All the amenities are abundant and you spare no expense to accomadate your place with some of the little things that we always forget. I love the Viking stove and I made breakfast and dinner 5 days out of seven. Having the coolers to take along to the beaches helped with our sandwich and beverages for the beach. One of the strangest things happened on our trip to magens bay which was a first The whole shore was filled with jellyfish which made for some cool views of natures sea creatures beauty and i was brave enough to navigate around them but my daughters stayed on the beach It is not a common occurence so i dont want to mislead anyone Ive been to magens a dozen times since 1987 and this was a first Its just an amusing antecdote to share with my hosts. "Mahogany getaway… welcome…“Peace to those who enter… God’s grace to those who depart …” Truly an amazing place to stay with the comfort and luxury of a home away from home. It is by far the most equipped holiday home we have ever been… very good taste in deco and furnishings ! The owners Steve and Robin did a very good job in anticipating the needs of their guests. They have provided a lof of stuff … beach chairs .. snorkeling gears … coolers … towels… ohh… you forgot to bring mosquito spray or you had a cut and wanted disinfectant ? Don’t you worry Steve and Robin also has anticipated that … they also have them inside the cabinet under the sink ?. The bluebook comes very handy… it is a piece of work … it is like having …probably even more … a 24 hour hotel concierge… with all the information on where to shop, which beaches are nice …where to dine … etc etc. with a touch of the owners personal recommendations based from their experiences of course… The driving tour CD which is in the blue book is great … we have found it only on the second day of our stay after driving around the island but decided to follow the route anyway and it was interesting to have a glimpse of the history on some of the places on the island. The view is fantastic on every corner … with the view of the islands during the day… the cool breeze from the ocean… the singing crickets in the evening … Sometimes it was hard to choose… shall we go to the nice beaches or shall we just stay inside the comfy condo… On a rating of 1 to 10… Mahogany getaway gets a 10… for comfort, security, functionability you name it. "We stayed at Mahogony Getaway Oct. 12th-Oct.20th. Since this was our 6th trip to the USVI, we knew what we wanted to do on this trip. We wanted to spend our days snorkeling, sitting on the beaches, and just relaxing in the evening. We could not have asked for a better place to do this. It was easy to get up, have breakfast, pack a lunch and hit a beach. The coolers and beach chairs provided made this an easy trip to the beach. After a full day on a beach either on St.Thomas or St.John (we took the car bardge over),we headed back to the pool and then to the condo. What great views for an evening drink and to enjoy while grilling our dinner! I also have to add that it's too bad that it's necessary to conserve water, because I could have stood a lot longer in the shower just gazing at that beautiful view! We did manage two dinners and one lunch out. Indigos was really nice on a Monday evening when they had a steel pan player. To summarize, everthing was in good shape, just about anything that you could need was provided. The unit is nicely decorated, has a breathtaking view, has a fully equipped office with Internet access for those who take working trips, a Viking stove that makes cooking a treat, and is within walking distance to one of the pools (this is a nice feature, you can take a dip without moving your vehicle.) The unit is also a five minute drive from Magens Bay beach and from Mandahl Bay, which has lovely tidal pools. "We traveled from far and would never want to stay less than 2 weeks. The place was perfect. The condo has the outstanding combo of luxury mixed with comfort. It is fantastic for the price and the owners are outstanding with the provisions they provide and good correspondence. They keep in good contact and are helpful when any situation arises. The location is just what you need for a vacation...out of the way from the hussle and bussle of down town...and yet close to the best beach on the island--Megan's Bay. The owner's have truly made visiting this condo difficult to leave. The view from the balcony was serene and every morning we were up at 6am to listen to the birds and watch the iguanas. The suggested scenic drive is definitely worth doing on a Sunday. We have been to the island 4 times and stayed at different places and we can defintely say we have found the place to stay on all future trips. For those that like to exercise then I recommend the walk or run from the condo to the gatehouse. We have nicknamed it "Suicide Hill". Guaranteed you will be impressed with this condo as we were. "I'm a frequent visitor to St. Thomas and to the Mahogany Run condo complex, and I stayed in Mahogany Getaway on two occasions in fall/winter 2006. Mahogany Getaway is one of the best vacation condos I've visited. (I'm in St. Thomas right now, in fact, as I write this, but not in Mahogany Getaway. It was booked when I sought reservations for a last minute visit. Maybe next time, though!) The unit is nicely decorated, has a breathtaking view, has a fully equipped office with Internet access for those who take working trips, a Viking stove that makes cooking a treat, and is within walking distance to one of the pools (this is a nice feature, you can take a dip without moving your vehicle.) The unit is also a five minute drive from Magens Bay beach and from Mandahl Bay, which has lovely tidal pools. The secure, private, gated community is ideal for walking and jogging, which is a real plus given the relatively difficulty of walking and running on most St. Thomas roads (they're very narrow, hilly and often without space for pedestrians in many parts of the island.) "We stayed at Mahogony Getaway Oct. 12th-Oct.20th. Since this was our 6th trip to the USVI, we knew what we wanted to do on this trip. We wanted to spend our days snorkeling, sitting on the beaches, and just relaxing in the evening. We could not have asked for a better place to do this. It was easy to get up, have breakfast, pack a lunch and hit a beach. The coolers and beach chairs provided made this an easy trip to the beach. After a full day on a beach either on St.Thomas or St.John (we took the car bardge over),we headed back to the pool and then to the condo. What great views for an evening drink and to enjoy while grilling our dinner! I also have to add that it's too bad that it's necessary to conserve water, because I could have stood a lot longer in the shower just gazing at that beautiful view! We did manage two dinners and one lunch out. Indigos was really nice on a Monday evening when they had a steel pan player. To summarize, everthing was in good shape, just about anything that you could need was provided. We didn't experience any power outages, but the first thing we checked for were flashlights or candles and there were plenty of both. We would absolutely stay here again. "I'll keep this brief. The previous guests have said it all. As you walk down the steps to the door, a grin starts to form. It stops when you are leaving. The views in guide books and TV shows cannot match this, especially waking up in the morning and looking out the window from your bed. That grin is still there. Marie and I were there a week ago. Everything you could ask for was close by. Excellent beaches, great food. We got in late afternoon and went over to Indigo for soup and salads (real easy to eat with a grin). Plan on going into town when there are none, 1 or 2 ships. It is listed in the Daily News we bought at the guard shack. This was one hassle free vacation (our 6th in St. Thomas). Mr Marsala answered every question fully, was very friendly, and made sure all the information needed was either supplied before going or in the condo. "Steve & Robin, We just got back, and we can't wait to come back! Your place is really magnificent. The view and location are the best on the island. The condo was equipped with everything we needed from all the kitchen supplies to the beach chairs and umbrella, coolers and binoculars and snorkel equipment. The condo was immaculate when we arrived, and the viking stove and barbq grill were tremendous. We have stayed on the island many times, and Mahogany Getaway is the best place by far. "My wife and I just got back from a week at Mahogany Getaway and all the other comments are true. Its a great place to stay. The views are great and its probably better equipped than your home. The location is beautiful and safe, and convenient to get anywhere on the island with a rental car.
