Spinnaker Waterfront Vacation Rental House ~ Chincoteague Island, Virginia

4 bed, 4 bath Chincoteague Island home sleeps 9

"we had a wonderful stay is this very modern home in a quiet neighborhood. the boat dock is great for a small boat to go out in the bay and fish. the homeowners supplied crab pots so you can catch crabs right off the dock. the town is easy to navigate by vehicle and bike. nearby Assateague National Wildlife Refuge is easy to access by bike or car and the beach there is long and wide. we were able to watch a rocket launch from nearby wallops island. There is plenty to do and the home is a great place to relax after an active day" - Anonymous, Ashland, Va, 09/25/13 (inquire/book)

"What a wonderful fun filled vacation in the most perfect peaceful setting with water views in 3 directions. Kayaking and crabbing from the back decks of the home were easy and proved to be fruitful. House was well equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay. Very comfortable beds and the kitchen was one of the best stocked to date. Would rent again in a flash." - Eileen Lowe, Pennsville, NJ, 09/01/13 (inquire/book)

"My family and I had a wonderful vacation staying at the Spinnaker! We stayed from June 29 to July 6. The house was perfect for our group of two families which included our kids ranging from age 1 up to 18 years old. The layout of the house is incredible and allows everyone to have their own space if they want or all hang out together. I can be very OCD about cleanliness and I can say I felt extremely comfortable in this house. It was clean and well kept. We fished a little bit off the dock but didn't catch anything. We did get to eat crabs we caught off the dock. That was a neat experience, especially since none of us had ever done it before. One of our favorite things was renting 2 kayaks for a day and kayaking in the canal. We also enjoyed spending our evenings and nights on the screened in porch. It was really peaceful sitting outside so close to the water. The Hutchings are an amazing couple to rent from... very easy to contact through the entire process and genuinely concerned with my family and me enjoying our stay. It was our first time visiting Chincoteague; therefore, all of Pat's recommendations and information about the area was greatly appreciated! We also received our deposit back extremely fast and without any problems. We wouldn't hesitate to rent the Spinnaker again if we have the opportunity! Thank you for such an extraoridinary experience!!!" - Anonymous, Jerome, PA, 07/22/13 (inquire/book)

"We went down May 2-6 for the Seafood Fest. 6 adults, 2 old friends and my cousin and his wife I hadn't seen in 22 yrs. Although the weather wasn't the greatest, cool and very windy, we had a great time in a great house. We couldn't use the screened in porch or the outside areas much, but the house was so great, it has everything including a nice fireplace and plenty of very good firewood. Crabbing was great. Would I rent it again-yes. Would I recommend it-yes. Pat is very easy to work with and is very concerned about her renters. So if you're looking for a wonderful place to rent in Chincoteague that has everything, this is it. Where else can you go and have a herd of goats roaming the neighborhood cutting the grass?" - Trego, Mechanicsburg, PA, 05/08/13 (inquire/book)

"Just the Two of Us! We had a lovely time -- just the two of us, retreating for a long weekend from a frantic life. What a lovely place, and lovely views. I especially appreciated the thought that has gone into many of the features of Spinnaker -- the lighting, the la belong of the switches, the clever pass throughs from the kitchen and the decorating. The buffethead ducks in the canal were fun to watch! Thanks for sharing your wonderful home. John & Nan" - John & Nan, NJ, 04/11/13 (inquire/book)

"GrandMom Carol's Very Special Birthday! We all soaked up the unforgettable beauty & tranquility of our stay in this spacious house so perfectly designed. The interior allowed us to relax and enjoy all the books, games, toasty fireplace and every TV Channel desired. The wonderful Spinnaker left nothing to be desired. Seven of us slept so very comfortable and the peacefulness & serenity of inside and out was 'Heaven on Earth'. We enjoyed superb dining in restaurants and here. Memorable stay in this lovely canal off Oyster Bay The Spinnaker. The MJ Family" - Maureen & family, MD, 04/11/13 (inquire/book)

