The splendors of Monterey Bay are arrayed just outside your door in this oceanfront 3-bedroom, two bath completely updated home located just across the street from the stunning Pacific Grove shoreline and recreational trail. Picture-postcard beachfront vistas, the vast blue expanse of the bay with all its fascinating marine wildlife and the mountains beyond - including the brilliant pink of flowering ice plant - are yours to enjoy from virtually every room in this 1,700-square-foot, single-story house that sleeps 6 adults.
The beauty of nature envelops you in this extraordinary house whose unusual floor plan wraps around a central glass-enclosed atrium, providing a lovely potted garden setting as counterpoint to the panoramic marine landscape outside. An upscale beach motif prevails in the décor, which features a palette of white, neutrals and a range of ocean blues.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complementary wine and a basket of local information. We have also provided amenities in the bathrooms, spa bathrobes and slippers and over sized plush towels, and beach gear.
The house is just minutes from downtown Pacific Grove with all its charming shops and restaurants and the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium. Across the street is the Monterey Peninsula Recreational Trail that goes from Asilomar beach along the rocky coastline all the way to Cannery Row. A beautiful undiscovered municipal golf course is nearby. Monterey and Carmel are only 5 to10 minutes away by car.
The spacious living room features a pitched ceiling with wood beams, laminate bamboo floors and floor-to-ceiling glass on two walls interrupted only by a gas fireplace set in fossil stone. Built-in shelving creates an entertainment center holding a 50" flat-screen LCD-HDTV and DVD player . A glass table and rattan chairs situated in the corner where two windows meet allow for casual dining or game playing while watching soaring sea birds, sailboats on the bay and ever-changing light and cloud patterns. Furnishings include a white couch/chaise, end tables and a coffee table with a driftwood finish. Sliding glass doors in the living room lead to a deck facing the bay that is equipped with a table and chairs so that you can enjoy coffee with the morning and cocktails at sunset.
Gourmet cooks will be thrilled with the bright, completely remodeled kitchen with its tile floor, fresh white cabinets with stainless steel pulls, granite counter tops and top-quality stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and gas range. The house is fully stocked with dishes and all the accouterments for entertaining in the adjacent dining room that features a wooden table with driftwood finish and white legs, chairs and modern brushed nickel light fixture matching brushed nickel light fixtures throughout the house. The wind-protected atrium is equipped with a gas light Weber Kettle charcoal grill and table and chairs if you prefer to cook and/or dine in the fresh air among the beautiful flowering potted plants.
Take in sweeping bay views from the master bedroom with its king bed with Memory Foam topper that can be converted to two twins. An adjacent spacious bathroom has a tub and separate shower. A second bedroom also has a king bed with Memory Foam topper that can be converted to twins. Another full bathroom has a shower. Plush towels, spa robes and other amenities impart the feeling of being in a luxury hotel.
A third bedroom off the entry, with privacy shades, a flat-screen TV and built-in floor-to-ceiling shelving and king bed with Memory Foam topper that can be converted to two twins. Two AeroBeds are available for additional sleeping. All beds are fitted with top-quality luxury linens.
The front and back yards have beautiful Japanese Zen landscaping with colorful native and drought resistant plants. A front-loading washer and dryer are located in the single-car garage. Additional parking is available in the driveway and on the street.
