Explore the Maine coast you've always dreamed of in 2009. This is a vacation that most can still afford and on of those places that everyone plans of visiting some time.
Our vacation condo is the kind you dream of when you see those pictures of Maine and the rocky coast and lighthouses, only better. We have a nice quiet cove, a dock with deep water even at low tide, and places to relax both inside and outside, always with a view of the water and changing tide.
This quaint Maine cottage is close to the beautiful sandy beaches and trails at Reid State Park. We even supply you with a pass to Reid so it's free to enter (and dig clams in the Little River)! Our "camp" (that's what Mainers call them) is very close to Five Islands Harbor and Wharf, which was named the prettiest harbor in Maine, where you can enjoy Maine lobster and hand made ice cream. Even closer is the fisherman's co-op with fried clams, scallops, and lobster in the rough (Sarah's Dockside). Take your boat or car.
This cottage provides the perfect setting to sit back and relax, but is close enough to do more if you choose. Historic Bath and the Maine Maritime Museum are just 20 minutes away and famous Freeport shopping (including LL Bean) is only about 40 minutes.
Our rustic cottage has 3 bedrooms (sleeps 4 adults, 3 children), 1 bath, full kitchen, living room and eating area. It boasts two decks, dock, float, a grassy play area and 5.5 acres of woods. For the boater and water enthusiast there are 200' of frontage on the Little Sheepscot River (saltwater) and our float and three moorings available for power or sail boats. There are currently two kayaks available for use at your own risk. We are the first in the area to provide linens with your rental. We live far away and know what it is like to have to pack an extra suitcase full of sheets and towels - and with airlines charging for baggage - this saves our flying guests even more. No worries about our distance though, we've owned here for 10 years and have reliable (and good) cleaner, caretaker, plumber, and friends and neighbors that keep our place perfect for your stay and respond in the case of an emergency.
If you choose to come during our early season or late season, you will get the beaches and hiking trails to yourself. It doesn't get much better than a good book, a warm stove, sitting in our family room watching the tide come in during the early summer months. If you are lucky in the fall you'll enjoy "indian summer" and incredible foliage - not to mention incredible rates.
We are absolutely pet and smoke free so please leave Fido and smokes at home.

We do not have a TV or high speed internet. Cable/DSL hasn't reached us yet. We do have a land line, and dial up access. We also have decent cell service on at least Verizon and ATT. We have had MANY guests thank us for the lack of TV, as they rediscovered jo.
