Sunset Central, Direct Ocean Front Condo West Maui

USA/Hawaii/Maui/Lahaina Vacation Rental

1 bedroom, 1 bath vacation condo sleeps 2-3 (1 King)

Comments From Guests of GreatMauiOceanfront
"We are the new owners of this condomium, SUNSET CENTRAL. We took over the rental management starting 10/8/06 with great success and better value. Fortunately we asked renters to write down what they liked and did not like. We have over 100 responses included up to 09/08. Our guest comments give a first hand story of the things to do, or not, in Maui. It makes all of this long but also shows how everyone loved their stay in Maui and at Sunset Central. "Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We could not have asked for a nicer location to spend our holiday vacation. We loved the sunsets and Christmas morning sunrise was a fantastic treat topped off by two rainbows! We enjoyed driving the Road to Hana. 1st we stopped in Paia and got some yummy hot food and treats at Mana market on Baldwin. There are places to stop for food after Paia even though the guide books say there isn’t. The CD and book Maui Revealed are a must to have on the drive. Our favorite meal was at Leilani’s upstairs. The food and service was excellent and so was the view. Dan and Patty Moody, Saratoga, CA" - Dan and Patty, Saratoga, CA, 12/26/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"12/6/09 Email: Hello Ray and Connie We have to tell you how much we enjoyed staying in your condo unit. As soon as we walked inside, we were so happy to be there! Everything was so clean and tidy, just as we like it. This was our first visit to Maui, and everything was perfect. How lucky you are to be able to walk right outside your door and be able to view that wonderful ocean! I grew up in Port Renfrew, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, so the Pacific will always be a part of my soul, and I miss it a lot sometimes, living and farming in the Cowichan Valley, as beautiful as it can be here, too. We had the best week ever, and hope to stay longer next time. I hope you were satisfied that we tried to leave it as tidy as it was when we arrived. Thank you so much. "11/14 Day #1 = many sea turtles right in front of us!! Love it already. Day #2 - #8. Drove all over the island, went to lots of different beaches, and never really had a plan. That being said we did go on a beautiful sail (Catamaran) to Molokini. On the way back in a very choppy, windy squall and made for a fun (SCARY) ride back. Then that evening went to Old Lahaina Luau which was so fun! Not something we would normally do but so glad we did! This trip has been really great. Especially our stay at Sunset Central. Our only regret is that it is over. Thank you for helping make our honeymoon special. "11/15/09 Email: Ray and Connie, You're right. We loved Sunset Central! Thanks for the fresh flowers on the counter! You and Connie are so fortunate to have found such a great getaway. We enjoyed several beautiful sunsets. Even a couple that we thought weren't going to be that good because of the cloud cover turned out to have some wonderful colors after the sun dipped below the horizon. We tried a little boogie boarding out from the condo, but apparently we both need some more practice. On the 12th (Heather's birthday), the waves got to roughly 10-12 feet, so they brought out nearly a dozen surfers. We watched from the patio while reading our books. It was very relaxing. We took advantage of the BBQ grills for a couple of our dinners. We had a fun time at the zip line, sailed out to Molokini and "Turtle Bay", went to the Old Lahaina Luau, and ate dinner at Pacific'0. We ate breakfast at The Gazebo restaurant up at the Napili Shores Hotel where we watched 5 sea turtles in the tide pools. We drove the loop around the north end of Maui - what views! It had rained heavily the night before so there were lots of rocks in the road, but it made it that much more of an adventure. On our last day we ate lunch at Mama's Fish House; by far the best meal and the view was great. We went about half way to Hana but had to turn around to make our flight on time. Maui Car Rentals worked out great. After I called them to let them know we had arrived, they arrived to pick us up by the time we crossed the street to the pick-up point. Another benefit was that we were able to drop the car off at Lot B on our way out since they were closed by that time. We simply paid an extra nine dollars and they picked up the car the following day. Again, all of your instructions and recommendations were very helpful to us. It absolutely helped make the trip that much more relaxing. Rick and Heather" - Rick and Heather, Arvada, CO, 11/15/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, Heather and I are so please that we found Sunset Central! Even though we had to delay our trip for a year, it was wonderful! We enjoyed several beautiful sunsets while relaxing on your lounge chairs. We had great fun on the nearby zip line. Visited Molokini and Turtle Bay, and ate a great meal at Pacific O’s. We also went to the Old Lahaina Luau. Even though it rained a bit during the show it was still very enjoyable. We also ate at the Gazebo, up North past Naplili Shores Hotel. Great food with a great view. While there we saw 5 turtles in the tide pools by the restaurant. We also enjoyed the circle drive around the North side of the island. It followed a heavy rain the night before so here were lots of rocks on the road. It made it much more of an adventure. Julia’s banana bread is tops! We’re off today to drive a portion of the road to Hana before heading home to Winter Storm Watch in Denver. You suggestion t use Maui Car Rentals worked well. They were very friendly, quick pickup service and a good price. Rich and Heather Kempsell, Arvada, CO" - Rick and Heather, Arvada, CO, 11/13/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, Our first visit to your condo and we will be back! I have been to Maui a few times, but this trip brought my Mom. Her FIRST trip to the island, and she loved it! Thank you for everything. Highlights for us had to be the morning watch of GIANT turtles feeding right off the seawall. There was a beautiful wedding out front at Sunset complete with conch blowing. Snorkeling at Kahekili Beach was fantastic! (Left side) Old Lahaina Luau was fun, pricey but need to do at least once. I think we had take out from Okazuya three times, I was addicted to Korea BBQ chicken. Each night before sunset it was time to take boogie board out to the beach and swim with the turtles. Your neighbors are terrific, friendly, and we felt welcome. This was a wonderful trip for me and my Mom; she’s talking about all her kids coming next year! Thanks again, Sherry Hayman, Seattle, WA Pat Wartnow, Whitefish, MT P.S. Ray – As you are aware I’m in finance. I’ve had screaming neck ache all year (go figure) but since my time here GONE!! It is better than a massage or chiropractor staying here. SH " - Sherry and Mom Pat, Seattle, WA-Whitefish MT, 10/29/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Here for our 25th anniversary. Have been to a lot of places in this world & this is the most beautiful. Thanks for the CD for the road trip to Hana. We enjoyed the sites and the people