"FIRST RATE PLACE!! We looked into several other properties that offered a cheaper price but we realized very quickly that you get what you pay for in this area! Your beach house is truly a "cut above" the rest and we were blessed and fortunate enough to get a reservation during the summer months. "After staying at Seabrook many times over, we simply couldn't believe the best was yet to come when we arrived at Joey's for our 20th wedding anniversary! We love Pacific Beach but we never really felt like we were enjoying the best parts of Pacific Beach staying in Seabrook. We would always rent their nicest homes with at least a peak-a-boo view of the ocean but it always felt like we were never really "near" the beach. Our friends and family who had stayed with you before told us all the great things about your place and the "word of mouth" was definitely right! I think the best things we'll remember is the attention to detail in your decor, the exceptional bottle of wine (yummy by the way), the master bed which was absolutely the most comfortable bed we've slept on EVER!!! In addition, the ultra clean hot tub (Seabrook doesn't have these, much less any other beach house in the area), the double shower with endless hot water (have yet to find anyone besides you guys that has one of those!), the Xbox 360 with over 30 games (unheard of!) and the great selection of books, DVD's and board games to keep the kids busy on rainy days. "Wow! Beautiful home, decor and sunny weather all weekend! It just doesn't get any better! Sarge (Lab mix) and Cocoa (Chihuahua) were in dog heaven 2-3 times a day at the beach. We rented mopeds in Ocean Shores and traveled to the Jetty to watch the gigantic waves. We viewed deer on our moped drive. Made lasagna and watched movies in the evening. "G'day! We were overwhelmed with excitement when we came in and entered through the stairs to one of the most nicely appointed homes we've ever seen! You folks leave nothing to cheapness or tacky. What phenominal taste and your treatment of us was simply divine. Our friends who stayed in nearby Seabrook were a bit dissappointed with their home compared to yours. The biggest issues with Seabrook was space and the stuck up attitude of some of the residents and staff. We'll take your home over them any day! Your neighborhood is so inviting and the neighbors who live full time behind us were so sweet during our stay. We spent our days (rain or shine) on the beach and playing with our dogs Rickey and Shilo. We highly recommend the Ocean Crest Restaurant. Great steaks and excellent wine selection! The Seagate is a great hole in the wall bar/grill with great sandwiches! The Teriyaki place at the gas station is the absolute best! Aloha Tavern has simply the nicest beer drinkers on the planet:) The not so great places-Cafe Tashtego (way too expensive, not enough food and as I said before about Seabrook-way too small), The Windjammer Restaurant (food and service was AWFUL but the drinks were great), Paddies Perch (rude service). I can't think of any comfort that was missing! Everyone had their own space but we could also come together in the great room. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for meals. Loved all the books, DVD's and Xbox games. I really can't think of anything that was "just ok." The hot tub was fantastic! The sunsets sublime! Even with the campsite below, it was quiet. We loved sitting out on the deck talking and reading with the roar of the ocean in the background. And best of all, just doing nothing in a beautiful yet very comfortable home. That was the best! Everyone kept commenting about how beautiful the home was but not so beautiful as to make you uncomfortable. We have been lucky enough to travel extensively and stay in some really lovely places. But your home was one of the few places we have stayed that managed to be both beautiful to look at and yet you can put your feet up, get cozy and feel like you want to move in. That is rare! What we didn't expect was the superior service and the overall experience that other people who perhaps offer the same things in their beach homes, inevitably fall short of in execution! It's hard not to be biased on a place like this since beach rentals are a dime a dozen these days and the misconception for most home owners is to do a beach home on the cheap to maximize profits. On the contrary, Joey's has done just the opposite! Trust me; the home is far better than any picture displayed on a computer screen. In contrast, it isn't hard to find a nice and clean place to stay anywhere on the coast but what makes this place a cut above anyone else out there is their commitment in maintaining a "Gold Standard" of quality on everything the owners have invested. Every furnishing, every accessory, every blanket, sheet, hand