it very easy to be there with room enough for everyone. The decor of the home was also fun haveing little things tucked in every nook and cranny! An adventure in every corner. The hot tub was a bonus this time of year. The close proximity to grocery, harware store, pharmacy, gas etc makes it very convenient while still feeling like a get-away place. Very serene view of the lake with the morning sun coming in to awaken your soul. The sunset was amazing and added to the ambiance! Try this house out and I promise you'll want to come back! Thank you Paul and Ann for opening your home to us- can't wait for the next weekend!" - dmaderacm, , 11/08/2009 (HomeAway Review)
"Spent Columbus weekend at The Lake House and had a wonderful time. The weather was so nice we were able to use the paddle boat and canoe. "Paul and Anne! We can't thank you enough for letting us share in your beautiful home. We had an amazing time on our honeymoon at Forest Lake. The house was gorgeous and there was SO much to do. All the little "extras" you have to make people feel at home are awesome. We can't wait to come back next summer (when we can enjoy SWIMMING in the water, as it was a little cold this time!) and we will be recommending your place to EVERYONE we know! "Dear Paul and Anne... Though we live on beautiful Cape Cod, it is always such a treat to escape to the mountains for a week away. Your "retreat house" is a perfect spot for doing just that! With all the comforts (and more) of home, along with a lakeside dock equipped with kayaks and a canoe, the big hot tub after a swim, and a cozy firepit area for an evening gathering, who could want for more? My only complaint was that our week flew by much too quickly!! Thanks for sharing your home-in-the-hills with all of us!" - The Bergstrom's, South Yarmouth, MA, 09/02/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Paul and Anne, We had a fantastic time in your home on Forest Lake. My husbands family came with us - three generations total and a good time was had by all! The house has everything you could ask for and seems just to emit good karma. Some family members stayed longer than planned just because of the good vibes. "This is our second stay at your wonderful Forest Lake house. The first was 12/20-30/2008 and was better than described on your website. Great to be back in NH after 5 years in FL. Lucy, the dog, loved the snow. We just completed our second stay at Forest Lake before, during and after our daughter's wedding at Wilson Pond in Keene. The minute I walked through the front door I felt a peace and calm come over me and felt that all wedding plans and expectations would fall into place, and they did!!! Even the weather cooperated. Our family has decided that we will definitely be "renter repeaters" whenever possible. Thank you Paul and Anne for your wonderful home and your attention to detail. We lacked for nothing. It was great to see everything leafed out and green as opposed to covered in snow back in Dec '08. Beautiful any time of the year. We can't wait to come back! "A wonderful get-away. We stayed for three nights and wished we could have stayed for longer. The house is tucked away in New Hampshire alongside a beautiful lake. The house had just the right amount of space for our 3 couple group, though we could have comfortably fit more. We loved the great cathedral ceiling living room/dining area. There is a fully functional & stocked kitchen--we made all of our meals there plus one on the outdoor grill. The outdoor hot-tub was a fun spot, and easily fit 6 peeps. The lake itself entertained us for hours, cayaking/canoeing/paddle-boating. The place is private enough that you have your own space, but is not so remote that you never see neighbors. It was just right for us. Paul & Anne (the owners) were also very responsive to any questions/concerns we had, and were very helpful in all phases of the rental. We hope we can make it back." - Heidi, Boston, MA, 06/03/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We've rented many places over the years and this one was the best -- by far! Our 15 yr. old son loved making fires in the wood stove. The kids' room was a God send with their own tv and vcr. Our kids also loved the ping pong, darts and air hockey in the basement. We took the kayaks out a couple of times and the paddle boat. The whole property was beautifully decorated, very inviting and very cozy. We felt completely at home and will definetly return; perhaps when the weather is a little bit warmer." - Laurie Maloney, Stratford, NJ, 04/15/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We had a wonderful time at the house! We weren't sure it would be as good as described on-line, but it certainly was. The British members of our group commented many times on how wonderfully "kitted out" the place was. We were two couples, two six-year-olds and a teenager and there was more than