"My family and I just returned from a stay at the Spinnaker, just yesterday. We all had such an incredible time! The house is in a great location. It has such character, with all the comforts of home. Clean, tidy and organized. The things you hope for when renting a home. Within the home is a large fireplace which we used every night. Nine of us total, and plenty of room. Modern amenities, comfortable spaces, a view that you will find yourself gazing. I will recommend this house to anyone. Thanks Pat! " - Shane, Marlton,NJ, 04/09/13 (inquire/book)

"Perfect Family Thanksgiving on Chincoteague Island VA! My husband and I had several romantic days to enjoy Spinnaker Waterfront ourselves before our family arrived for a our traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The fireplace was great and the views were spectacular. We enjoyed walking at biking the beautiful natural beach and trails on Assateague Island and seeing the famous wild Chincoteague Ponies up close was a real treat. Even if you're not a Twitcher, the birding over Thanksgiving was fabulous -- this week is the popular WaterFowl Week and the snow geese were in as well as osprey and herons and so many other birds that I can't remember. The house had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving feast, and seated our family comfortably in the dining room. We even enjoyed our morning coffee on the relaxing screened porch most mornings, except one morning we decided to catch the sunrise over Assateague from the private balcony on the loft and it was worth getting up early for it! The great room was the place we kept migrating to -- it had 3 really comfy chars and two large sofas, plus great water views in several directions and even a real porthole. The fireplace (thank you for the firewood -- that was a very nice touch) made it even nicer to sit around and reminisce. The house was clean and well cared for with many extra things that were not expected in a rental, but were greatly appreciated. The wi-fi and cable tv were easy to operate and there was a basket with menus from all the local restaurants as well as other information about the area. We did not get over to the Wallops Island NASA visitor center on this trip but did manage to get to two visitor centers on Assateague Island and one of Chincoteague Island -- all were very helpful. At first we were disappointed that we couldn't bring our dog, but then we learned that pets are not permitted to cross the bridge from Chincoteague Island onto Assateague Island because it's a National Wildlife Refuge in addition to being a National Seashore. Pat was great to deal with, made reserving a breeze, and answered all our questions and offered great tips which made our trip even more enjoyable. The house was perfect for our whole family and the grand children enjoyed crabbing from the private dock so much that they voted to come back next year. This house is really perfect for all seasons--it will be difficult to choose! We will plan to do some kayaking the next time we visit. We'll be back! " - Anonymous, 11/26/12 (inquire/book)

"My husband and I rented the Spinnaker to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We could not have been happier. The home was lovely with spectacular water views from the many windows and decks. We were initially concerned that the home would be too big for the two of us; however, we felt that the layout accommodated two people extremely well. The lower deck was amazing for relaxing in the adirondack chairs and a romantic candlelight waterfront dinner under beautiful evening stars. The master suite bathroom with a shower for two and romantic two person jacuzzi was luxurious--just like in your own private resort. The hardest decision was where to enjoy our morning coffee--from the balcony watching the sunrise over Assateague or the screened in porch. Usually the sun deck won out. Spinnaker is very well located in a quiet private community surrounded by lots of pine trees and a short ride to the beach, restaurants, shops and a delicious homemade ice cream parlor. The owners were a delight to deal with and provided lots of information on local activities. This home is perfect for a romantic getaway--as the saying goes, "Virginia is for Lovers." We hope to come back next time with our canoe! " - Joan & Russ, Marple, PA, 10/07/12 (inquire/book)

"DC, Charlottesville, and Greensboro families came together to explore an area known to us only by reputation but one that none of us had visited. The house was just right for our needs. We enjoyed exploring its nooks and crannies and the five year old in the group loved the spaces it afforded for treasure hunts and hide and seek. The beach and wildlife areas are especially nice. Wonderful time and we thank you." - Anonymous, 10/03/12 (inquire/book)

