Beautiful log cabin located in the mountains of West Jefferson, NC near Boone

4 bed, 3 bath West Jefferson cabin sleeps 8

"We visited Rustic Retreat two times in the summer of 2009 and it was truly delightful. The house was so comfortable and well cared for. We found so many fun things to do around West Jefferson - the 4th of July festival, tubing down the New River, hiking and just enjoying the fantastic weather and scenery. My son loved the loft area. On the second trip, his cousins came for an overnight visit. The kids had a great time exploring the yard of the cabin, finding salamanders, counting species of mushrooms and looking for wildlife. I highly recommend Rustic Retreat!" - Jane, Durham, NC, 09/18/10 (inquire/book)

"We visit West Jefferson about 5 times a year and for the past three years, whenever Rustic Retreat was available, it was (and it future will be) our choice of place to stay. To us, Rustic Retreat feels like our second home. It is conveniently located close to West Jefferson, Boone, Blowing Rock and the BlueRidge Parkway. We like the fact that the house is always comfortable regardless of the time of year and that we can either just relax or if need to, work on our computer. The house has all the amenities needed and we would highly recommend it to our friends." - Stephen and Mathilda du Toit, Durham, NC, 09/17/10 (inquire/book)

"My husband and I had a most glorious week at the Rustic Retreat. The accomadations and location far exceeded our expectations, wishing our children and grandchildren had been able to come with us!Sitting on the porch swing, hearing only the sounds of God's miraculous creation provides a wonderful retreat from the busy world. Yet, close enough to venture out for activities, we attended an Apple Festival, Linville Caverns, the farmers market and Main St in nearby W. Jefferson, Blowing Rock, etc. We plan on arranging for the extended family to come next time. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with others, Charlotte Himmelrich" - Charlotte Himmelrich, Boca Raton, 10/09/09 (inquire/book)

"Keith and I spent the month of August 2008 at Rustic Retreat escaping the heat of Aiken, SC. The cabin is perfectly located - short drive to town, dining, grocery shopping, golf; yet in a lovely, quiet, wooded area. The 3 bedrooms, plus loft made for a perfect weekend retreat for our children and grandchildren from Charlotte. Some of the many activities we enjoyed while here were: picking fresh blackberries at the end of the driveway -- playing golf on wonderful mountain courses -- picnicing on New River -- hiking -- visiting nearby towns of Todd, Boone and Blowing Rock --even a trip to Hickory to buy new furniture -- spending time on the porch swing -- most of all enjoying the fresh, cool mountain air." - Keith and Beverly Shaver, Aiken, SC, 08/27/08 (inquire/book)

"A group of friends and I stayed at the cabin for our senior spring break and it was one of the greatest and most memorable experiences we've all ever had! We visited Grandfather Mountain, the Mile High Bridge, and Blowing Rock nearby. We also had a great time around the cabin. The cabin is extremely clean and beautiful." - Rachel, Durham, North Carolina, 03/18/08 (inquire/book)

"We greatly enjoyed our escape to the Rustic Retreat Cabin to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Peaceful and serene setting, comfy, cozy beds and furniture, well appointed kitchen. We loved spending time in the porch swing delighted by the beauty of God's creation all around us. An added bonus-delicious and COLD mountain well water to drink! A great to place to unplug, unwind and be refreshed." - James & Carla Torrence, Apex, NC, 09/24/07 (inquire/book)

"The stay at the cabin was absolutely wonderful. Your cabin is beautiful. We have stayed at many cabins in that area and I must say this was the best one we have stayed. A true blessing!" - Mike & Thelma Jernigan, Durham, NC, 05/14/07 (inquire/book)

"Our family had a wonderful time at your lovely cabin. It was nice to be able to get away from our "daily routine". We laid out on a blanket at night and looked at the stars. Everything around us was so peaceful. I would like to visit again when it is a little warmer. The wrap around porch is such a nice place to have a morning coffee but it was a little too cold during the week we were there. My kids (ages 10 and 5) loved being surrounded by all of the trees and also enjoyed the swing on the porch. Thanks again for sharing your cabin. Hope to visit again soon. Some of our highlights of the week are listed too: Mt. Jefferson State Park Grandfather Mountain Linville Falls Gem Mountain in Spruce Pine on the way home." - Kim Jones, Matthews, NC, 04/26/07 (inquire/book)

