"Quintessential Maine. In daylight, breathtaking vistas and the eternal struggle of ocean versus rockbound shore. At night, fog creeps in on little cats feet (Dickinson). Loved every minute! Ken I was never a morning person until this cottage. I didn’t want to miss a single sunrise! The finches will entertain you as you sit outside with your morning coffee. What an incredibly relaxing spot. Puffins, seals, a whale, sea birds and butterflies – all on a wonderful cruise by Capt. Norton to Machias Seal Island. For an absolutely divine meal go to Riverview Inn in East Machias – you have to make reservations – food was delicious; warm friendly service too! For comic relief there are the local homemade signs – “Chipmunks Crossing” and the unforgettable “Rats, Clams, and Firewood”…(hmmm, tempting, but I think I’ll hold out for steamers!) Edde "