"Four couples, life long friends, wanted to share a get-away rental while we were in town. We found Spinnaker on line and were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness size and location. The owners website had a wonderful description and lots of good pictures of the home. Each couple had their own bedroom with comfortable beds and bath with plenty of privacy. The water views were outstanding from most areas of the house. There were numerous places to sit relax and visit while watching the waterways and the most difficult decision was where to have our next meal or cocktail hour. The dining room and large screened in porch are divided by a well supplied kitchen with pass thrus that make setting and cleaning up easy. We were fortunate to have the Harvest Moon add to our atmosphere. The owners concern with our comfort and ease in their property made it a pleasant experience. " - Lynn, Naples Fl., 09/30/12 (inquire/book)

"We recently returned from a wonderful one week stay at Spinnaker. The home had everything we could possibly need: a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of space to stretch out, and an equally enjoyable outside area to sit and watch the wildlife. The location was great. It sets on a very quiet canal but only a short distance from the bay so the views were incredible from both inside and outside. The website they have with updated pictures provided an accurate portrayal of what to expect: a clean comfortable, well maintained home. We especially liked the screened porch. Mosquitoes can be a major issue on Chincoteague, even in late September, and the porch allowed us to enjoy our morning coffee as well as dinner and wine without any insects. Bicycles are a must on the island. The locked storage area was perfect to store our bikes when we weren’t using them. The private dock on the canal made it easy to get our kayak in and out of the water. It was obvious that the Hutchings wanted our stay to be one to remember – and it was. Thank you." - Mary , Butler, PA, 09/28/12 (inquire/book)

" Thank you for sharing your enjoyment at stay at Spinnaker Waterfront, The PonyIsland House on Chincoteague Island VA. It is personally touching to us owners when guests take the time to share comments. We hope you'll want to return to the Assateague area to vacation soon, especially since we have built an addition onto Spinnaker so now there's 2 more bathrooms (yes 4 total) and room for your kayaks and bikes and beach equipment in our new guest storage area, plus we have a great new outdoor shower and wonderful large waterfront living area with a grill and outdoor seating. You can even sit out by the water late in the evening and relax and not worry about the children inside as you can even plug in your baby monitor, sip a glass of wine, reflect on the great day you had, and gaze at the stars .... something you can't do in the city! "Words can not express my feelings. The best word I can utilize is SERENITY! Working as a nurse can be extremely stressful, multi-tasking, home life operating a poultry farm and children. Let your imagination run wild. Recently my 25 year old nephew passed away in car accident. Everything at home reminded me of the event. Spinnaker is a wonderful experience. The fireplace, the deck, the water, convenience of delivery from Maria's restaurant, WiFi, and cable. The view is breath taking. I was outside sitting on the deck looking down in the water watching the school of gullies swimming around, I looked up behind me and two deer were standing behind me. I feel as though I am beginning to develop seperation anxiety as we are packing to return to our everyday life. I love this place. I guess it's time for someone else to enjoy theirselves. Thank you, Joe and Kat Capone" - Kat Capone, Laurel, DE, 11/03/11 (inquire/book)

"This place is outstanding! The perfect getaway. I work hard for my money and staying here is the reward I receive. It is extremely peaceful and the views are glorious. I will enjoy visiting here again and again." - Joseph Capone, Laurel, DE, 11/03/11 (inquire/book)

"My husband asked,"How could we rent this without a referral to be sure we know what we are getting?" I laughed and we spent all June and July cracking jokes about all of our previous trips, what all could go wrong, how hard they were, afterall its not easy vacationing with 5 small kids. Sometimes we are guided to places! What can I say I followed my gut! This was the first house we saw online, we submitted a request, deposit, and took a leap of faith that for sure paid off in many ways for us. Our 6 hour drive was breathtaking, finding the house was a breeze, and we continued being pleasantly in awe for a week! now that's a vacation..... I was full of excitement to see the house. The view amazing. The layeout of the house was perfect for a large group to spread out. Every evening we spent watching the sun set on the bay. The island itself exceeded our expectations. To the locals you are definately not tourists but merely their guests. We were welcomed every where we went. When you visit the island and stay at spinnaker you will have the opportunity for all of the fun of a beach vacation, a historic adventure, activities and games, a fishing & crabbing haven, great food, and best of all time to feel like the house and the island have been waiting all year for YOU to arrive as their guest! Remarkable! We will definately return. The Riggs Family July 30 - August 6 2011 ps i hit enter in the middle you may need to edit this to put out comment together. Thank you very much for sharing you home with us. We look forward to returning!!" - Toni Riggs, Somerset, Pa, 08/20/11 (inquire/book)

