A holiday complete with accommodation in an old monastery that has been renovated and transformed into independent apartments, located near the Etruscan city of Cortona and Lake Trasimeno. A holiday immersed in the natural beauty of the countryside, with the possibility of taking advantage of the many services that makes a vacation more enjoyable and permits complete enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings. The area comprises of a large room (50sq.m.) with a country kitchen and an antique fireplace and two bathrooms with showers. The entrance to the main hall is directly from the garden. Monastero San Silvestro is far from traffic and has a big garden with a pool (6m x 12m) which makes it the ideal holiday for whoever desires rest and quiet. The main hall may also be utilised for families or groups who wish to get together. The use of the communal kitchen may also be utilised in this area, if desired. Cortona being situated on the border between Tuscany and Umbria is well situated to see both regions and is also an excellent base to explore Florence, Montalcino, Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Siena, Todi. The station (Terontola, with Intercity) has trains to Perugia, Gubbio, Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano, San Sepolcro (Piero della Francesca), Orvieto, Spoleto, Florence (1 hour) and Rome (2 hours). Nearby, there is also Lake Trasimeno, Italy's fourth largest lake. Situated in the middle of green hills, it also boasts three beautiful islands which one can visit by ferry-boat. It also offers a large range of water sport activities and has spectacular sunsets. Cortona offers Classical, Jazz and other musical events in the summer as well as a number of pageants dating back to Mediaeval times.
