Casa Santa Cruz - Antigua's Central Hidden Secret w/ pool (4 of 4) + Free Night

Central America/Guatemala/Antigua Guatemala Vacation Rental

3 bedroom, 3 bath vacation townhome sleeps 8 (1 King, 6 Twins)

Comments From Guests of Casa_Santa_Cruz

"Our family of 5 stayed her in March 2020 (before Coronavirus) and had a wonderful time. There are three bedrooms with en suite baths and a loft area with two twin beds. The beds are very firm. We were not hot as there were fans at night and it got cool enough to sleep. We could walk almost everywhere although we took Uber at night. Had wonderful meals. Flor was amazing and arranged shuttles etc and a coffee tour. We had Myda cook a dinner and 2 breakfasts which were good and a help. Plenty of clean water from a dispenser. The pool and hot tub were great and we used both every day. Internet was fine for what we needed. One of the more relaxing vacations we've had." - Ann A., Tyler, Tx USA, 03/29/2020 (VRBO Review)

"Thanks for a lovely stay. The house was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. " - Kathy W., Vive en London, Ve, 12/23/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"My stay was good. The house is beautiful and the staff was great. " - Jennie L., Vive en Valley Stream, NY, 12/02/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Our daughter got married in Guatemala last week. We were happy to find this group of houses together. As our guest list grew so did your needs. We actually ended up renting a 5th house next door and an additional one outside of the complex. The set up was perfect. Having a common courtyard that connected the homes with a beautiful pool and hot tub was great for sitting out in the morning for breakfast and catching up after a day of exploring. The wedding took place on the 4 day of our 5 day stay. Because of the way the housing was arranged everybody knew each other by this time, which made their visit and our wedding all the more meaningful. This would not have been possible had we rented rooms in a hotel. As for the accommodations themselves, each home was beautifully decorated and well maintained. The cleaning staff was delightful and very attentive. The guards were friendly and our guest who had not been to Guatemala felt safe in the neighborhood. The communication with Flor was easy through email and all questions were answered promptly. The location is in a quite area of town close to the market and easily walkable to the main square and restaurants. Antigua is a beautiful city. I would highly recommend these homes, especially if you have a large group for any occasion. This was a once in a life time event for our family and much of the ease and enjoyment came from our accommodations. " - Jackie K., Chapel Hill, NC, 11/19/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"I brought my family and they were excited to stay in your place. After visiting Tikal and Lake Dulce, we we happy to be in a place with great temperature, space, accommodations, security, cleanliness and hospitslity. We would def think of your place again when we return." - Oscar I., Vive en Culver City, CA, 10/02/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We loved our 4-night stay in Antigua at this beautiful, cozy, super clean and spacious house. Everything was comfortable, the pool/hot tub situation was lovely, and the proximity to the center of town, unbeatable. Can only report good things!" - Susie H., 09/13/2019 (VRBO Review)

"This property boats many nice touches that we haven’t experienced in other Antigua rentals, like robes, nice linens, face wipes, mostly comfortable furniture. Good cleaning staff. Wonderful to have access to washer/dryer since we had a full house of three generations. We made arrangements through Flor to have Six meals prepared for us and each was more delectable than the prior one. Pepian, the national dish, was the best I’ve eaten anywhere including the better restaurants. The swimming pool and hot tub were very clean and great fun for the kids. Gated area and 24 hour guards provided good security. Very quiet at night which isn’t a Guatemalan norm. Things you might consider: Location requires crossing a major street near the bus station and at certain times of the day traffic is chaotic. There are other rentals that share the pool. While indoor areas are tranquil, the pool and shared patio can be quite busy." - Anonymous, Houston, Texas, 07/08/2019 (VRBO Review)

"We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home! The home was spacious and beautiful! It was very clean and provided a relaxing atmosphere. " - Steve R., , 05/22/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We loved the location that is quiet yet convenient to the town center. Great hosts and perfectly safe. Will stay there again!" - Anonymous, 04/29/2019 (VRBO Review)