"We stayed at the Spinnaker Waterfront Vacation Home in Chincoteague, VA from June 11th trough June 18th - me, my wife, my mother, brother and my three great nephews. We were only an hour and fifteen minutes away from home but being in this home on the island was like being in another world. We were comfortable the place is spacious and the views from the windows decks and porch are amazing. There's a dock out front where we went swimming, rafting, fishing and crabbing from and with my three nephews, who are always looking for something to do, they had no problem with exploring the waters edge netting little shrimp and other critters. Now of course they want to go back! We caught a half bushel of crabs and some oysters the first day we stayed and cooked up an absolute seafood feast in the fully equipped kitchen. So I would say if you want a best location on Chincoteague Island, the Spinnaker Waterfront Home is by far the best. " - Jack Johnson, Delmar, MD, 06/22/11 (inquire/book)

"No doubt a nice place at one time. Nice location. When we stayed there in April 2009, the property was significantly in need of repair and was very musty." - Anonymous, 02/17/11 (inquire/book)

"Chincoteague/assateague, THE MOST relaxing place I have EVER been!!!" - tom, miami Fl, 08/18/10 (inquire/book)

"Chincoteague was lovely; Assateague beach was lovelier; Spinnaker was loveliest. We enjoyed it all. Looking forward to coming back." - Jo Cotter, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, 06/22/09 (inquire/book)

"Spinnaker, with its close proximity to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and Seashore, is a beautiful quiet spot for a late winter getaway. This was our first trip to Chincoteague Island and we couldn't of been happier with our accommodations. The house was clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the water. Watching the sunrise from the dining room, was a perfect way to start the day. Temperatures were too cold to be able to enjoy the screened in porch, but we did make use of the fireplace. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spinnaker to family and friends, and it is definitely a place I plan to return to." - Barbara Emmons, Amston, CT, 03/20/09 (inquire/book)

"Our time at the Spinnaker house was wonderful. It was a true retreat and greatly needed. The house is wonderful with water views from practically every room. We vacationed with our three kids and my mother in law. There was plenty of space for everyone! The house was well appointed and came with many extras such as sundries, a well equipped kitchen, books, dvds, and games. The kids and I would walk around the property by the dock nightly and would gaze at the wonderful night sky filled with millions of visible stars. Truly extraordinary. There was a cord of wood ready for our use and we did make good use of it. Every night we relaxed by the fire and the kids enjoyed toasting marshmellows. The beach which is in a nearby national park was also wonderful. The town is truly unadulterated without a chain restaurant in site. It was nice to step away from the commercial if only for a few days. We were at the Spinnaker for Presidents Day weekend and the weather was wonderful. Clear, crisp, and sunny. None of us wanted to leave and we look forward to returning soon. Overall it was a memorable experience for all. Thank you!" - Peter and Ade Kimbis, Germantown, MD, 02/17/09 (inquire/book)

"Very much enjoyed the house in a neat neighborhood on Chincoteague. Visited for Thanksgiving with 5 adults and 2 small children. Lots of smallish rooms yields good privacy/space. WAter access fantastic -- canoed daily (brought our own). Highly recommend long-ish trip to Asseteague." - Anonymous, Washington, DC, 12/05/08 (inquire/book)

"We had a Great vacation at Spinnaker House. One of the nicest rental properties we have stayed at over the years. We enjoyed the screened porch and watching the geese, etc. We also enjoyed the quiet nights with no noise other than a "flyover" from a seagull. A really nice house. All of the windows made even the gloomiest day very pleasant. We have been coming to the Island since the Early 80's, with our kids. Now that we're retired and no kids to tag along , we've enjoyed it even more [although we do do love our children] ---but Mom & Pop have to get away at least once a year.--ha..We will definitely be coming back.. Lynn & Beth Sherman Lost Creek, WV" - Lynn Sherman, Lost Creek WV USA, 10/17/08 (inquire/book)