enough space and things to do for all of us, despite the fact that it rained much of the time. When it wasn't raining we had a wonderful time taking the boats out on the lake. We would love to come back in other seasons. We also wanted to mention how much we appreciated the fact that you compost and recycle. Those are things that are important to us as well." - Lianna and Brian, Boulder, CO, 04/11/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Paul & Anne, Thank you so much for a wonderful October weekend. This house was the perfect place for four friends to cozy up by the fire, wine and dine, hike, canoe, swim (yes, we took a cold dip!), lounge in the hot tub, listen to some good music, read and reconnect. "We just returned from a weeks stay at the Harris' lake home and had a great time. We have a niece who lives in Keene, NH and chose this property to be close to her. We enjoyed our stay the home is warm and inviting and large enough so that everyone could have their own "space". The fall foilage was goregous we explored the Cannon Mountain area, went "backroading" through Vermont and spent a day in Gloucester, Mass where we went on the 7 Seas whale watching adventure...fabulous time with over 50 whales sighted that day! "Paul & Anne - The Forest Lake house was more than we could have expected. We sent other family members up first as our son was competing in the Little League World Series. We called to see if they made it and the response was a resounding you are going to love this place. The kids enjoyed the lake so much that my brother in law hardly saw them. When we arrived 4 days later I was pleasantly suprised with everything. I couldnt ask for a better end to our summer other than Shelton Winning the World Series but the smiles on the kids faces when we told them we were coming back in 2009 made it all worth it. Thanks again for your well wishes and sucha fabulous home. See you in 2009." - Nick & Jen Searles, Shelton, CT, 08/25/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"my husband is a very picky person. he doesn't like to go out to eat because he cooks better than anybody (so he thinks and who does the clean-up?) so when we arrived at this house he was pleasantly surprised. it had everything he needed to feel like home.(even spices) we will be booking another stay soon. its bigger than the pictures show and if the pink walls offend they are no longer there. it is wonderfully decorated and you feel comfortable no matter what room your in. its a great place to stay thank you paul and anne. see you next yr." - judy and henry baker, w. yarmouth, ma, 05/24/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"If, like we did, you are reading these comments to help you decide whether to take a chance on this rental, think no more! Paul and Anne have provided a friendly, warm, beautiful, and incredibly relaxing place to stay. We have stayed twice and will go back. It was too early in the season for swimming, but sitting in the hot tub gazing at the sun (or moon) setting on the lake surely cured what ailed us! And a special feature, for us, is that they welcome pets. Being able to bring our dog with us on vacation made us all happy. Plus, being so close to Keene is fun, because it's a college town so has quite a variety of fun places for dining and shopping." - Mary & Mike Gladue, 04/30/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Paul & Anne - What a great find! Your house was the perfect place to enjoy a week away with family. We were celebrating my parent's 40th anniversary & our 1st anniversary. Great days & nights hanging by the hottub, going for a canoe ride, fishing, walking, sitting in front of the outdoor fireplace, cooking great meals.... It was all just so easy - which was exactly what we all needed! Thanks again!" - Tricia & Joost van Brakel, Norwalk, CT, 10/16/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Anne & Paul, Our week was just wonderful at Forest Lake! The house was fantastic, roomy, well-equipped and cozy. We enjoyed swimming, boating and site-seeing in the surrounding towns. The daily bike rides through the neighborhood and ice cream at "Ricks" was a real treat! But, I have to say, our Yellow Lab, Sophie had the best time of all! Seeing her dive off the dock and fall asleep while we paddled her around the lake in the canoe was priceless! Thanks again for wonderful memories, we hope to return again soon." - Laura & Rob Totaro, Chester, NY, 08/29/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Paul and Anne, We would like to thank you for letting us stay at your wondeful home. We were a little nervous at first because our children have never vacationed at a lake. What an unforgettable experience we had. We only had 1 day of rain, the rest ot the week was beautiful. There was so much to do and we tried to fit everything in. My son Brandon who is 8 got to fish for the first time and