along the way. Bought two loaves of banana bread with banana butter. Delicious. Took in the Old Lahaina Luau. Met some nice people from Cuba and Argentina. Went to see Haleakala National Park to see the volcano. Ate at Cane and Taro. Enjoyed beach! Had lunch at Kimo’s. Ribs fantastic. Later ate dinner at Plantation House. Very pleasant! Went zip lining! What a rush. Beautiful day! Ate lunch at Bubba Gumps. Ate dinner at Hula Grill. Seen large turtles while sitting on beach. Ate at Mama’s Fish House. Looking forward to coming back soon! Thanks for everything! Steve and Alicia Cole, West Virginia (it’s actually a state) We are surprised how many people don’t know that" - Steve and Alicia, Hurricane, West Virginia, 10/17/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We are back again for our anniversary and loving it. Not too many people here this week. Owners are straggling in for their annual meeting keeping Charlie the Resident manager very busy. He keeps everything running smoothly. This year we seemed to get into the “Maui Mode” very quickly. For anniversary dinner went to Sansei Sushi, very good food, good service. The rest of our meals I cooked. I love to cook. Backdrop here is great. I look at the Pacific when I cook at home (which is great) but I can hear it when I’m eating here. Temperature much warmer than years past, higher humidity and less rain. But water temp and clarity great. WiFi worked fantastic. We are able to keep track of our business while we are her with no worries. Mark aamzed his buddies back in Orange County California by connecting via internet to his ham radio repeaters and talking to them on their radios while sitting on the beach in Maui! This was a good relaxing trip for us. Accommodations were lovely as always. Unfortunately never did have any good sunsets but the past years have shown us many. Thanks again for sharing. We will be back next anniversary------ Mahalo, Mark and Laura Hergesheimer, Dana Point, CA" - Mark and Laura, Dana Point, CA, 10/10/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"This has been a very good trip. We are healthy, did new things, did old things, improved the condo and had fun. New: We went to Merriman’s for happy hour. Has sliders, very good, and deep fried vegetable. Very good, a bit pricey. Update! Went to Merriman’s again and they stopped serving fried vegetables. They want to serve healthier food. Went to Cook Cat for burgers due to past renters comments. I got a double cheeseburger, $13.00 and could only eat half of it. Very good. Ate the other half 2 days later. While walking down Front St. we saw that “Lahaina fish co.” had happy hour Mai Tais 1-6 pm for $2.50. Best price we have seen. I never drink Mai Tais but I do have one rule I follow. I have to drink one drink with an umbrella in it when I come to Maui. This took care of that. Did a great Hammerhead Shark dive. Saw about ten. Old: Went to Okazuya Deli three times for take out and Lulu’s for appetizers 4-6 pm twice. Both great as usual. Improvements: Nothing goes as planned. First we were going to acid wash our grout around the tiles. Then we bought a vanity top with fixtures. It did not fit so we had to buy a cabinet. Part of 3 days gone when just planning a couple of hours but we are happy with the outcome. Sunsets: Three real nice ones. Can’t wait to see the pictures. 6 ok sunsets but still nice. 1 dud. We are professional sunset watchers. They are their best about 20-30 minutes after the sun sets. We have a varmit carpet stain by the lanai sliding doors. We had it professionally cleaned. Came back twice, not as bad. If it shows up on you do not worry. It already existed. Running late for airport, got to go. "Ray and Connie, Mahalo nui loa for the slice of paradise you allowed us to use. We have no words to describe our time here at Sunset Central. It was everything we wanted and needed it to be. We hope to take a little Hawaiian attitude back with us. We ended up eating twice at Lahaina Fish Co. – not so much for the food but more for the people (staff) we met there. Of everything it has been the lovely people we have encountered that will stay with us forever – Say hello to Belinda and Mike - truly enjoy them. Of course the sunrises and sunsets are permanently etched into our minds & hearts. "09/07/09: Email Just a note to thank you for sharing your corner of paradise with us. The grandkids had a great time, and fell in love with it as we did. We went to the Old Lahaina Luau evening show and found it quite different from the a.m. show... both great, but the evening feast is awesome! We swam with the turtles who were out in numbers, and overdid our boogie boarding a bit (sunburn... lost track of time). By the way, got a new boogie board as one was broken. Left it for the good folks of B-106, plus a case of bottled water. We drove the road to Hana (Beautiful!) and saw the lava tubes & black sand beach, and went on to the seven sacred pools about 8 miles past Hana... the road becomes a bit more difficult, but well worth it. Took a ferry to Lanai and visited this quiet little island for a day. Nice place but a word to the wise... drink bottled water or pop. Spent some time on front street shopping and had dinner at Bubba Gumps (pleasantly surprised) Drove to Honoloa, great snorkeling there but crowded the day we went. Also went to the Aquarium and Maui Plantation. Thanks again for everything" - Ted & JoAnn & Grandkids, Tempe AZ, 09/07/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Aloha! This was our second stay at Sunset. We love it here. We did the usual beaches. Kaanapali, Kapalua, for snorkeling with a 3 year old was perfect because the fish are so close to the shore for beginners. The first couple of days the south and North sell were coming in because of hurricane hitting Baja Mexico. We had some rough waves and tons of water coming over up front! No beach sand to use here these couple of days. We tried a new beach down South Makena, turtle town. The waves were sort of big and we thought it would be too much for our three year old – but we stayed all day and body surfed. The waves broke at shore and did not have the pull back in so it was perfect. Our 3 year old loved it. We also did Napili – over crowded and won’t go back. Kaanapali much better. Overrated beach! Did our trip to Hana, fabulous! We saw a huge school of dolphins way out front of lanai – jumping and playing. There were probably 50 of them. Saw turtles out front and all the beaches we went to. We did the Sansei, Cool Cat – awesome burgers – Moose’s, Hula and of course the deli, and to end our vacation our favorite Roy’s. They are so good there - better than hula and their selection of Sushi is better than Sansei’s, including their butter fish! They ar it as an app. and also in one of their shushing rolls. Just up the street 2 minutes. Next to it is a coffee shop and they do have the best ice cream. We read a previous guest comment and tried it. Delicious! Don’t bother Maui Brewing – not good food for price – need to improve menu and price. We had a great stay – we will be back again! Thanks for everything! We again left lots of food & beverages for the next guests. Mahalo! " - Johnnie, Natalie, Addison Aguilar, Tempe AZ, 09/06/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