"We got back yesterday evening from a memory filled Memorial Day Holiday with three nights at Spinnaker, one of the loveliest rental properties I have ever stayed in with my son and his family including four children. Everything was "clean as a whistle" which tells you my age. The kitchen was filled with beautiful dishes, pots and pans and bowels and every gadget you can imagine, all kinds of spices, sugar, coffee, you name it. All you had to do was bring in was mayo, bread, lunch meat and you were all set. I had mentioned this was a total surprise for my family and we found a beautiful cake on the dining room table with "Surprise" written on it and a fresh flower arrangement in the living room. The views were "to die for". I could have just sat on the screened porch with my cup of coffee and not gone anywhere. The memory the children will carry with them forever is the opportunity to use the crab pots provided for our use. They had hours of fun and also learned how to tell a male from a female crab, as well as how to cook and crack them. I highly recommend the Chincoteague Island area as a vacation destination especially if you have children or grandchildren. They will love it and you will too!" - Joan Sacra, Manassas, VA, 05/27/08 (inquire/book)

"We stayed at Spinnaker over the President's Day weekend in February 2008. The weather was cold but perfect. We appreciated the touch of fresh flowers waiting for us. The views were great, the accommodations were very nice, and the overall trip was enjoyable. We will definately consider staying here in the future." - Anonymous, 02/25/08 (inquire/book)

"10-05-07 I have just arrived in this house and it is almost nine at night .... It was a 3 hour drive from Annapolis, MD and it is my firt time coming. My mom has been here before and she claims it was wonderful. My name is Stirling, the ten year old fifth grade, son of Kimrey mom) and Marty (dad, deceased) and I hope to write in this journal everyday until I leave. It is dark now so I can't see that much of the land, yet from what I do see, I'm sure by morning it will have blossomed into a beautiful landscape. I will write in this again tomorrow, oh yes .... thank you for the gorgeous flowers -- to Pat and Harmen 'Stirling 10-6-07 I have just woken up and the visions filling my head I cannot believe. Although I haven't experienced the full beauty and I will write later today, describing it - Stirling 10-6-07 I have just gotten back from a twelve mile bike trip, then the ocean and now I'm reading my new book. I have had a great time and I am leaving, Monday, which is such a shame. I will write again tomorrow. - Stirling 10-7-07 I have just gotten back from a great beach and 8 mile paddle in a kayak. There were turtles and fish everywhere and the beach was nothing but shells, oyster shells, conch shells, moon, snail shells, all types of shells ! We have been doing great things this whole time, and I will write again tomorrow the day I have to leave. - Stirling 10-8-07 I am leaving today and I want to say goodbye. I am going to breakfast, then a couple of shops, then leaving. Goodbye Shincoteague! " - Anonymous, Annapolis, MD, 02/21/08 (inquire/book)

"Our Spinnaker Thanksgiving was one to remember. Hard to tell who enjoyed it the most - the adults or the grandkids! Since we've been home, there isn't a day that goes by that our 4 year old granddaughter doesn't talk about returning. Next time she wants to stay for "13 days." Thanks, Pat, for providing such a wonderful place to visit. We intend to return soon and build more wonderful memories. The Murphys" - Beth Murphy, Washington, DC, 12/03/07 (inquire/book)

"Having our children and first grandchild with us for a week at Spinnaker was a very special occasion. The house is lovely, beautifully situated, fully equipped and well, ...very welcoming. The Hutchings couldn't be nicer, answered any question, even some fairly silly ones...we had a wonderful week!" - Judy Black, Baltimore, MD, 08/01/07 (inquire/book)

