"The Honahlee cabin was great-- we really enjoyed the privacy of the Finisterre area and the close proximity of the beach. The fact that the beach is also an airport was a surprise, but an interesting one--sharing the large beach area with a plane or two turned out to be a fascinating experience and a welcome one. We also enjoyed sipping beverages from the frosted mugs stored in the freezer and the convenient kitchen and dining area. We ate every meal at the cabin over seven days, and saved lots of money that way. All said, our week was memorable and relaxing. "Hello Rachael, We had a wonderful and restful three days. The rain didn't deter our spirits. Lots of walks on the beach with Malachi, we even managed to avoid the plane landing on the beach. The house was perfect; the views from the living room and the master were great. Listening to the ocean pound into the turf was mesmorizing and added to us sleeping soundly. The birds were delightful and fun to watch as the sun peered out from behind clouds. The celebration of my birthday at Ocean Crest for dinner was a highlight, the blueback salmon truly amazing!! As birdwatchers, it was great to see a rough-legged hawk land in a tree just off the deck and to watch the hummingbirds at your neighbor's feeder. "Dear Rachel, We had a great vacation at Honalee. I had just retired and I am adjusting; but the view, the solitude, and that NorthWest by-the-sea beauty in the trees was majestic. We found the house had good access to the beach with just enough distance for us to lose the sand before re-entering the house. The amenities of the house, the barbeque, the TV, the full kitchen, and that wonderfully-sized master bedroom with semi-private porch area was great. We also thought the price was good and it was great to work with you in all our dealings. We will certainly consider coming back. "Thank you for the perfect vacation spot. I have an internal clock and wake up at 5:30 every morning, and those 6am walks on your beach were perfect. Not a single person on the whole beach, except 500 sand dollars, 300 dead crabs, and a family of elegant bald eagles. The second day we were there, I learned first hand that Copalis Beach is the country's only beach airport. 10 small planes flew in from Olympia and competed to see who could take off and land in the shortest distance. It was so cool. The cabin itself was perfect. I actually read 3 novels while I was there, won 3 scrabble games, wrote a book of comics with my kid and watched 15 hours of spongebob squarepants/jimmy neutron/courage the dog. The dogs loved it also, they are small and so we're afraid of all the other dogs on most beaches. On copalis beach, they could run unleashed anywhere (and yes, we did pick up all the dog poop we generated and evern some of the neighbors dogs'). It was a perfect spot and we would love to come back again. Thanks for the great vacation. It trully was the perfect end-of-school,-start-of-summer/father's-day/anniversary vacation.
