Junction Creek ~ Brand new 4 or 5 bedroom House Durango

USA/Colorado/Durango Vacation Rental

4 bedroom, 3 bath vacation home sleeps 12 (3 Kings, 1 queen, sleeper sofa)

Comments From Guests of Junction

"Wonderful Vacation Rental. Our family loved this home. We were in Colorado for a wedding/family reunion and had 13 people and had plenty of room. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the back yard and spa and grill. We enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen and playing games at the large table. We never felt crowded. It was relaxing to sit on the second-floor deck, off the master bedroom, which overlooks the yard. Besides the warm quality of the house, we really appreciated being so close to town. Parking was no problem. In fact we had no problems at all. Check out the near-by Rec Center with the indoor water slide, wading area with toys for the kids and whirlpools, plus swimming lanes and gym equipment. Durango is a fun town with much to see, besides the beautiful mountains. We highly recommend this home. Our ages ranged from 72 down to 4 years old and everyone loved it. Thanks, Daniel and Heather. Great job! al. " - Jeanne M., San Antonia, FL, 07/07/2016 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"The house exceeded our expectations, is its a great place to spend vacations we where there for new years eve (2015) and definitely will go back, the only improvement we would suggest is to have some extra sheets and blankets for the sleepers sofas of bring some if you are using them, the living room gets more colder that the rest of the house but still the house is warm. Another tip is that the hot tub gets warmer like 1 Fahrenheit each 20-30 mins so pre heat it with some time, everything else was perfect the main room bed is so conformable so are the other beds, everything is close to the house. " - Miguel C., Mision de San Antonio 2240,Ca, 01/03/2016 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Had 8 people attend for 50th birthday celebration. House was quite big enough, plenty of room for everyone. Bedding was plentiful, no issues. Really enjoyed the hot tub and the grill. It was an excellent time and the house was perfect for the occasion. Master bedroom has a large shower/jacuzzi/bathroom area. It's not accessible to everyone without going through the bedroom. It would probably be best to decide who gets the master bedroom before arriving as there will be fights over it. The deck off the master is unfinished. This wasn't an issue for us, but it might be for some. Regarding the location: it's good to understand that the house is on a corner. The driveway faces Junction St., but the front of the house faces Virginia Street. Also, the door nearest the driveway leads to the Studio, not the main house. Nearly every guest ended up in the studio when they arrived (it looks really nice too: so if you only have a couple of people traveling, the studio looks like a good bet). It might be worth adding a sign on the entry to the studio indicating that the main house entrance is only through the front of the house. The location is not directly in "downtown" Durango. It is walkable, but it's kind of a long walk. It was really beautiful though, so no complaints. " - James F., , 05/31/2015 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We had our family Christmas gathering at the Durango house and studio. There were 16 of us ages 4 to 82, I wasn't sure there would be enough room for everyone but it was no problem. Staying right in Durango was very convenient for diverse interests. The younger kids enjoyed the near by community pool, older kids enjoyed skiing or walking to downtown (about a mile on the animas river trail). The hot tub was popular in the evenings. I thought the pictures of the property were ok online, but it was better in person, a very comfortable place to stay." - Kathleen G., Albuquerque, NM, 01/01/2015 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We LOVED this rental! It was clean, spacious, well-kept, updated and well stocked! The location was great for going into Downtown Durango or heading up to the slopes for the day. We loved being there over Christmas and the heated floors made such a difference - that, along with the wood fireplace, kept us all warm and cozy all week! We rented the studio along with the main house and it was plenty of room for our group of 14 - there were beds to spare! We even put up a Christmas tree and still had plenty of space to socialize in the evenings. We built a snowman in the backyard and the in-ground hottub was enjoyed many evenings! We recommend the "Brew Pub & Kitchen" for lunch, great sandwiches and good beer. Steamworks was also great fun and fare - they'll even give you chalk and let the kids draw on the floor! If you go in wintertime, hop aboard the Polar Express - it's a magical experience for the kiddos! The adults went skiing at Durango Mountain Resort (only about 30-40 minutes up the road) and WolfCreek (about 2 hours away, near Pagosa Springs). The kids enjoyed tubing at Durango Mtn Resort, too. We had tons