"I rented Spinnaker the weekend of Feb. 17th for a VERY special occasion.....the first meeting of someone I had been corresponding with for months. While we knew so much about each other already, we had never met face to face....so the location needed to be perfect. I could not have chosen a more perfect "start" to our "forever" story. Even though it was just the two of us, the home was so cozy. During the stay, it was incredibly cold, but we thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful fireplace....Mrs. B made sure we had plenty of firewood! The house is tastefully decorated and furnished with all the "comforts of home." The owners even had a very special cake waiting for us when we arrived, and shortly afterward an arrangement of flowers arrived. Even though it was the dead of winter, many shops were open, so we ventured out and took in the "sights." A warm fireplace, the beautiful scenery, some good wine, hand-picked DVD's, and some slow dancing in the great room....it was like a fairy tale for me. My now "significant other" could not believe the trouble that we all went to to make this weekend special. Needless to say, this house, and those involved with it, are responsible for me relocating soon to be with my "honey." Thanks to all who made this possible!!!! Spinnaker will forever remain close to our hearts, and we look forward to returning! Deb and Bill" - Debbie and Bill, Gloucester, VA, 02/21/07 (inquire/book)

"My family and I spent Thanksgiving together at Spinnaker this year. It was a perfect house for our family to share for the holidays. We each enjoyed our own bedroom, but more importantly loved the large open den and dining room areas to be together as we had much catching up to do. We had a fantastice time riding bikes around the wildlife drive and to the beach. We were happy to have the internet connection as some had to work to do. Everyone enjoyed the big screen TV for the football games. We can't wait for our next visit. We hope to make it back in the summer so the kids can swim and make sand castles at the beach!" - Suzy Wagers, Nashville, TN, 01/07/07 (inquire/book)

"Chincoteague and The Spinnaker House are special. We had a wonderful week, lots of laughing, great food and exploration. The Spinnaker House is perfect - we really felt at home. I rarely repeat vacations, but I may have to make an exception – truly enjoyable." - Peter Gutting, Architect - Winthrop, MA, 05/22/06 (inquire/book)

"We had a most positive experience, our first visit to Chincoteague, when we return I know Spinnaker will be our first choice for our stay." - James McCleaf, Leonardtown, MD, 02/03/06 (inquire/book)

"We have been renting homes in Chincoteague for 11 years now, and Spinnaker is definitely a favorite! The host family could not have been more gracious. A cake was provided for our dad's 80th birthday, as well as a lovely bouquet of flowers. When we inquired about the availability of a crockpot, the family bought one for our use. Although it was December, the time was perfect. Snow geese and Great Blue Heron were migrating, and we enjoyed the Christmas parade for the second year! FUN! The house and the view are simply gorgeous...we'll definitely be back!" - Paula and Phil Bogdan, Springfield, Va, 12/19/05 (inquire/book)

"I could write a book, but I won't. The short week end I spent at Spinnaker with my friends was the most enjoyable, peaceful, tranquil place I could have ever imagined. It was magical, with the sunrises and the full wonderful moon. The house was beautiful with everything anyone could want. I was always up early and enjoyed hearing the fish jump out of the water. The most and best I could say is, I WILL BE BACK. Thank you for allowing me the priveledge to stay and hopefully return. Pam Brower, Safety Harbor, Florida" - Pamela Brower, Safety Harbor,Florida, 10/22/05 (inquire/book)

"We had a lovely stay. It was nice to be able to fill the house with people and yet have space. The layout of Spinnaker is wonderful! We enjoyed our meals on the screened porch--a great view and atmosphere!" - The Hommer Family, 08/19/05 (inquire/book)

"We spent one week in Chincoteague. Our stay at Spinnaker was wonderful. Both the house and the neighborhood provided a tranquil atmosphere, and the view was a bonus. The crab trap provided entertainment for the children as well as fresh blue crabs for our enjoyment. We plan on returning next year to Spinnaker for another wonderful vacation." - Marty & Thy Follmer, Schwenksville, PA, 06/27/05 (inquire/book)

