"From guestbook: It looks like we were the first ones here this year. The view from the backyard is awesome, better than the pictures. Even though we didn’t see any bald eagles, we did go take a walk on the island at low tide; great place to pick shells. These are the places we went to: Beal and Great Wass island – went to Mud Hold Trail (it’s not muddy!). Very pretty trail. West Quoddy lighthouse, went on Bog Trail, awesome scenery, went down stairs to beach area. Ate at Whitehouse Restaurant – great lobsters and seafood. Awesome cheesecake!! Roque Bluffs – pretty view of beach; Petit Manan – 4 mile trail was too muddy but Smile trail was pretty with a great view of the shoreline. Ate at Tall Barneys – awesome crabrolls. Very good scallops in butter and garlic sauce, good fried shrimp. Try the chocolate mousse cake. Very friendly atmosphere. Also went to Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain, Sandy Beach, Bass Harbor lighthouse. Fort Knox was interesting even though it had never seen a battle. These might be some ideas for future renters of this cozy little cottage with the breaktaking views. "
