Located in the Village of Government Camp at the 3800' elevation of Mt Hood (tan roof, lower right in picture). Stay here and you're within walking distance to Ski Bowl East (Multorpor Lodge Base) and tubing in the winter and Ski Bowl Adventure Park in the summer. Driving we're just minutes from Timberline Lodge and Mt Hood Meadows ski resorts. For cross country skiing we're adjacent to the Mt. Hood National Forest and within walking distance to the Summit/Barlow Trail which heads East into the Trillium Lake Basin or West toward Mirror Lake or just tour around the Multorpor Fen Wetlands right outside the door. This quiet top (3rd) floor end unit has two floors with an open great room with huge soaring beams and a southern exposure wall of windows in the living room. It has both a forest and mountain view. The south view is towards the Ski Bowl's Multorpor Lodge and Multorpor Mountain. To the west the view is towards Tom Dick Peak, the upper bowl of Ski Bowl over the Multorpor Meadows Fen wetland. Government Camp has cell coverage for most providers but signal strength can be spotty. The phone in the unit has free local calling to Portland. The building has coin laundry facilities and a ski tune-up room in the basement. Included in the unit is 27" HDTV connected to a DirecTV satellite receiver. The 27" TV is connected to a VCR/DVD Home Theater System in the living room. The satellite receiver is modulated onto it's own channel on all 4 TVs in this unit and this allows viewing the satellite receive channel from any room. Both downstairs bedrooms have a TV with DVD player. The loft has a TV connected to a Nintendo Gamecube with 4 controllers and a few games. In the living room you'll find comfy leather couches and chairs next to our wood stove with a glass door. The kitchen is recently remodeled and fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and grinder and great under counter lighting. A large ski/bike storage room connects to unit next to the entry. Extras include an iron and mini ironing board, portable crib and high chair for your convenience. Amenities of the Resort/Surrounding Community The quaint Village of Government Camp has been revitalized with new sidewalks and street lights. From it's Oregon Trail history to outdoor activities to year around skiing there is little something for everyone. Winter and summer playing includes snow skiing, tubing, sledding, golf, hiking, fishing and Ski Bowl Adventure Park and more are just outside your door. A five minute walk leads you to shops and restaurants and famous Huckleberry pancakes or shakes at Huckleberry Inn 24 hours daily. Ten minutes of walking rewards you the Mt. Hood Brew Pub and specialty beer and food. Driving time to Timberline Lodge is 10 minutes and Mt Hood Meadows Resort is just 15 minutes away. From our rental you can walk to the lifts and tubing at Ski Bowl East during the winter. That same location in the summer transforms to Ski Bowl Adventure Park with an alpine slide, bungee jumping, go-carts, putt-putt golf, mountain biking and many other rides including bike access on the ski lifts at Ski Bowl West.