of fun out and about, but the evenings at "home base" were the best. My only word of caution is: the glass table top in the main dining room is not attached to the table frame. I dunno if this is on purpose or by accident, but there were several times when we had to reposition it to make sure it didn't get knocked off. It was certainly a hazard with small, squirmy children at the dinner table... but not a deal breaker by any means. Overall, I cannot say I've been on a more relaxing vacation recently. Even with small children in tow, this home made us feel "at home". Walking in to a really clean rental is such a relief - I highly recommend this property, you will not be disappointed! " - Whitney L., Albuquerque, NM, 12/27/2014 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"This was a great house rental. Excellent location. Often walked down the hill to use the park facilities, pool and walking along the river trail. The layout of the house was perfect for our family. We loved sitting on the big back porch with a private back yard. Plenty of towels and a well equipped kitchen. Hot tub was clean and a great place to congregate during the evening. " - Clare B., Channahon, Il, 08/06/2014 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Thank you so much for the wonderful use of your home around the 4th of July. Our extended family of 9 adults all met there for the week and there was plenty of comfortable rooms/beds for everyone. (We didn't realize that one of the rooms had a twin or double with the king!) We were sorry that we never used the beautiful hot tub, but we did enjoy having the home be our "hub" from where we went paddle boarding, mountain biking, rafting, and many strolls into town along the Animas River trail. We loved seeing the Silverton Train, rafters, and many deer as we walked along the beautiful path to the quaint stores and restaurants in town. We would definitely recommend this home to large families or gatherings. " - Kay W., Rancho Mirage, CA, 07/09/2014 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We had a super time at your home in Durango. The location was perfect as was the beautiful spa you've put in. Everyone's room was great and the linens and towels were excellent as well. You really put a lot of thought into the home. " - Joyce J., Anthem, AZ, 04/28/2013 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"This home was awesome! It was everything they promised plus some. It was convenient to stores and Main Street. The home was well furnished, comfortable and homey. The jacuzzi was absolutely fabulous too! When we decide to go back to Durango whether w/our group of women or take our families this house would be my preference." - Marcella G., Los ranchos, nm, 01/28/2013 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Hi Daniel and Heather - we LOVED your house. It is beautiful, quite the handsomest property we've rented in our various family reunions. I stayed in the room with the 4-poster bed, and found it the most comfortable mattress I've slept on outside of a Sheraton hotel. Wish I had one! The spa outside was lovely too, we enjoyed it. We also used the barbeque one night - it was such a pleasure to have it there and ready to go. We were careful to burn it off per instructions. We were also careful to remove all perishables and to leave everything clean and neat. We left the trash in the shed as we departed Monday morning. We did not put it out as we didn't want the bears to have until the Thursday trash pick-up to mess with it. I hope that is what you wanted to have happen. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed our niece's wedding, and had some great hikes together as a family during our stay. As active people we have no interest in an entertainment center, so I hope that doesn't raise the price a great deal. We'd love to stay again. Warmest wishes, the Boyer/Kearny/Longmire families. " - Lynn K., Oakland CA, 94, 10/01/2012 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We had the most wonderful time in Durango. This house is amazing, exactly how it is described. Very clean, enough linens and towels. There were 18 of us and we were very comfortable with the house and the studio apartment. Very easy to get to grocery stores and downtown Durango from the house. The owner has been extremely helpful and made the process for renting very easy. We will definitely stay here again." - Marsha R., Albuquerque, NM, 12/11/2011 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We really enjoyed the house and the hot tub. The house is beautiful, although still some things left to be done with construction. Would have been nice to have access to the garage as we had 4 bikes that we had to store in the main house. The layout of the home is great and provided ample room for 6 in our group. The kitchen was great as well, although larger cookware would have been nice. Location is perfect. Right in the heart of town with easy access to all activities in Durango. Will definitely stay again when in Durango. Highly recommend." - Mike S., Tulsa, OK, 06/29/2011 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. The house was clean and true to description. There was an issue with the wireless internet when we first arrived, but one phone call and about 15 minutes later it was resolved. There was a natural gas smell lingering in the house for the whole weekend. We called about this and someone came quickly to check it out. Nothing wrong was found in the house, so we just opened windows and dealt with it. Overall, we very much enjoyed the house and would recommend to anyone. " - Ann P., Los Alamos, NM, 05/30/2011 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We were very happy with the Durango house for a number of reasons. There were 7 adults and 3 children in our group. 