"We had a wonderful time staying at your incredible cabin. It is absolutely beautiful - the house is very open and warm, beautifully decorated and the perfect mountain get-away place. We are already looking at other available dates on your calendar - one weekend is not enough! Thank you so much for providing such a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day stresses! We will most definitely be back soon!" - Kristie Butler, Raleigh, NC, 02/09/07 (inquire/book)

"Mark and Wendi, We had a wonderful family Thanksgiving at the Rustic Retreat. We will definitely be back. We had never stayed in West Jefferson before. We've always stayed in the Blowing Rock area, but I think West Jefferson and the Rustic Retreat will be our new found place to visit again and again. Everything about the cabin was perfect for our family and it's only a two hour drive for us! One morning while we were sitting at the dining room table eating breakfast, our 8-year-old son spotted two bucks roaming in the woods behind the cabin. We were there 5 days and only left the cabin once, which was to drive into West Jefferson and Glendale Springs to see the frescos--very beautiful and most inspiring for us all. We took lots of walks from the cabin and enjoyed the beauty of nature all around. Thank you for helping us feel right at home on our very first visit. We can't wait to come back. Tammy Dillon" - Tammy Dillon, Pleasant Garden, NC, 11/27/06 (inquire/book)

"My friends and I loved the Rustic Retreat! Nine of us went to get some scrapbooking done and had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room for everything we needed! We were all very comfortable! The cabin and the area are just beautiful and if we needed anything, town was only about 10 minutes away! And theres an awesome scrapbook store about 15 minutes in West Jefferson!" - Victoria Mosley, Apex, NC, 09/14/06 (inquire/book)

"We stayed at this cabin over Easter vacation. I have to say the photos do not do it justice! It was such a beautiful home. I put home rather than cabin because that is what it felt like while we stayed here. Every room was gorgeous. We had our four boys and there was more than enough room. It was furnished with everything you would need. We loved sitting on the porch admiring the beauty of this area. The boys had a great time walking up the mountain and looking to the other side. We would recommend to anybody that wants to have a wonderful time enjoying their family and what god has truly blessed their lives with to stay here. You could not regret it! We will return to this home and I can't wait! It has been my most favorite memory ever! Thank you so much! God Bless you!" - Michelle & Daniel Conner, Avondale, PA, 09/09/06 (inquire/book)

"We had a great time. The cabin is located on a quiet side of the mountain surrounded by woods. My 2 and 5 year old loved sitting on the deck listening to all the critters at night. Picking black berries growing around the cabin was a big hit. The cows located next door was another treat for the kids. Highlights of our trip: Hiking Fleetwood Falls and stomping in the creek. Tubing the New River, This is a must do.. Kids First Time Fishing in trout pond... What Fun fr all. Playing in Downtown Blowing rock. Incredible small town, family oriented for little ones. The cabin itself is perfect. Large, spacious, clean and modern. We will certainly return again." - Devin & Heather Steele, Raleigh, NC, 07/29/06 (inquire/book)

"1/17/06: What a wonderful surprise we found when we drove up and saw this cabin! It surpassed all of our expectations. We walked in to the scent of cedar and a beautifully decorated home. The owners of the cabin thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, even down to having books and dress-up clothes in the children's bedroom. We stayed with our good friends, who are also a family of 4, and had plenty of space and privacy. The location of the cabin is close enough to town that it was not inconvenient, but far enough that you were away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We all enjoyed coming back from the ski slopes and warming up in front of the big fireplace. This was our first trip to the mountains of North Carolina and we will definately be returning in the spring. In my opinion, these accomodations were 5-star. We had friends travel from near and far for portions of our 10 day stay and they had nothing but rave reviews. When you gather that many people in such a beautiful place, those wonderful accomodations and mix it with great food and beverage, you can't go wrong. We'll be staying there again!" - Kathy Dorsam, 01/10/06 (inquire/book)

"Do you like the mountains? Then you will love this place. My wife and I along with out two kids vacationed here in the summer of 2005. We visited Tweetsie, Shatley Springs Inn, and rested well. The best part of our trip was being able to see the beautiful scenery as a family away from the busy city life. I give this cabin my highest recommendation for the comfort, accommodations, and God inspiring scenery. My family was blessed by this experience and I know you will too.