" Aloha, I am a grandchild of Ted and JoAnne Petrie. My name is Ariel and I am 12 years old. My grandparents took me and my brother to Maui, Hawaii. It was so much fun! Right when I walked in to the condo all I could say was “Wow?” It is so beautiful!!! And thank you Ray and Connie for sharing it with us!! So the interesting things we did were the Luau which has so many amazing performances. We also went on the Road to Hana, which has so many opportunities to take some good pictures. We stopped at a lot of places like the black sand beach. It had a lava tube that went all the way through to the ocean. That was awesome! We also went to the Plantation and the Aquarium. Both were so fun! At the Plantation I fed ducks out of my hand and it was a great experience because I have never done that before. At the aquarium I saw some amazing sea life. Even going down to Lahaina to shop was fun. Hanging out in the condo was great. Me and my brother loved swimming in the ocean and the pool. We also LOVED seeing the sea turtles! They were cool and so close to the shore. So Hawaii was great and I am hoping to come back sometime. It is definitely a good way to spend a peaceful vacation. Especially in this wonderful CONDO!!! Thanks again Ray and Connie. Ariel and Rolando Carey This was our second visit here to Sunset Central but the first with our two grandkids. We really enjoyed having them with us and thank you for allowing us to bring them. (Only 3 total allowed to stay at Sunset Central) They and we had tons of fun. We went boogie boarding and found that one of the boards here was broken so we bought a new one and put it with the others under the bed. Hope to make it back again sometime. Thanks so much. "08/27/09: Email We had an amazing time as expected. This time around we made sure to spend more time at the condo and enjoy every sunset. It definitely feels like a home away from home. We hit all of the usual spots: the Gazebo, Plantation House, and Sansei are all our favorites. We also went snorkeling at Honolua Bay, which we didn't get a chance to do last time. It was beautiful there and even a scenic little hike down the path to get there. The tide outside of the condo was very low all week and the water was the clearest I'd ever seen it. There was a family of giant sea turtles feeding around the rocks all week and had a couple of close encounters with them in the water. Snorkeling around the condo was also amazing all week. Some neighbors found the giant reef about 50 yards off shore and they were standing in the middle of the ocean with the water only up to their waist! We hope to rent from you guys again soon and we'll also spread the word! Hope you have a great time out there in September. Best " - Jerry Lee, Santa Monica, CA, 08/18/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, We are trying to figure out how we can stay longer. Next time for sure. This condo has been a great location for all our needs. Our son, Clint, was so happy to join us for our first 5 days and was kind enough to be our driver. We saw areas of Maui I doubt we would have ever gone! But we have super pictures. The snorkeling was the vest – right out here and at Napili Bay. Even the Hurricane Felicia that was downgraded to tropical storms turned out to be fun to watch. The surf was really churning out here. But always the sun came out and the rainbows. Lovely. Clint joined us for the Old Lahaina Luau which we all enjoyed. There was time after Clint flew home to shop for the grand daughter’s gifts. Sunset Central has given us a full set of memories and wonderfuil photos for our next album. Thanks (Mahalo) for the memories!" - Karen & Jerry & Clint Skulerud, San Diego and Seattle, 08/14/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Email: Connie and Ray, We made it to Sunset Central and have been enjoying ourselves sooooo much, I forgot to write you and let you know that we made it!!!! How very lovely. Your website was quite correct, although it cannot capture the sound and feeling one has when here. The first night we saw the large turtles, and today we drove around the north side of the island with a snorkel stop at a rocky bay. That drive is quite memorable with its one-lane road and yummy banana bread stop. And still more days to go! We are loving it and Clint is so happy we invited him to join us." - Karen and Jerry Skulerud, San Diego and Seattle, 08/05/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

" Mahalo Ray and Connie! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Maui and your condo. Your tips and suggestions were a very nice touch and we did use them. Thank you. During our visit we enjoyed a number of places to go and places to dine. Among them were Mama’s Fish House, Sansei, Hali’Imaile and numerous others including a small coffee shop located in Kahana Gateway Center which sells the best ice cream on Maui. Even better than Lippert’s. (our opinion) The “Old Lahaina Luau” was the greatest. Okazuya’s and “The Bakery” are also very good options. Hopefully we will get back soon." - Luisa and Jack Anderson, Burlingame, CA, 07/20/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Email: Aloha, Just wanted to send a few words to tell you how our vacation went. It was absolutely fabulous! We had a great time. We live next door to the beaches so that wasn't our biggest excitement although they were beautiful. We loved the tours of the city and the adventures that we found throughout the town and Warren & Annabelle's was the GREATEST!!!!! Would recommend everyone to go to the show! The view out back was wonderful and the condo was perfect! You guys had everything there that a couple would need to make it a perfect week. We will definitely be calling you up again for our next trip and telling all our friends and family about you! Thanks so much for sharing your piece of the that side of the world with us! Mahalo " - John & Michelle Richards, Eastpoint, FL, 07/01/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Aloha! Ray and Connie. We are so thankful you’ve shared your piece of joy with us. We’ve enjoyed it so much. We live on the beach so that was something that we are used to but we enjoyed the sights so much. The view from the condo was absolutely breathtaking! I couldn’t get enough postcard perfect! We took a lot of rides from one end of the island to the other just to look at the views and scenery. We loved that. We took the ride to Hana. Loved the black sand beach. The views were unbelievable. Everyone needs to go. Went on the Pineapple tour and was pleasantly surprised that it was great!! The luau we went to at the Merriott was not good. Went to Warren and Annebelle’s show and it was he best thing on the island. We recommend everyone to go to it. The food was great, drinks were good and the service was great also. Our favorite place to eat a sandwich was Cool Cats. Went to the summit and you really need a jacket. The day we went it was blowing 60 mph and it was 55 degrees. Overall we love this Hawaii and we recommend this place to our friends and family. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us." - Michelle and John Richards, Eastpoint Florida, 06/26/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Aloha Ray and Connie! Mahalo for letting us enjoy your little piece of heaven! We have had a wonderful week here enjoying the condo. Lots of relaxation. We are on our honeymoon and spent our first week in Kauai… we spent most of that week doing many excursions. Our week here was planned especially to relax and enjoy the condo ant that we did!! In 7 days we did not miss a sunset – AWESOME -! Enjoyed our home made Mai Tais with a beautiful sunset on the lanai each night except the night we went to Old Lahaina Luau where we watched it there. It was our first Luau and most likely our last. It was a pleasant experience that everyone should do at least once & food was so-so. A little “touristy” for our liking but remember, we live in Las Vegas and might be slightly jaded with the tourist activities. We had daily visitors like clockwork on the lanai for our wildlife viewing pleasure…. the Gecko (we named him Gunther), the lovely birds and the many sea turtles flocking right in front of the condo! It was so nice… we were wishing that we were here for whale season! It must be absolutely amazing! We did end up doing a few activities… Pineapple tour was informative and enjoyed picking our own pineapple. Went to the Haleakala crater summit which had amazing views, just bring a light jacket since it gets a little cold up there…it was 55 degrees at the summit and 90 degrees at sea level. Visited Tedeschi Winery on the way home… very nice. Also visited the Maui Ocean Center. For those of you who like to hike, go to the Kapalua adventure center & the Kapalua Resort to pick up trail maps. They have easy walking trails and trails that lead up the mountain. We hiked almost 7 miles one way on the Mahana Ridge trail and Honoloa Ridge and Maunalei Arboretum trails to the top… Shuttle service to take you back down if you like. Pretty good hike, bring lots of water! We left a trail map in the information bag. In regards to food… we spent all o our breakfasts on the lanai! Started and ended our lunch at Cool Cat café for their delicious burgers! Ate at the deli a few times - it was excellent as everyone says! Ate at Sansei one night. Great Sushi. Had lunch at Buzz’s Wharf… did not disappoint… had fish-n-chips and fish sandwich – delicious! Macadamia nut pie was excellent too! But our favorite place for dinner was Roy’s, just 5 minutes away. We have actually been surprised that no one has mentioned it in the reviews… EXCELLENT! It started in Hawaii but we actually started going in Las Vegas. The Miso butterfish, blackened Ahi are out two favorite entrees but we also had fantastic short ribs and filet mignon. Their Ahi 10 sushi roll is to die for! We left a couple of menus with all the others. We really had a fantastic week and hope to be back very soon… this is so much better than staying at the big resorts! Thanks again for sharing your “little piece of paradise”! We enjoyed every minute." - Julie & Dan Prater, Las Vegas, NV, 06/19/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie. My daughter and I enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you for having such a wonderful place. Our stay in Maui was too short. Went to Hana, top of mtn. to see sunrise, snorkeling and dolphin watching. By far our favorite activity was the zip line. Old Lahaina Luau very ono too. " - Donna and Andrea Walt, Washington and Idaho, 06/12/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"What a beautiful place! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. After spending a week in Kauai we came here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had a great time and wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate anywhere else. We came with friends who stayed next door. We had an awesome time on the Road to Hana, the North side loop, snorkeling, the Old Luau, the Winery, climbing the volcano, & just plain relaxing & enjoying your beautiful facilities. We kept on anticipating “Earl” (we named the big turtle) to come up on shore but we never saw him on shore. Oh, we also did Warren and Annabelle’s. We also highly recommend this show to everyone. Thanks again for making our 10th so special. The sunsets were awesome." - Jon and Krista Smith, Big Lake, Minnesota, 05/23/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie were here to greet us at the condo. We ate our fist dinner at Lulu’s, then drinks at Kimo’s on the beach in Lahaina. Breakfast twice at the Gazebo in Napili – best breakfast anywhere! Went to the Old Lahaina Luau and really enjoyed it. Mother’s Day we had breakfast at Kaanapali Beach Club, then snorkeling and beach, ate dinners at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Food OK, music was good. Rented Harley for a day trip to the Winery in the hills. Nice day and ate at winery deli. Went on Sunset Dinner Cruise in Lahaina. Included live Hawaiian music, hula and magic show along with great BBS dinner and beautiful sunset. Chuck went on the snorkeling trip to Molokini and had a great day. Lots of fish and took 150 pics which they put on a disk for him. I had breakfast at The Beach Bum Grill & spent the day at the Aquarium. Nice! Another great place is the Plantation House overlooking the ocean – good food. Our last night was happy hour at Front Street Bar and Grill. Great drinks and live music, then the magic show at Warren and Annabelle’s. Warren is outstanding! An unbelievable show that everyone would love. Thanks Ray & Connie for sharing Sunset Central! It’s the best. We hope to come again. Mahalo, P.S. A huge (several hundred lbs) sea turtle spent 3 nights on the sand after dark, right outside our condo. He snuck up without us seeing him and only tracks remaining in the morning. Really cool to see. Aloha! " - Dena and Chuck Wiesman, Vancouver, WA, 05/15/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, the owners, here again. What a week and a half. Connie got sick and finally is better. Went to Sansei for our first dinner out. Saw many whales. Went to Honoloa Bay. Saw my first Spotted Eagle Ray. Every time I go there I have a great new experience. Saw an Hawaiian Monk Seal right in front of the condo. Another first. They are endangered. Had good meals at the Plantation (breakfast and lunch), & Hula Grill (Whaler’s village). Waited for ocean view window table at the Plantation. Good Caesar’s salad with Ahi at Hula Grill. Got bathroom painted finally. Hard job because last owner enamel over oil base. A no-no. Had to scrape it all off and primer it, then paint. Did a Manta Ray night dive with Lahaina Diver’s. Great dive but I think there are better ones. Will be meeting our renters tonight. Looking forward to it. Coming back on 9/20. Until then, Ray and Connie " - Ray & Connie Owners, Auburn, CA, 05/01/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Aloha Ray, Our week on Maui was positively one of the best vacations we've taken. Using Sunset Central as the home base, we explored the Island, north to south and east to west. It would be unfair to rank our favorites for the week since each day brought forth a new favorite. Thank you for sending along the package of comments and ideas from your former guests. Many of the recommendations and comments were spot-on. We enjoyed driving the road to Hana, traveling up to Haleakala, taking a