"The house is very comfortable and very clean. The landowners take seriously to make it a cozy place for the tenants. We really enjoyed it. We appreciated that the landowner let us use the pack and play. The landowners gave us tons of useful information to make the most of our stay. There is a playground for kids very close to the house. There is a nice grill and a good working washing machine. You can get wireless. Winter Harbor is a small village, one hour drive from the central part of Acadia National Park. " We are returning visitors to this beautiful townhouse and in the process of renting again for September. It will be our third year renting here and we will continue visiting beautiful Winter Harbor yearly. It is the most relaxing place we have ever vacationed, but if you want a little more excitement, Bar Harbor is not far. Everything was described perfectly on the website we found while looking for a place to stay in Maine. We corresponded several times through email with Kathleen. She prepared us for our stay thoroughly, giving us advice on places to see, places to eat and went above and beyond anything we could have imagined during our planning. We were equipped with maps, free bus schedules, event calendars, tide charts, directions, anything you can imagine,she made available to us without us even asking. It is close to some wonderful local restaurants, which is very convenient. When we arrived, we were so happy to see that everything looked as it did on the website. It was very clean, beautifully decorated in a nautical theme, with a fully stocked kitchen and lots of books and movies. All the furniture was comfortable and the rooms are so inviting...what a pleasant change from a hotel room which can be a nightmare!! It was so cozy and felt like home. She even provides binoculars for viewing the beautiful scenery, including Cadillac mountain which you can see from the back deck. Acadia National Park is just a few minutes away and the beauty of it is stunning. We highly recommend this warm, charming home to enhance your vacation. "Great place to stay- gorgeous area We had a great time in Winter Harbor! The house was very nice- clean, comfortable and well stocked. We were there during the lobster festival, which was thoroughly enjoyable. The town is very quaint and the people were very friendly. We were able to buy lobsters from a local fisherman, and cooked them in the kitchen- everything that we needed was there. That was a fabulous meal! Be sure to spend some time in the park- it is very beautiful. Also, Bar Harbor is a wonderful area- great food and shopping." - ABenner , PA, 06/26/09