was so excited. My daughter Melissa who is 13 kayaked around the whole lake 3 times while we were there. Your home was so comfortable; you truly have put a lot of extra care toward making sure that everything is available for your guests. My daughter and I took a long bike ride one day and saw other homes on the street. Your home is definitely the nicest one around. For anyone considering this home, you won't be disappointed; this house is truly a gem. A name we thought up for your home is THE FORESTLAKE COMPOUND. Thank you again!" - Susan and Glen Corey, Foxboro, Ma, 07/31/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Paul and Anne, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home that my family enjoyed. It was truly lovely. There was so much stuff that anyone could want or need we played a game during the week that we wanted to share with you. We decided that the first person who came up with something they needed that you didn't have at the house (my sister added in duplicate or triplicate) got a prize! Now we thought my mother had won. Mid-way through she needed a needle and thread and although I looked everywhere I couldn't find one. I had one in my travel kit so she got to fix her shorts and win the game!!! The next night I was making a fruit salad and looked for a "melon baller" for the watermelon. I couldn't find one of those either. All through dinner I bemoaned the fact that I could have won if I had only planned on the fruit salad earlier than Mom broke her zipper. Well, the last day, when we were packing to leave, I checked the night stand in the blue bedroom to see if I had left anything and lo and behold if it wasn't a sewing kit in the draw! I whooped and hollered as if I had just won mega bucks! Mom was stripped of her title and prize and I became the new victor. Thank you so much for everything. It was an absolutely fabulous vacation for us! Lucie " - Lucie Swain, Chocorua, NH, 07/15/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"This is a wonderful house to stay at. You walk in and immediately feel like one of the family. There are notes around to make your stay as comfortable as possible -- as quickly as possible. Plus, with the fully-outfitted kitchen, water toys, and other recreational amenities, there's something for everyone. There were only 2 of us, and our dog, but there's room for many here. The house is unique, the floorplan is unique, and Paul and Anne have a fun and comfortable way of decorating it. The house is private enough to be quiet and wind-down, but centrally located enough to find places to go. I'd highly recommend this house to anyone and hope to come back for a bigger family reunion in '07." - Karen, S.Salem, NY, 09/06/06( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"being their was like finding a new discovery everyday. There were odd toys (binocular glasses) and books of all kinds (scary campfire stories---"wheres my toe?")even funny toilet humor found in the bathroom.Behind every cabinet door, in every drawer was a cute sticky message like a tip on how to make an all natural furniture cleaner,or a note of how to make the surround sound pipe through the whole house,or just a heads up note on where to find some nightcrawlers. These people put alot of thought into what their guest would enjoy and you feel so welcome as if your encouraged to enjoy all they have all the way down to the sexy cleaning atire when its time to vacume a spill. It was just wonderful.it would be hard to find a place so welcoming with such wonderful trustworthy owners.Definately a hard find now a days. It's worth every penny and believe me i'm picky.....You will surley be pleased...." - janet hadlock, 06/06/06( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Paul and Anne, Thank you for sharing your wonderful, cozy, beautiful home with us! Your home had everything anyone could possibly want or need. My husband and I have a 7-year old son who was in heaven from the moment we arrived! He enjoyed fishing, fresh water clamming, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and YES even swimming in the lake - brrr!! The weather was just perfect all week - sunny and mid 70's. What more can you ask for in April? We enjoyed our daily black lab visitor, Jasper, who put our little dachsoodle, Molly, to shame with his super-hero ball fetching in the lake techniques! We truly appreciate your understanding in allowing Molly to join us on vacation - it really makes everything more enjoyable not having to worry about that. Your house is such a perfect retreat - everything the doctor would order and more - quiet, peaceful and so relaxing - we so enjoyed our stay! The jacuzzi was our place to be in the early evenings - ahhh! You think of everything. The free long-distance phone calls "rock" as our son says! He was able to call his Gram in CT three times/day! Thank you too for your phone calls and for