"We loved the house and location. Very convenient to town but quite and safe. The guard at the entrance to the small housing development was reassuring. Friendly staff, great house, very clean and very pretty. We will be back! Thanks " - Kenneth P., , 04/14/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We had a wonderful stay at the vacation home. We highly recommend it!" - Brooke R., , 03/24/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"I've stayed here with groups several times. The place is nice and comfortable. Flor and the rest of the personnel are always kind and willing to help. Thank you!" - Ingrid F., Ancaster ON L9K 0B1,Ca, 01/24/2019 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Everything was perfect, the house is beautiful, the staff is very helpful and we will definitely come back. Thank you," - Yoram Y., suite 102,Bo, 11/03/2018 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"a house very well located, comfortable, and exactly the same as they specify it!" - Esteban P., , 04/08/2018 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Great setup with the houses surrounding the pool - we met the loveliest family also staying there. The very best part of this house - after staying in others in Guatemala - is it is serenely QUIET. No roosters, no dogs barking, no tuk tuks flying behind the house - it was quiet! The house is also very clean and beautifully decorated with a lovely courtyard. Flor was so kind and accommodating, and the gift basket was also a nice touch. My only suggestion would be to add a thick pillowtop mattress pad to the beds - the mattresses are quite hard and the bedspreads/linens are old. A pillowtop mattress pad would do wonders." - Elizabeth (Lisa) K., Austin, TX, 12/12/2017 (VRBO Review)

"We loved staying at this property in Antigua! We felt incredibly safe, and the house was so serene. It was wonderful to wake up and relax in the jacuzzi, or sit in the spacious living room together at night. Communication with the owner and property manager was terrific - Flor even helped me recover my Kindle that I forgot when we left! I would definitely stay here again." - Jessica E., 11/12/2017 (VRBO Review)

"Our stay in Antigua, Guatemala was incredible. We stayed at Casa Santa Cruz for my grandmothers 85th birthday. As she entered the home she said “let's rent this place for Semana Santa!” At that point we knew we chose the right house. We were greeted with a basket full of delicious banana bread, magazines, and a cell phone w charger that had some phone credit. There are stores a few blocks away where you can purchase phone credit as well as food. I, as well as my family enjoyed our stay. Pros: large enough for a family. It's a safe and gated property. Decor of the home was beautiful . When walking around the property you are able to view the volcano. It's a peaceful place! Flor was our contact person, she was extremely attentive and welcoming. Cons: there is a time set for pool activity, I believe the cut off time was 9pm. The pool is shared and in the middle of 4 homes. The security guards have a time at night when they close/ lock the gates . I believe we were told 11 or midnight . I understand that safety is their priority. I only share this information as I wasn't aware. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, we would love to repeat our experience. We left with beautiful memories from our stay in Antigua ! " - Rosy M., , 11/06/2017 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We stayed at this property with 4 women who came to Antigua for Spanish lessons. It was about a 15 minute walk in the morning to La Merced where most of the Spanish schools are located. The house itself is very spacious and beautifully decorated and we greatly appreciated the attention to detail (maps, phone, magazines) that made our stay that much more comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the two outdoor areas. It was very quiet at night and we felt very safe inside this gated community. Would highly recommend for groups/familys looking for a large home to relax in after a day of exploring Antigua." - Elsa D., Winnetka, 10/20/2017 (VRBO Review)

"This house is absolutely beautiful. It sits in a 4-house complex while still remaining private, and beautiful. This house is quite large that it can easily host the max occupancy without any issues, and, while Antigua Guatemala is quite safe, it is located in a secured community so you won't have to worry about any safety issues. The house is located at a short walking distance to grocery stores and the market, and the downtown is less than a 30-min walk away. The maid service for this house is also a great option if you don't want to do dishes in the morning, etc. You can also pay a bit extra to have a cook, extra maid services, etc, so you can really tailor the services to your needs. Paola was absolutely great at keeping the communication channels open, and the checkin process was smooth. I would recommend this place." - Armando M., Waterloo, 06/17/2017 (VRBO Review)

"Quiet, comfortable home had everything we needed to enjoy the city. Arrangements through the owner for transportation from the airport and cooking were phenomenal. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub after a day walking down from Cerro de la Cruz were a welcome respite. Top notch!" - Rebecca & Mike C., Evanston, IL, 04/20/2017 (VRBO Review)

"This property is lovely. Well kept with excellent staff that clean daily. Gated and safe, we felt very secure and comfortable here. " - Bridget W., Calgary, Al, 04/01/2016 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"After getting parked and opening the door and the complementary bottle of wine, we explored this amazing house. It is absolutely gorgeous and after traveling in Guate for 4 weeks the hot water with high pressure and clean cloro pool we a welcomed change. The location is literally as close as you can get to down town without payign the boutique hotel pricing we walked and were at center in 8 minutes. What a great spot the pool is lovely and it literally is beneath Volcan de Agua. We highly recommend this condo and we will be using it every time we travel through /guate which is at least once a year. Thanks for the hospitality. Oh and the staff is great the house helper even finished my load of laundry and folded it and had it waiting on the table. I am a chef and cooked breakfast and dinner with ease int his modern kitchen with all the fixins. The refrigerator is large and cold and you just can beat it. The silence in the night was welcomed as well after the travels and having dogs, buses and Gallos roaring all night everywhere else in Guate," - brandon W., 01/11/2016 (VRBO Review)