"We spent Memorial Day weekend at Spinnaker with another family and we had a blast. The mom's christened the canoe (we brought along) by taking it out for sunrise on Oyster Bay. It was breathtaking to be out on the water and see the day truly begin! The kids canoed, kayaked, crabbed and fished. We spent Sunday at Assateague and the weather was great for a picnic and barbecue. On Monday we spent most of the day biking the trails on Assateague. Spinnaker is in a great location and as others have mentioned, it has the perfect design for vacationing! We all hope to return again!" - Karen Busher, Wirtz, VA, 06/06/05 (inquire/book)

"My family had the delightful experience of spending four days at Spinnaker during mid May 2005. The house and location were even more amazing than the brochure and pictures online. We will definitely go back! It happened to be my husband's birthday during our stay--a surprise birthday cake awaited him upon our arrival! This was the first family getaway weekend where everyone in the family agreed that "mom" had picked a winner! I would highly recommend a stay (as long as possible!) at Spinnaker." - Christine Peterson, Potomac, Maryland, 06/03/05 (inquire/book)

"The place was very well kept, clean, roomy, very confortable. Thanks you very much for the Crab cages, they worked caught 12 crabs. Overall I would recommend Spinnaker to my friends. Note: you should upgrade the informantion on your brochure, it's a bit outdated. There are many features in spinnaker and the surrounding area that have been added that are not in the brochure example there are more than one ATM and quite a few shops and so on." - Tony Raimondi, greenwich CT, 05/26/05 (inquire/book)

"What a lovely home! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Spinnaker. Chincoteague is a beautiful, peaceful island. Our family will certainly vacation here again! Special thanks to the Hutchings for renting their home for others to enjoy!" - Laura & Joel Decatur, Richmond, Virginia, 05/26/05 (inquire/book)

"This beautiful, comfortable home met all our needs perfectly. We loved the location, all the views, the comfortable flow of the main level, the privacy of the sleeping areas, the fireplace (who thought we'd be making fires in May!), the internet connection with the great view, and the dock (even though I capsized our canoe trying to get out!). Highly recommended and we would happily return. Thank you!" - Erica Rapport Gringle, Durham, NC, 05/22/05 (inquire/book)

"The Spinnaker was a wonderful place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house was absolutely beautiful and we had plenty of room with all three of our boys. It was quiet and relaxing, and we hated to leave. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay." - Anonymous, 04/30/05 (inquire/book)

"The home was comfortable yet spacious enough for our 3 kids. The view of the water from the house created a peaceful atmosphere. The new kitchen had everything we needed for my husband's gourmet cooking. The 2 story family room was so airy and light filled that even though we were inside, we felt as though we were enjoying the outdoors. The house was close to miniature golf which is always a big hit with the kids. There is also a great ice cream shop nearby where we enjoyed an ice cream dinner one night. I would recommend the house. It is well taken care of and has all the little details you need." - Muir Family, Great Falls, Virginia, 04/26/05 (inquire/book)

"My sweetheart and wife had a significfant birthday, and I was looking for a place worthy of the occasion. Spinnaker looked good on the web site. In making arrangements on phone and via email, Pat had me feeling like family. I was liking the house before seeing it. The cottage looked great on first impression. As this was a surprise, Colleen, the guest of honor, had no expectations. I installed us in the master suite; she had us move to the loft bedroom. It wasn't just cool for kids. The loft is just cool. Next morning, I rolled over to get a photo of the sunrise. It was glorious. And I rolled back to sleep. It's a great photo. Spinnaker was terrific in all respects. And Pat's hospitality was over the top. To be perfectly honest, we didn't get to the beach. We didn't leave the house much. In early March the house was cozy. Spinnaker is a great place for a romantic get-away." - Jerry Caldwell, Alexandria, VA, 04/24/05 (inquire/book)

"We have been renting Spinnaker for several yrs. Super Sunday weekend with friends and Easter weekend with our family. It's a great home and ideal for our grandkids. It is always very clean and I'm sure we will return" - Snavely family, Akron, Pa. 17501, 04/19/05 (inquire/book)

"Our stay at SPinnaker was wonderful. This place is so quiet and relaxing. The house is great, full of light. We rented a kayak at a store nearby to navigate in the bay. We had oysters and fresh scallops from the seafood shop next door. Kids loved it. The beach at Chincoteague National park is also a wonderful place to be." - viviane, radnor pa, 03/22/05 (inquire/book)