letting us know about "turtle island". It was awesome! Never have we seen so many wild turtles! We ventured there twice, docked the boat there, and walked all over - our son just loved these adventures! We did have to dispose of his shoes afterwards - a bit muddy to say the least! Funny though how my husband and I managed to stay clean!) It was great to meet you before we left! We also appreciate you letting us stay on into Friday afternoon - it gave us so much extra time. What more can we say except how soon can we reserve for April, 2007??!! Thanks again Paul and Anne! ""ONE SIZE FITS ALL" - If you are reading these comments to help you decide if this is a good place to stay I can tell you that I am one picky customer and I, and my guests, were very happy with this vacation choice. You know the amenities from what the owner shares in the description. Now, I'll tell you what you don't know...This is not one of those cottages you see on the internet that has another similar cottage 2 feet away; this is a private home, and it is one of the nicer ones in the area. There is so much to do it is difficult to choose. The layout of the property is one that suits many people with many interests, at the same time. I have not spent this much time playing in the water since I was a kid. On the other hand, I was wishing for rain so I could cuddle inside. The magazines, books, cds and dvds are recent and you actually want to view them! The house has a lot of character and is fun to be in. I know, years from now, my guests will say, "Hey, remember the time we stayed at the house on the lake? I really enjoyed myself...." And THAT is the measure of success." - Susan & Maureen Monahan, West Roxbury & Brockton, MA, 09/26/05( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Comment Text: We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay! The house literally has everything you could ask for (sometimes several of a given item!) The configuration of the house was perfect for extended family (4 adults, 3 children) as one could always find a corner to get away from the crowd. Our kids loved the sleeping porch, as it was like having their own getaway, with a view of the lake! The lake was wonderful for swimming. With the combination of shallow water (that extends fairly far out) and the deeper water around the dock, our kids could play in the water all day, as well as swim or jump off the dock. It really worked well for swimmers of differing skill levels. We drove to many of the small towns around, checking out numerous ice cream stores, and some of us climbed Mt. Monadnock. But mostly, we just enjoyed hanging out in such a beautiful place. An idyllic vacation. " - Jeanne Cole, Chicago Illinois, 09/15/05( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"I barely know where to start. This place FAR surpasses what you see & read here. Every word is to the ‘T”. The call from Paul shortly after our arrival was truly a wonderful touch and just the beginning of what we were to discover. A welcome 'guest instruction book', everything perfectly labeled, the movies (vcr/dvd), cds, books, games, toys, pots/pans, utensils, the grills, fishing rods, bikes/little tot toys, hot tub, boat collection more than exceeded our expectations. Not to mention the menus, maps, ‘things to do’ brochures. We were limited with our outings due to the dog but so thoughtful. It was so great to go on a vaca with our dog (beagle)---she absolutely loved it---except for the lake (she's a city girl). Meeting Roz was an added pleasure---the housekeeper, warm friendly, very nice. We had friends up for 2/3 days (a couple like us, early 40’s with their 2 year old and another friend with his 19 year old daughter and best friend) and EVERYONE had something to do. IT was amazing! We all (and I mean all of us exc. The 2 yo) loved reading the previous guest comment books and strived to come up with a name for the house----with no real success but we all pretty much had the same adjectives: amazing, incredible, peaceful, tranquil, retreat, oasis, fun, interesting, serene--- my suggestion was “Nestled Niche” ---I could go on. For the owners: thoughtful, GENEROUS, detailed and obviously very proud of their home! The fresh flowers on the table, seemingly a small touch, were really enjoyed. I recut/watered them every 2 days and they still looked good when we left this morning :-(. Can't wait to come back---hopefully 8/06. Thanks again for a truly wonderful enjoyable, relaxing vacation." - Paula, Everett MA, 06/25/05( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Thanks to the Harris family for sharing your beautiful home with us. Our family had a great time at the lake. There is so much to do at the house that you don't need to leave. Everyone enjoyed the boats, swimming and fishing in the lake. The water was clean and refreshing on those humid days. We were lucky to have all great sunny days with only a couple thunder showers at night. The book and movie collection kept everyone entertained in the evening. I could go on and on about everything we enjoyed. Just pack your clothes, food, sheets and towels!! This place has everything. Thanks for making our first family vacation rental a great experience. The Harris' are great people to work with! Thanks from the Bazzano Family" - Anonymous, 06/13/05( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"If your looking for a relaxing vacation, Paul and Anne's vacation home on Forest Lake is the place to go. My fiance and I had a great time. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub outside and looking at the beautiful view of the lake. Enjoyed all the activities to do right there at the house like fishing on the dock, playing ping pong and darts downstaires, and trying on the crazy hats. A great selection of books to look threw and read one on the hammack outside. Thank you Paul and Anne for a wonderful vacation, can't wait to go back next year." - Anonymous, 04/26/05( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful vacation rental. We were there in the COLD month of Feburary and we were very impressed by how comfortable our stay was. From the surround sound to the gas fireplace, this rental had everything to offer and more. The photos posted on the web don't do it justice, you really have to see it to believe it! No matter what time of the year you stay, this rental has everything you will need for a relaxing get away!" - Joy Lootsma, Deep River, CT, 03/24/05( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Our week at the Harris home on Forest Lake was incredible. The atmosphere of the house itself was relaxing and so very comfortable. Nothing was missing. Sitting in front of the fire and listening as the Red Sox won the World Series was an added plus! We enjoyed fishing almost everyday and was very pleased with our catch -- the rainbow trout was delicious!! The hiking in the Monadnock region was great...the scenery breathtaking. The area also had many very good restaurants which we enyoyed. We thank Anne and Paul for the use of their "hidden treasure" and look forward to returning again. "We had an incredibly wonderful and relaxing vacation at the Harris' lake home. Even though it was cool and/or rained for three days, it gave us time to enjoy the stock and variety of DVD's and books. Loved being right on the lake and especially the lake view! Coming from the city, it was wonderful to just sit in the peacefulness and truly comfortable home. We loved going out on the lake in the rowboat on our last day. It was also great to be able to go down to the main street library and check email. Having a crib was great for our infant (and nice that we didn't have to lug one from CA). For some reason, we also enjoyed cooking while there--I'm thinking it was because we had more time and the beautiful kitchen inspired us. Again, all the little extras such as coffee, detergent, sugar, free long distance and fishing bait, made our stay more comfortable and convenient. We really felt welcomed and cared for by the Harris'. You could tell that they weren't just trying to make money, but also really enjoy having others use their vacation home. I just wish we were closer so that we could rent their home more often." - Pat and Lynette, Los Angeles, CA, 10/15/04( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We enjoyed staying in your beautiful house. It was a very relaxing week; our first alone time in all too long. While it was too cool to go in the lake, we enjoyed simply sitting on the dock catching some rays. In the evenings, the gas fireplace made whatever we did--read, watch tapes/DVD's, or ...-- much cozier. You were right about FAT CHANCE ANTIQUES. It's not to be missed and the prices are almost too good to be true. The Pickle Festival was a "dilly" of a good time. We feel fortunate to have been here for it. It was an unexpected bonus. We highly recommend the BLUE BIRD RESTAURANT. Not only is it very close to the house, but the menu is extensive, the food and service excellant, and the prices very reasonable. We hope to have the opportunity to return at some future time." - Sam & Carol Bricker, Smithsburg, MD, 09/28/04( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"9/3/2004 What a great week my family had at your lake house. My sister & I decided no more usless x-mas gifts for my elderly parents. We pitched in a rented the lake house, there is something there for everyone. Everyday was spent swimming, fishing, boating reading books on the dock. I took my Mom to the nearby antique shops. We are making this a annual family vacation. Thanks to Paul & Anne for making it such a cozy and relaxing place to be! "We had a fantastic time at this cottage. We rented it having seen its listing from the interet and were therefore not 100% sure it would be what we expected -- but it exceeded our expectations! A quite place that truly made me really relax for the first time in a long time. The house came with some many things -- we didn't even get a chance to try out all the things it had to offer. Our young visitors really enjoyed the basement ping pong area and silly hats! I enjoyed just sitting on the doc reading a book while my 6 year old daughter swam and fished all day; I also enjoyed watching a few DVDs, with the fantastic surround sound!" - Amy Rumano, Catonsville, MD, 08/19/04( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"This is a wonderful home with many amenities. We enjoyed the gourmet kitchen and the stereo system. The middle deck was the ultimate place to relax with piped in music from the outdoor speakers and the hammock chair! The children also enjoyed the musical instruments and playing chess on the enclosed porch. It is readily apparent when entering this home that the owners put much effort into making it a very comfortable vacation spot for all who visit." - Casey Family, 08/01/04( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"What a beautiful house and the lake is also pretty to see. It is so peaceful and relaxing for anyone who wants to get away from the city and noisey environment. It has everything that you can think of for entertainment. The Owners even added a new deck and provided lots of information and flyers for sightseeing and things that you can do. Our children and quests have truly enjoyed this rental home. It is such a luxury to have compared to hotel! I would definitely rent from them again. Also, I strongly recommend it to be your next rental house for vacation." - Laurie and Ed Foley, Lovettsville, VA, 07/11/04( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"If you're looking for a quiet, relaxed getaway, this is the place to be! For our third anniversary, we were looking for more than just a place to change clothes and sleep -we wanted a home away from home, and that's just what we got. We had a leisurely week of reading, watching dvd's, and trying out some new recipes in the kitchen. And while we hadn't expected the mid-March snow, we enjoyed watching if fall - while we stayed nice and toasty next to the gas fireplace. Simply put, it's a wonderful retreat." - Keisha & Matthew Burdick, New Haven, CT, 03/25/04( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We had a great time on the lake with our 4 kids! While there wasn't snow, we had the whole lake on which to skate. The house was full of games and toys for the kids (they were in a hurry to go back to it each day from Gramma's house!). We enjoyed the music, the books, the kitchen, the view, the quiet, etc..... Just a wonderful place to stay any time of the year - we can't wait to go back!! " - Walt Legg, Woodbridge, VA, 12/31/03( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"My husband, one year old and I spent our fall vacation at the Harris vacation home and it proved to be as relaxing and enjoyable as we had hoped. I was looking forward to the wood burning stove which we found clean, filled and ready to be lit as well as refridgerator and cabinets filled with the necessities. We grocery shopped nearby and stayed close to home enjoying the comfort and convenience of the home and the beauty of lake outside the beautiful glass doors. My husband is employed as a chef and had a blast in the kitchen daily. Whether looking for a summer vacation or a fall getaway, the house is perfect and lake is amazing. We hope to return again soon." - Kristen Morais, New Britain, CT, 12/23/03( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Forest Lake is New Hampshire's best kept secret! Thank you Paul & Anne for sharing your piece of heaven with us! The house was beautiful...always something good to peruse and always a comfy chair or coach to curl up in. The property was great...whether biking on the trail, sipping coffee on the deck or enjoying the crystal clear lake. We especially enjoyed the dock and swim platform (the perfect spot for soaking up the sun), the incredible sunsets, and the fish that just kept on biting!!! The surronding area was great, too! Lots of activities, some terrific restaurants, plenty of antique shops, as well. We spent a fantastic week and look forward to returning again and again." - Terry & Don Gross, Warwick, New York, 07/28/03( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"This place was just what we were looking for. It was a quiet, friendly, spot yet convenient to wonderful restaurants and shopping. Besides the beautiful lake to enjoy, there was a lovely yard and a house full of things to do for every age and taste. The home,so fully equipped with all of the millions of little things you can not live without but can not possible take on vacation, made our vacation perfect!" - Leigh Carleto, 07/05/03( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)