"The stay at Casa Espiritu Santo, Casa Santa Cruz, Casa San Juan, and Casa Santa Caterina was beyond our expectations. The rental homes were well received by our wedding party of 28 people. The accommodations were clean and decorated to compliment Antigua. The Staff that maintained, cleaned and managed the complex were very hospitable and assisted in all aspects of our 8 day stay to make our stay more relaxing and enjoyable. I highly recommend that you inquire with reservations@guatemala-vacation-rentals.com for your upcoming vacation to Guatemala. "We had a great time during our stay at Casa Santa Cruz. The home was much more space than our little family needed but we really appreciated the security, the view of the volcano and the great help. We'll definitely consider it for any future stays in Antigua." - Krista L., Charlotte, NC, 11/26/2015 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"Stay was great as usual. if there is one thing I would consider changing would be to invest in a larger TV. I know you are not supposed to travel to watch TV, but in a first class place like yours, it might be nicer to have something a little more substantial. Thanks for letting us stay and we will be back! " - Ken G., Phoenix Arizona 85018,US, 11/28/2014 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We stayed at Casa Santa Cruz for two weeks in August 2013. It is a lovely house and very well equipped. We were with our almost two year old and teenager and managed to please both, which is no mean feat! Having access to a pool was a real bonus. We asked about the provision of a cot and stair gate before we arrived and these were very kindly provided (the nicest stair gates I have seen at both top and bottom of stairs!) Flor and the cleaning staff who we saw on a daily basis were wonderfully warm and friendly. The house is very centrally located - I have been to Antigua many times but did not know the neighbourhood and found the walk to the centre fine (others have said that it is longer than specificed - we did not find this). Our small daughter particularly loved greeting the buses and tuc tucs on the way. I would recommend the house. It may a bit more expensive than other rentals we looked at online, but both the safety of the area and the fact that the pool was fenced off were big pluses for us." - Mo H., Glasgow, G1, 08/22/2013 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"You can not go wrong staying here! Our stay at Casa Santa Cruz far exceeded our expectations. The home is beautifully furnished and has everything a family needs for a carefree visit. The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful! I will miss our breakfasts cooked by Dona Clara! The courtyard set up was lovely. Kids had a great time playing in the pool and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests. Yet, at the end of our long days, we retreated to our quiet, private space. We mad the mistake of putting our son in the room with the skylights, so he would wake up too early...I'd put kids in the darker rooms in the future. The kitchen was well appointed. We didn't cook much, but the appliances and amenities, cooking utensils were clean and perfect for our basic needs. The location is perfect. Located centrally enough that you can walk easily to the Plaza Central, Mercado, etc, but set back from a quiet street so that noise from town does not reach the house. Around the corner was also a grassy patch, so we were able to kick a soccer ball around with the kids. The furnishings are lovely and clean. It felt warm and inviting - nothing like you would expect from a rental. My husband and I are in the real estate business and have vacation rentals, so I am VERY particular about our accommodations. We would stay here again in a minute and would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone considering a trip to Antigua. " - Grace B., San Francisco, CA, 06/24/2013 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"We finished up our stay at Philippas rental property in antigua, Guatemala and couldn't have been more thrilled! We rented 3 homes for a group of 24 in antigua for a wedding. The first view of the homes left everybody speechless... They are stunning. And once inside we were all in awe. They haven't missed a detail, the staff is exceptional and Philippa was beyond attentive to every question I had. I would seriously recommend this anyone and everyone!" - Steve M., 06/06/2013 (VRBO Review)

"Imagine waking in the morning in Antigua, stepping out onto the second floor balcony from your bedroom and sitting down to sip rich Guatemalan coffee as you gaze upon the volcano straight ahead. In the courtyard below is a swimming pool & the hot tub. You are only a few minutes away from a supermarket in Antigua that carries everything you might need to self cater in a fully equipped kitchen, yet only a few streets further along is the central park replete with cafes and restaurants of every description and price range. When I entered Las Hermitas, a group of 4 separate colonial style double story homes facing a shared central courtyard with pool and hot tub, I felt like I was stepping into the colonial past of Antigua while having access to all of the modern conveniences I could desire. Casa Espiritu Santa has 4 large double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. The security was reassuring. And the view from the balcony magical. A special experience I won't easily forget!" - Kathy, Auckland, New Zealand, 05/09/2013 (VRBO Review)