1) It was in a very accessible location just off of 550 not far from downtown, stores and about a 40 min drive to the ski resort; 2) the check-in and check-out process was very easy; 3) the house was very clean when we arrived; 4) there were plenty of towels and linens for the group; 5) the kitchen was well-stocked with equipment for our cooks; 6) the flat panel TV was very nice; 7) the lay-out of the house worked well for family interacting or alone time in their bedroom and 8) the hot tub was very nice and quite large. There are only a couple of things I'd point out to future renters - 1) there is only one TV in the main living area which made our kids in the group a little grumpy when they wanted to watch their movies and the adults didn't. 2) The master shower area is very nice and open but did leave standing water after showers which could be a slip hazard when using the bathroom. You are within walking distance of downtown Durango but the walk is not very scenic along Hwy 550. You can catch the trolley but remember it does not run on Sunday. The kids loved the Polar Express train, snowboarding and sledding in the park. The adults loved the skiing, mountain air and relaxed hospitality of the town. I would definitely recommend this property! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> OWNER COMMENTS We are currently installing a new TV in the master suite. There are now teak floor mats in the master shower area to reduce slippage. When walking to downtown Durango guests should walk East all the way to the Animus river, then walk South along the beautiful river trail, not highway 550. Go East to the high school, walk behind the tennis courts and down the hill to the river. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< " - kris s., Cincinnati, OH, 12/30/2010 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"The property was just as it was presented and more. We made most of our meals and found the kitchen well equipped. The dining table was large enough for all of us to eat together and play games afterward. The living room accommodated everyone and was comfortable. The bedrooms and baths were just right - everyone had plenty of room and the linens were nice. We did not use the spa." - Karla K., Avon, CO, 12/20/2010 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"This was a perfect setting for us. A very clean and warm house awaited our arrival, and it was large enough to accommodate our party of 6. The cupboards were stocked with the necessities we needed and there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms. All of the beds were comfortable. The hot tub warmed us up quickly as we sat and watched the snow fall. Even deer walked in the backyard! There were only a few negatives: We didn't find any hot pads when using the oven so made do with the kitchen towels that were provided. Another TV, say in the master bedroom, would've been nice. We definitely would rent this property again as well as recommend it to friends. Durango is such a fun town with many wonderful restaurants. Mutus and Cosmos were our favorites. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay!!" - Dona H., Carol Stream, IL, 11/27/2010 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"A very nice place to stay and worked well for our families. We could not find the coffee grinder, but made out fine. We appreciated how clean the house was! Thanks!" - Weston U., Copeland, KS, 08/21/2010 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Great home, very clean, spacious, and well maintained. We would definitely consider renting this house again in the future." - Elizabeth C., Scottsdale AZ, 85, 07/03/2010 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"House was in great shape and furniture was top notch! Would love to stay there again on my next trip to Durango!!" - Raul A., Albuquerque, NM, 05/23/2010 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Beautifully appointed house - really spacious and comfortable. Very well finished and with everything to make a stay in Durango very pleasant indeed. The hot tub was not finished when we were there and I am sure it will be even better when it is. Everything was very clean. All the bedrooms were really comfortable and the master bathroom a real WOW factor. My only comments would be: - I agree with a previous reviewer that