helicopter ride over West Maui and Molokai, walking at Ka'anapali beach and mostly we enjoyed relaxing on your lanai. We ate at many of the heretofore recommended establishments. Enjoyed Lahaina Fish Co., Lahaina Coolers Restaurant, Okazuya Deli and had a particularly wonderful meal at the Pineapple Grill in Kapalua. It was our 30th anniversary. Using your wireless internet access we picked the The Pineapple Grill after looking on-line at the location/menu. We started with the Lobster Bisque and the house salad. The pineapple vinaigrette was very good. For the main course, they recently added a seafood paella which was very good. My wife had the daily special fish - don't remember the name but it was a light flakey fish served over a bed of mashed potatoes with a light creamy sauce that was wonderful. Desert was their "world famous" pineapple upside down cake. (Waitress gave us this complimentary for our anniversary). Pricing was about the same as Lahaina Fish Co. Restaurant overlooks Kapalua golf course and ocean. Service was excellent. It would be a very nice restaurant for your 27th- and by the way congratulations to you. We ended the week refreshed and relaxed - just what the doctor ordered. Mahalo" - Bruce Kaufenberg, , 04/18/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Hi Ray, We missed the diary book. Sorry about that. I have nothing but good things to say about the condo! Our entire trip was amazing and where we stayed contributed 100% to that. The view was amazing and the accommodations were great. Every night, there was a different colored sunset (blue, orange, yellow, pink and purple). And the strip of beach in the front, even though it was small, was so peaceful. We were the only ones on it the whole time we were there. It felt like a private beach! We have gorgeous pictures for the memory books. Hearing the ocean as you fell asleep was just the icing on the cake. I've already recommended it to a few friends who are planning on going at the end of this year. We did a few of the "touristy" things in Maui - Walked around Lahaina, did the Old Lahaina luau, snorkeling at Molokini crater (we went with the Four Winds II and had a blast - super laid back crew and the water was so clear) and the road to Hana. Not a single complaint about any of them. The weather was perfect the entire time we were there too, which I guess we were lucky to have because everyone there said it had been pretty chilly, windy and rainy the week before. Good timing I guess :o) The days in between we spent on the beach and snorkeled in front of the condo. We saw an eel, beautiful fish and to my ultimate surprise a sea turtle, which swam within touching distance of us! We left him alone of course, but turning around and seeing him there made me scream which pretty much got everyone's attention that was snorkeling in that area, ha. I couldn't believe he was swimming so close. Also, while hanging out on the beach, we saw the whales in the distance, jumping out of the water with their baby calves. It was awesome. The week there made it so hard to come back to the foot of snow that waited for us in Denver. I hope we get to come back and visit soon. Warm regards" - Theresa Osborne, Denver, CO, 04/11/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We also enjoyed sushi form Star Market while watching the whales dance. They came out late this morning 4-8-09. We enjoyed the Hula Grill our first eve here and also the Okazua take out. We are also impressed with the location and amenities of your condo! Gifts from Sea Boutique were beautiful and well priced and a stone’s throw away. mauiboutique dot com. We also really liked the Farmer’s Market just up the road." - Bille and Jeanne Wolf, WA, 03/29/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, We had a wonderful week at Sunset Central. One of our favorite times was breakfast on the lanai with bagels and coffee. We could sit and watch the whales jumping in the distance. We drove the coast around the entire island. Some very thrilling one lane roads but had a blast. We will definitely return to your piece of paradise and thank you so much for sharing." - Lorrie and James Price, Phoenix, AZ, 03/21/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We loved our 11 wonderful days at Sunset Central. The condo was very comfortable and nothing beats being a few steps from the ocean. Great! Lullaby of the Ocean every night. Kevin snorkeled with a turtle at the north end of our little beach the second day here. Kapalua Bay beach was fantastic for snorkeling. Very beautiful and close by. Park on north side of Napili Kai condos. Get there early to get a parking space. Perfect beach for beginner and experienced snorkelers. Saw tons of whale activity at the beach including a whale breaching, tail slaps, flukes – just a lot of whales having fun together. Went there twice. Fleming Beach is great for body boarding. Went there twice. Makena Beach was great for snorkeling. Also went to Makena State Park Beach, just before Big Beach. It’s down a dirt road. Gerri had a blast beach combing there. Found a great Mexican restaurant in Kihei called “Fred’s”. Ate there twice. It’s on main drag in Kihei. Great chips and salsa, carnitas, outdoor dining and casual. Paia – fun little town just a few miles out of Kahalui. Great funky little shops and fun atmosphere. Ate one of the best meals on our trip at Milagros in Paia. We had special of the day, Opa for just $12.95. Yum! Went to the “Champagne Sunday Brunch” at the Ka’anapali Beach Hotel. Not worth the $40.00. Food was so-so and the place was kind of run down. Ate at the Deli twice, Leilani’s, Hula Grill, Lahaina Fish (great!) – all were great. Ate at Cheeseburgers in Paradise. We’ve renamed it “Cheeseburgers in Hell” – yuck. The live music was good though. We sat on the lanai almost every evening for the gorgeous sunsets & took lots of pictures. We loved this beautiful quiet condo. We’ll never go to a huge high rise hotel in Hawaii again. Thanks Ray & Connie for letting us enjoy Hawaii from your condo. P.S. Anyone who doesn’t enjoy an ice cream at Lipperts Ice Cream is missing out. “Kauai Pie” flavor. We started the tradition in Kauai and continued it here at Lahaina Lipperts on “Front St. “Kauai Pie” flavor is the best. It is mocha ice cream, chocolate fudge, macadamia nut & coconut. The best! "Aloha. Another great year in paradise. Weather was good. Little cool this last week but it is still better than the snow we are returning to. The condo looks great. Every year we see new improvements. Again we appreciate staying in your condo. We had a busy year. The highlight was being able to watch our grandson varsity hockey game from Minnesota on TV in Maui. We went to the Rusty Harpoon restaurant in Ka’anapali and they could pick up the signal. Technology is wonderful!! We went to Maui Cultural Center again for several events. •Keali’I Reichel concert •Hawaii youth symphony with Willie Kay. It was outstanding. These musicians are fantastic!! •“And last but not least” Jimmy buffet – Fun Time. We went to Whale Quest at the Ritz Carlton. Always an interesting time. Went to culinary school for lunch. As always we enjoyed. Went to Sansei for my “Butterfish FiX!!” LuLu’s has ½ price menu during happy hour. The