"A great place to stay makes a trip that much better! This house fits the bill. It's charming. The location lovely and close to everything in Antigua. The transaction was easy and the owner extremelly accomodating. I know we will stay here again." - NMiami, Miami, Florida, 04/24/2013 (VRBO Review)

"This house is charming. The location lovely and close to everything in Antigua. The transaction was easy and the owner extremelly accomodating. I know we will stay here again. " - Nora O., Miami Shores, Fl, 04/05/2013 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"I have stayed at Casa Santa Cruz twice now and both times I've had a truly wonderful time. The house is stunning and immaculately maintained. It's close to the market which is really handy and only a short walk from the center of Antigua. However to be honest, both times I've stayed there it has been a bit of a get away and so after doing my food shopping I barely left! The complex is very peaceful most of the time and you can almost forget that you're in a busy town. The beds are super comfortable and the showers are hot which makes a wonderful change to many places in Guatemala. The property manager is friendly and helpful as are the cleaning staff. I would anyone to stay here!" - Vrbo Traveler, ziJZojvfOtlL+uQV8PgBj4LQp8Ed7KYluegzrw==, 01/23/2013 (VRBO Review)

"Our experience at Casa Santa Cruz was amazing. We brought a group of 16 down and we stayed in two of these beautiful homes. The accomodations were superb and the kids totally loved having a pool at their disposal. We definitely plan on returning and staying here again. The housekeeper cooked for us also and it was very good!" - Ann S., Maysville, Ok, 07/04/2012 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"The first conversation with the owner sold me on the property. She answered every question I asked her about Antigua and her home. This may sound simple, but I ask lots of questions! Working with the owner is one-stop shopping. Between her and Paola, we were able to acquire service to and from the airport as well as schedule all of our tours. We were two couples and felt safe in the gated community. We also enjoyed talking to other neighbors staying on the property. The walk into Antigua was easy and quick. The tour (Pacaya Volcano & Santa Teresita Spa) was excellent! We recommended this location to our flight attendent and to the concierge in the building where we live. We plan to continue telling people about this beautiful property and the excellent service we received." - Katura L., Jacksonville, FL, 03/22/2012 (VRBO Review)

"I recently spent a week with my girlfriends in Antigua, Guatemala. We stayed a La Case de San Juan and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful, clean, and safe. We all felt perfectly at home. The pictures and description do not do justice to this wonderful house. Words cannot describe Dona Clara. Her demeanor was lovely and she was extremely attentive to all our needs and comforts. She even had an incredible meal prepared for us one evening after a day of hiking the local volcano. I have no qualms recommending this home to friends, colleagues, and family. Thanks for a lovely experience." - Vrbo Traveler, W/fzmzcPYDssGvSoNv0nadsVTCZ4qYsJalxTgQ==, 02/04/2012 (VRBO Review)

"We left feedback about our wonderful stay at this home, it was just terrific, including our kids studying at PLFM...but by oversight forgot to complete the numerical rating...of course we meant IT TO BE THE HIGHEST NUMERICAL RATING, the one posted (the lowest) was just an oversight. Enjoy this terrific home." - Robert G., Great Falls, Vi, 08/06/2011 (VRconnection Guest Feedback)

"This house truly exceeded all expectations. It is close to everything. Very safe. The attention to detail is amazing. The owner is attentive, knowledgeable, and very caring. The staff was amazing... thank you Dona Clara! We can't wait to return!! Yates-Rivera family, 2011" - Anonymous, Pelham, NH , 07/15/2011 (VRBO Review)

Many thanks Mary Ellen for your review. It was lovely to meet your family while I was down in Guatemala, and we hope your next trip will be under happier circumstances. I am thinking of you guys as you mourn your family loss. Best wishes, Philippa

"We had a most professional, welcoming experience. The home is just beautiful, with lots of fine details found only in Antigua. Service was excellent as the staff really made you feel at home. All in all, a home away from home. Perfect! Would highly recommend it to everyone. Especially for families with children as the kids are busy in the pool or are safe running around the enclosed gated community." - Padma, Zona13 Guatemala, 07/15/2011 (VRBO Review)

Sorry to have missed you, Padma in Guatemala. I'm so glad your stay with us was so wonderful. We look forward to having you back with us again. Best wishes, Philippa