the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable - I mean EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I don't think it should be advertised as another bed. Also there were blankets and pillows for it but no sheets or pillow cases - we had to go and buy them. Having said that, I would wholeheartedly recommend the property to friends - I really liked it. "We cannot say enough about our experience in renting your vacation home in Durango. The house is magnificent---beautiful furnishings, spacious rooms , excellent kitchen facilities and plenty of bathrooms and living space for our group of nine and my cousin and her husband who rented the spacious suite above the garage. We were in Durango for our daughter's wedding and we felt right at home with plenty of room for entertaining and wedding preparations. My Mom of 91 years was so comfortable here versus a hotel room. We intend to rent again whenever we visit our daughter. Easy access to town, grocery stores restaurants , recreational facilities, and a hiking path and bike path within walking distance. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and can't wait to see the hot tub and landscaping which were in progress. Our only suggestions would be to provide more mirrors in the bedrooms and a few more alarm clocks . Our stay of 7 days was wonderful! Thank you so much! "We enjoyed our stay in your home! The floorplan worked out perfectly for our family of 10. The house is quiet and in a good location. The flat screen TV and other amenities were very nice. We wish the back yard would have been completed! Blinds or drapes in the second upstairs bath are needed." - Jill B., , 08/21/2008 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Daniel - I sent comments on the standard rental form. If you'd like me to add more positive comments, I will - because we really did like your place. As I said on the comment sheet - a little better lighting in the downstairs bathroom and padding on the sofabed in the studio would be nice. But we all loved your place and would definitely return. "Daniel, we did enjoy the house very much.It worked out real well for us, and was all you said it would be. It will be even better when the back is done. It was nice to meet you as well. thanks, John vander pol " - John v., , 07/15/2008 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"I want to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your home. It was beautiful, clean and spacious. This rental will be on our list of return stays. Thank you!" - Karen M., Kirkland, AZ, 05/11/2008 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Hi. We absolutely loved the house. We had a wonderful time. Only suggestions we can make: the window in the secondary bathroom upstairs needs a curtain or blind, especially with workers on the roof!! there is also not a hand towel rack in that bathroom. Other than these 2 very minor things, the house was awesome!!" - Brittney M., Bellville, Te, 03/21/2008 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Our stay at this property was very enjoyable. The location is great and the house is furnished far better than the vast majority of all rental properties. My only comment is that since there is only one living area this property is best suited for a group of couples as opposed to families...

"The house was wonderful. The huge room above the garage worked out great for our friends with 2 small children. You probably are already aware, but just so you know, the master shower has the water temperature settings backwards. Turning on more cold makes it hot and vice-versa. Also, in the other upstairs bathroom one of the faucet handles on the sink leaks water onto the counter. It is such a beautiful home and with the work still so new I wanted to make sure you were aware to get the plumbers back out to straighten the little details up. We had a great trip. The location was perfect to be able to get to all of the good mountain biking trails and close to downtown at the same time. Thank you. We will be looking for available dates for next summer! " - R S., Lafayette, CO, 08/19/2007 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We had a fabulous time. Your place is gorgeous! These are insignificant suggestions but for future guests, some towel racks and trash cans in the bathrooms would be good. You might want to put pads on the bottom of your dining room chairs and and maybe a cheap throw rug in front of the kitchen sink to keep your hardwood floors in good shape. A few chairs and reading lamps in the living room would be nice for night time. A couple of things that we have had at other rentals that are not necessities, but are nice to have are the following: a gas grill, some patio chairs, a vcr/dvd player with a few choices of family videos, and some board games or some kind of game table. Please don't be offended by these suggestions. They are not criticisms. You have a marvelous house. We are in the middle of redoing our home, and we enjoyed seeing all the new styles you put in yours. Thanks again so much. We enjoyed meeting you and wish you the best!