food was good. Also R + B Steak house has ½ price pupu’s during Happy Hour. Good Food. Aloha for 2009 (Thanks for Sharing) " - Jim and Irene Kueppers, St. Paul, MN, 01/07/09( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments Dear Ray and Connie, What a wonderful peaceful and hospitable “home away from home” you have at Sunset Central. Our favorite spot to sit was on the seawall with a cup of coffee to start the day. Dan saw an octopus try to climb the wall & we both saw whales playing and jumping in the distance. We highly recommend the snorkeling at Honoloa Bay. It was spectacular! For the golfers play the Dunes. Was the best. Each hole was unique in design, rolling fairways, fast greens. We also played Makena North that was also fun. Challenging dog legs, elevations, & great views. Our least favorite of the was Kaanapali. Just not as interesting. For food agree with all the comments on the Deli and Sansei. We would not recommend the Ritz Carlton at the Banyon tree but went for our 10th anniversary, Christmas dinner, & it was expensive for the food and experience. We preferred cooking at “home” and listening to Israel on the lanai. Thank you for a great vacation. Enjoy " - Susan and Dan Schag, Pacific Palisades, CA, 12/29/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, the owners here again. 1/1/09 we watched our first lightning storm over the island of Lanai. First here at Sunset Central that is. Quite a show with no rain here. Installed new shower doors and very happy with the way they turned out. Tried new restaurant for appetizers. Lu Lu’s next to Safeway in Lahaina. Happy hour all = ½ off from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Calamari, Honolulu Hot Tuna “Ahi” and steak appetizers were great. Flat bread is like pizza with lots of cheese and very good. Would order all again. Connie was disappointed with the crab cakes. Brought half the food home to eat the next day. Went to Pacific O at far end of Lahaina, 505 Front St. Had oyster appetizer. Will do again. Bloody Mary was expensive at $8.00. Great view. Went to Sansei again. Awesome as usual. Went to Okazuya Deli three times. All good. Their prices are starting to creep up. Looking forward to your annual 60 day renters getting here on 1/7/09 and them seeing all the improvements. Till next time." - Ray and Connie Walters, Auburn, CA, 12/29/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"01/02/09 Phone call Wonderful 2 weeks. Great eating. Only two not so good meals. Loved coming home to Sunset Central. Saw many whales. Want to come back. Will email you more comments later." - Ron & Kathy Yanish, Okotoks, AB, 12/16/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments Aloha Ray and Connie, “Sunset Central” no ka oi. What a beautiful condo in an absolute perfect spot. We have been to Maui several times staying in places between Kahana and Hana and we have finally found the one we want to come back to. Hopefully during whale season next time. Mahalo for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. " - Craig and Sandy Jordan, Santa Rosa, CA, 11/06/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the ocean any time of day. Went to sleep listening to the waves and woke up to the waves. We weren’t lucky enough to see a sunset from here. Every night we were here at sunset there was so much cloud cover. We did see the sunset at Makena Beach Landing. Wonderful little beach. Almost had all to ourselves. Also saw the sunset when we went to the Old Lahaina Luau. The luau was the best one we have ever been to. Saw a lot of turtles at the shore just before the start of the luau. Saw a few turtles here one day. It wasn’t until the end of the week that we were told that the best time to see the turtles at the condo is about 6 a.m. or 6 p.m. when they come around for feeding. We did the Road to Hana and saw the sunrise at the top of Haleakala. Awesome sight. Iao Valley was also a great sight to see. We ate breakfast on the lanai every morning. For the most part we had great weather. The day we were at the South Shore, Makena Beach, it rained hard in the Lahaina area. Even the Luau was cancelled. We somehow managed to miss the rain. A few times we had a light mist but only for a few minutes. One night it rained very hard. My husband didn’t even know it rained he was sleeping so good. We rode through Lahaina last night after eating at Mala and saw lots of people dressed up in costumes. All in all a good vacation and we would lover to come back. Sad to say we have to go home today. P.S. As a vegetarian my favorite place was down to Earth nature Foods. We would buy lunch/suppers and bring back to eat. Watched some turtles swimming outside the lanai just before we left. Pretty cool. " - Nick and Margo Brease, Brease, IL, 11/01/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments Aloha again, Our trip this year has been great. The temperature was a bit warmer than last year with just a trickle of rain. The turtles were much more active. 1 or 2 every day eating at the rocks and one day over a dozen at the South end of the property. Ocean was churned up through the week so snorkeling was limited. The surfers were having a good time. We brought some friends for their first stay here. They are going to come back next year too. The waterfalls on the way to Hana were disappointing this trip because of the water diversion that is happening on that side of the island. I hope they can get that resolved favorably. Shopped at Costco, loaded up and ate like Kings every meal. Never did go out for any dinner. But BBQ’s worked great, we have the best table in the joint, fine wines, and don’t need a designated driver. Can’t get much better than that. Nice new TV. I felt guilty because we never turned on the old one. I turned on 2X to make Ray feel good. The lovely relaxing time pushed all the problems with the economy and elections behind for the week. It’s quite easy when you get here. Thank you for sharing. We will be back next year again. " - Mark and Laura Hergesheimer, Dana Pt, CA, 10/25/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments I made this a golf holiday & played six x 18 holes in 5 days. Wailea Gold - $185 well groomed, greens very fast, scored 94. Makenna North - $99 beautiful layout, hilly, lava rock scenery. Greens very slow but difficult to read because of the hilly terrain. I often could not tell if I was putting up or down hill. Scored 92. Dunes - $102, replay $50 very interesting layout, especially the back 9. A lot of hidden holes and greens on top of hills. Fun to play. Moderate to slow greens. Shot 41, 46, 37, 43 on the nines. My favorite course. Elleair – seasonal rate $95 Very playable & the most forgiving course I played. Greens slow but in nice shape. A very playable every day type course. Shot 87 & 88. I did not have a single bad experience playing golf here. GREAT TIME." - John Owens, Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada, 10/18/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments Aloha! What an amazing first Maui experience. We decided to island hop for our honeymoon and this was our second stop. How refreshing to come from a resort to a private, beautiful, oceanfront condo! We had an incredible time here. The condo was in the perfect location for all the activities. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We will definitely recommend this location to our family and our friends. With love from Lansing, Michigan Michael and Jodie Unkovich Mahalo! "Guest Book Comments Thank you-thank you! Calling this place paradise is no exaggeration. We take with us many photos and fond memories of breakfasts on the lanai (what a way to start the day), beautiful sunsets, rainbows (2 in one week), swimming with the turtles, snorkeling at several spots on the island, the Road to Hana, the lava fields at La Perouse Bay. We made a point to be home every evening for the sunset, the only scheduled part of our vacation. We have never had a more relaxing week in our 37 years together. We can’t imagine ever staying in a large resort again. P.S. Mike (the natural skeptic) was impressed that everything was as advertised. He thought no place could be as perfect as this sounded. But it is! " - Mike and Jan martin, Spokane, WA, 10/02/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Email: Ray and Connie, This truly is a great place and you were the best to work with for my vacation. " - Phyllis Bailer, Fort Wayne, IN, 09/26/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Comment left in guest Book. This was our first stay without working a lot i.e a real vacation. Visited a couple of new restaurants in Kihei. Café O’Lei was very nice. Will go back. In particular calamari stuffed with Ahi was delicious. Found new good snorkeling location from our condo. Right in front of the next condo complex South from us. Another great Sansei restaurant meal. Got home for 9 sunsets out of 10 nights. Some good some hidden by clouds. Even those were relaxing and enjoyable. Beach steps were trickier than typical to navigate." - Ray and Connie Owners, Auburn, CA, 09/16/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, Thank you for sharing your bit of paradise with us. Fantastic location, beautiful views of the ocean as well as sunsets. We enjoyed it all. Trying to catch a glimpse of sea turtles each day was a highlight. We really did see quite a few. Of course we had one dinner at Kimo’s. Each time we come to Maui Kimo’s is included in our plans. Always a good and atmosphere is very “Hawaiian”. Again thanks for your helpful hints and information you sent us before our visit here. John and Rosemarie Smith" - John and Rosemarie Smith, Pleasanton, CA, 09/05/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Aloha Ray and Connie, Our famous writer Hans Christian Anderson once said “To travel is to live”. We have enjoyed every moment in your condo, looking at the sea, hearing the waves and exploring the island. To us sitting at the ti of the ocean with a glass of wine, looking at the starts while listening to the waves is a complete relaxation. Mahalo, Anders and Nina " - Anders and Nina, San Francisco, CA, 08/29/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us. What a backyard! This was our first time in Hawaii. Here to celebrate our 25th anniversary but we’re still young at heart. 1st day here we rode ATV’s at Haleakala then rode the zip lines…AWESOME! Took a really cool car ride all the way around West Maui. It may not be the Road to Hana but it was a challenging drive & very beautiful. Ate at a lot of nice restaurants, every meal was excellent from the Deli to Bubba Gumps. (A lot of fun) for our anniversary we went to the Old Lahaina Luau. We loved it! Got hooked on snorkeling BIG TIME! Did Honoloa Bay 1st time, then some spots in South Maui – real nice. Tried Black Rock was so-so. Went back to Honoloa Bay – best by far. Also snorkeled in front of the condo, best snorkeling at point to the North (with ladder) Well we are on to Oahu for another week. Only hope it’s half this nice. We will stay here again when we com back. You should be very proud of this place. Thanks again and Mahalo Brad & Connie Eakes " - Brad & Connie Eakes, Topeka, Kansas, 08/22/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Unfortunately we only had 2 days her but fortunately we are off to Kona tomorrow afternoon. Our arrival started with a turtle taking a break on the rocks. Very cool. Since we were awake at 3:30 a.m. we got an early start on the Road to Hana – 5 a.m. It was great to leave that early. Light traffic. What an awesome trip with awesome views. We tried to experience everything from the mosquitoes at the falls to the yummy banana bread along the road. Ate at Mama’s Fish House on the way home. High prices, yummy food and yummy views. Wow, well worth the crazy bill. Stopped in Pai’a for some shopping. Loved it there so we stopped by another day for some lunch. On Friday we decided to visit the volcano and decided to go North around that single lane nail biting drive. Wow crazy driving there, crazier than the Road to Hana. Again what and experience, beautiful views. We stopped at an amazing house that has an art gallery featuring local artists. BEAUTIFUL house and artwork. Bought some pottery there. Found out that the house is owned by Bill Gates brother. Who knew?? Volcanoes are cool. Went all the way up. Tomorrow we will relax before we go to Kona. Thanks for a wonderful time and well kept place!! E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles P.S. BTW where is the thermostat? Peace Out " - Karen & Pat, Philadelphia, PA, 08/16/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, We feel very privileged to be the first British people to write in this book. When you travel half way around the world you can’t help wondering what you have let yourself in for and whether it all will be as good as you hoped for. Well it was! Your first rate instructions meant we found it easily and your generous provision of all the extras were very much appreciated. The best of all though was having obtained the key exactly as per your instructions. When we walked in we both just went WOW! This is a special place and being so close to the sea (or ocean as you call it) has been fantastic. As we were savoring our last evening here we saw an enormous turtle that popped his head up and waved his fin at us. We like to think he was saying “We’ll see you again” because we would love to return one day. About the only mistake we made was not booking for longer as there is so much we haven’t had a chance to do. The many suggestions you made and those of other visitors have all been very helpful. Of our 5-1/2 days here we golfed 3 at Makenna North and Kahili, the former being the a better and more picturesque experience. We’ve enjoyed snorkeling at Honoloa Bay, sunbathing at Big Beach, shopping in the various malls, the Museum of Whalers at Wharf and the dreaded Road to Hana. Having determined to drive the whole way around there was a physical barrier across the road which we didn’t feel we should move so we turned around and drove all the way back! Dinner at Mama’s Fish House was a fantastic reward however and we’d recommend it to anyone. We take away some lovely memories and some quite amazing sunset pictures. Very many sincere thanks and we hope we may return some day. For now though we are off in a couple of hours for a week in Oahu and then the long flight home stopping off for a couple of nights in New York. Many