"What a lovely serene setting is The Spinnaker House! We spent Valentine's Day, 2004, there and fell in love with the place. The layout of the house is wonderful for anyone from a couple to a large family, offering 4 bedrooms on 3 different levels, and the fireplace was a wonderful respite from the cold winds of the wintery beach, to watch movies or play a board game by the roaring fire. The large window in the back of the house, complete with comfy seating, overlooks the water and the dock out back, and we enjoyed morning coffee watching the birds dip and sail by. A more peaceful place couldn't be found for us in the winter. Next, we will have to check out the summer festivites from Spinnaker. A lovely home to spend your vacation, no matter the length of stay or season of the year. Thanks!" - The Goodalls, Leesburg, Virginia, 03/01/05 (inquire/book)

"We took a winter vacation at this lovely home and had a great time. The home had looked very nice in the brochure but it even felt better when we got there because of the high ceiling, warmth of the fireplace and having all the comforts we needed. We particularly enjoyed the layout of the home because of so many windows. In the morning we could see the sun comming up from where we had breakfast, during the day the sun came in the large living room windows and in the evening we could see the sun going down from the front deck. WE enjoyed the Eastern Shores as there were lots of birds, ducks, deer, horses and nature. The home was clean and everything was comfortable. The owner was a pleasure to rent from." - Larry Greco, Clifton, New Jersey, 02/13/05 (inquire/book)

"A delightful time! Great location on the water giving peace & serenity. I am sure the new kitchen brings it all together offering no reason to go out!!" - Anonymous, 02/03/05 (inquire/book)

"Dear Spinnaker, We have the sights and sounds of Spinnaker etched in our spirit. We awoke each morning to the beauty of the sun rising and could hear the gentle music of the water easing into the shoreline. The house became our house for that weekend, and we felt truly at home. Pat treated of us as family, and did everything possible to welcome us. We left the weekend feeling revitalized. As i type this note, I can feel the memories of Spinnaker calling us back. Thanks for allowing me to share this enjoyment. Elliot Diamond, Philadelphia " - Elliot Diamond, Philadelphia, PA, 01/23/05 (inquire/book)

"Spacious yet cozy waterside home with all the amenities for a successful, happy week at the beach. Well cared for and frequently updated. Very kind, considerate and attentive owners. We've stayed there 3 years, going back for #4 this summer." - Anonymous, Kutztown, PA, 01/22/05 (inquire/book)

"I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Spinnaker the week of July 4th 2002. My Mom uses a walker and the house was perfect for her with a bedroom, living area, kitchen, dining room, screened porch all on the same level. My daughter and two granddaughters also stayed with us (my son was the "man" of the house that week). My granddaughter Michaela is a Fourth of July baby so we had her birthday party at Spinnaker and then went to see fireworks in town. I can't begin to tell you how relaxing this vacation was. We had so much fun and just loved Spinnaker. This is one of the vacations that will always bring a smile to my face! I highly recommend Spinnaker. Ginger Groff Lancaster PA" - Ginger Groff, Lancaster PA, 01/22/05 (inquire/book)

"For years all of our guests visited Spinnaker based on recommendations of friends or family who had enjoyed their visit. We take a personal interest in each of your vacations with us as we know know special and few they are over a lifetime, and we always enjoy your wanting to return once again for the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and even 8th time again this year. With the age of the iternet, we realize that there are people who don't know us personally and would enjoy hearing form any of you who we have had the pleasure of having as guests in Spinnaker Waterfront Vacation Rental on Chincoteague Island VA. Therefor, we have installed this guestbook to share some of those experiences whether your favorite thing was sharing the memories of catching crabs off our private dock with 3 generations of your family, or just relaxing and enjoying the water views on the screen-in porch or the cozy fire on a winter getaway. We hope to encourage those who have visited to share their experiences with those who are visiting this site and considering a visit to Spinnaker. Warm Regards!