soap and luxury amenity is of the utmost quality! We've stayed at a plethora of vacation homes over the years and this home stands out as one of the best places we've stayed alongside (not below) an oceanfront home we stayed at in Maui! It really is that great of a home! "But they're not oceanfront," you say. I have to intercede here because the honest truth is oceanfront properties have their good and bad along with everything else, which I won't elaborate on here. It really comes down to what pleases YOU. Are you concerned more about an oceanfront view or about the plush $5000 mattress you never want to get off of? Are you more concerned about the beach access for your pets, or a home that isn't just "pet friendly" but a home that actually caters to pets and welcomes them with open arms? Are you more concerned about the ocean directly outside your door or a top of the line hot tub that melts your cares away (as one person says here) into oblivion, with a nice ocean view in the distance? I can go on forever about this place but the bottom line is this; no other beach house in this area offers what Joey's Beach House offers unless someone usurps this grand concept with something bigger and even more extravagant. Which in turn, takes serious money to do? By the time something like that does happen, Joey's undoubtedly will be etched in history as probably the first of it's kind in Pacific Beach. "What a great time this was! Joey's house is just gorgeous and it offers so much to people that enjoy "true" destination homes. My partner Eika and I are wine lovers and the key thing I love is you guys have the cutest wine cabinet that held all of the bottles of wine we brought. The complimentary wine is a wonderful touch and your choice of Whistle Stop Red from Snoqualmie Valley is one of our favorites. It's so peaceful here and the folks in this neighborhood are just so sweet! Being from the farmlands of eastern Washington, it was such a treat seeing the ocean from this wonderful home. Although you're not located on the waterfront, we were glad to discover that houses on the beachfront nearby are often frequented with passersby galking in the house windows which would thoroughly annoy me had we stayed at any of those! You guys have an ideal location without any major vehicle or foot traffic and it was a great safe place for our kids and pets to roam and play. We spent every morning walking the dogs to the beach and taking a stroll to the nearby coffee shop at the Navy resort on our way back. The barista there is awesome and makes a perfect cup of Tully's coffee (our favorite)! I would highly recommend your place to people who are strict about finding accommodations that are of the utmost quality and creature comforts. Another thing I want to mention is your book collection is something wonderfully extraordinary! I read 2 books while I was here and my son played almost all of your Xbox games, several of them he's wanted to play for quite awhile. "I wanted to send you a follow-up on our stay at your wonderful house this weekend! We left this morning at 10am, and we longed for more time even though we had 5 days. We cooked a ton, ate and drank all night - it was a great visit with good friends, and it was terrific time for the doggies too. I have to say, your kitchen was top-notch. "Just want to let you know our trip to Joey's Beach House was very successful! Joey's sunshine dance worked beautifully! My wife, Marishka and I arrived on Thursday late afternoon. The sky was blue and there was a nice warm glow on the western side of the home. The sunset was excellent outside the big living room windows. Friday was also very nice with the beautiful sun streaming through the home. Friday, our friends and their pets showed up. We all agreed, Joey's Beach House is incredible! My wife and I have stayed in some very nice hotels, resorts and rental homes and Joey's is probably right on top of the best places we've stayed. The Marriott Waiohai in Kauai is really hard to beat for the location but Joey's Beach House-in several ways-is nicer! We really appreciated the quantity and quality of the appliances in the kitchen! "Fabulous accommodations guys! This is what vacation homes SHOULD BE but in all reality, they AREN'T! Have you seen beach houses near Joey's? It seems there are HGTV wannabe's nearby that have a half-assed idea of what "luxury amenities" means. Joey's Beach House manages to make the ordinary beach house something just a whole lot more special and transcends expectation! "This house is just as the ad describes, "exquisite!" It's hard to put into words the best about this home since so much of it is beautiful and most of all, "unique." You feel like you are staying in a family's beautiful home rather than a the ordinary kitschy "beach house."
