"We stayed in the upper unit for a month (February) and have already booked for next year. The bed was very comfortable (that's important because I have a bad back.) The unit was spotlessly clean, nicely equipped, and has wonderful cross ventilation. There is a notebook with maps, restaurant tips (go to Irma's), and guidance on tipping. It is such a bonus to have laundry on site. The beautiful beach is just a short walk away or you can also relax on the veranda or by the pool. The owner is around if you have questions but she also totally respects your privacy. I really enjoyed being in a Mexican neighborhood, seeing the school kids, watching the dogs snooze, stopping by the tortilleria to get fresh tortillas for lunch or picking up a mini-Magnum ice cream bar at the corner Abbarrotte. You can get by just fine without knowing any Spanish except Please, Thank you, Pardon me. I have been coming to this area for 20 years and this is my favorite rental so far. [One note: we planned on using Verizon to call the US but there was no service at the unit. The wireless network was fine for email and i-texting but if you need cell coverage, you might check into buying a burner in La Penita.]"