thanks again. " - Andy and Barbi Goulding, Brentwood, Essex, United Kingdom, 08/08/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, We are leaving tomorrow early. We thank you so much for the use of your “condo” home. Very comfortable and relaxing. Loved the lanai and location. We have been to Maui many times so we have seen and done a lot. Our life is busy so we relaxed a lot. My husband says, “Very nice, very pleasant and enjoyed it.” New dining for us. Mala Ocean Tavern. Pricey but good. We had a spectacular evening and dinner at I/O pronounced EE-OH. Service and food was great. Next time we will go to their farm where they grow food for the restaurant. All organic and fresh. We also enjoyed cooking on the grills provided ad eating in. We hope to come back sooner than later. I will definitely share with those we know about your condo and our enjoyable and relaxing visit! " - Don and Jenny Schmid, El Dorado Hills, CA, 08/02/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Mahalo Ray and Connie, Got off to a rough start with the sink hole construction but we took off and saw Haleakala on Sat and did the road to Hana on Sun. The audio tape was great. Stopped at Mama’s Fish House on the way back. What a great place. Beautiful settings and great food. Went to Old Lahaina Luau, Whalers Village, the Aquarium and it was all great. Have taken some sunset pics and saw beautiful turtles popping their heads up. Went to Hakele Pt. today and Dan had a wonderful time snorkeling and saw lots of fish. Me, I’m a weenie and stayed on the beach which was still great and beautiful. Your condo is fantastic. Obviously a lot of love and care has gone into the making it a “home away from home” for all visitors. A wonderful conclusion to our 40th anniversary trip. Mahalo, Kathy and Dan" - Kathy and Dan, Claremore, OK, 07/26/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"This is such an amazing place and we have had a true vacation full of both fun and relaxation. This condo has everything we could have hoped for in amenities & household items as well as a view and sounds of the ocean that mesmerized us daily. Our biggest challenge (I’ll take this challenge any day) was deciding what Maui adventure to experience or whether to just kick back and “be.” We usually chose a mixture of both each day which seemed to make this week go on much longer. We snorkeled a lot. (day trip to Molokini and Turtle Town) Well worth it as is Honoloa Bay to the North. Drove to new destinations around West Maui. Haleakala Crater another day around sunset. Experimented at various restaurants. Favorites were Sunrise Café in Lahaina, $6.00 breakfast, dinner at Lahaina Fish Co., & Leilani’s at Whalers Shopping Center, drinks at Hula Grill and the deli down the road for lunch. We are leaving here exhausted yet rested at the same time. That might sound like a contradiction but the restedness is the peace of mind and serenity we gained while physically tiring our bodies in the sun and water. This was our 20th anniversary and the first time we traveled more than a few days without our 2 sons. Coming without them was a good choice & allowed us more flexibility to spend time the way we wanted. What a treat. We’ll be back. With places like this to escape to we just might make another 20 years of marriage! Thank you Ray and Connie. So much good advice and a very comfortable home away from home. Mahalo" - Camy and Jeff, Santa Cruz, CA, 07/17/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, First of all THANK YOU, thank you, THANK YOU! We love your home so much and feel very blessed and lucky to have found it. We can’t imagine not staying here and look forward to coming back again. This is my first trip to Maui and Brett’s third. I love it here. The beaches are so beautiful and we had so much fun each day going to different ones. We really liked Kapalua Bay. Easy snorkeling. Ray thanks so much for letting everyone know the great snorkeling spots. We went out for a 4th of July sail. Not really worth the cost. I think I would have been just fine to have watched the fireworks from town. We at lunch at Bubba Gumps. Yum. Our favorite dinners were on the lanai watching the sunsets. The Road to Hana was fun. We left at 6:15 a.m. The sights were just beautiful. Very windy roads! The CD and book were very helpful. The best banana bread from Julia’s. I enjoyed all the shopping on Front St. Last night we finally got to see a sea turtle after sunset. It was right near the sea wall. What a treat. P.S. I saw one this morning. Our stay and sunset Central is just about over. We loved every minute. Again thanks so much for opening up your lovely home. We hope to return again in the future. Mahalo " - Shari and Brett Lewis, Valencia, CA, 07/11/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, We had the most wonderful vacation at your condo. We walked in the door and it felt like home. Thank you for the packet of information and guest comments. Both so helpful. We went to Farmer’s market and bought yummy fruit, veggies, spreads, coffee and bagels. Inside the Farmer’s Market and Deli store they have many non-gluten items such as bread and crackers. Great for those that can’t have the gluten. We had heard the Old Lahaina Luau was sold out, however we went in person and put our name on a waiting list. They called us the next morning and we went that evening. It was truly worth it. We made it to Hana. We did a quicker trip and still saw many sites. We started off with the CD tour but got ahead of it. So we use the information from the book “Maui Revealed” in the hall closet as our back up. We stopped on our way back and bought beautiful flowers from a roadside stand. Any Harley riders out there? Aloha Toys was a great place to rent from. We had a nice newer 2008 bike and a fantastic ride. Remember sunscreen. Our favorite place to eat was right here at Sunset Central. We saw the best sunsets! Other places we ate at. Cheeseburgers in Paradise and Bubba Gumps. We also had appetizers at Canoes and take out from Okazuya Deli. Mahi Mahi lemon caper was our favorite. We have eaten at Mama’s Fish on another trip to Maui. We plan to stop today before we head to the airport. It’s hard to leave, but know we must so we can start planning our next visit. Mahalo P.S. We enjoyed the music selection too. " - Bruce and Shauna Johnson, Bow, WA, 07/02/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We loved Sunset Central! We arrived after our shopping trip to Costco and unpacked for the evening, what a great place. The Lanai and the sunsets are just awesome. The beach at the condo is small but very private and nice! Ray and Connie are wonderful to work with! We wanted to make Pina Colada's and the blender was broke; Ray told us to go get one and they would pay us back! We couldnt miss the drinks on the Lanai at Sunset! When we arrived to walked into new furniture and TV, it was great! It is so quiet and peaceful here. Great location from all the beaches you want to go to and shopping. Thanks Ray and Connie, we hope to come back real soon! We loved it!" - Natalie and Johnny, Tempe, AZ, 07/01/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, We have truly been blessed to have found your condo. I looked at practically every 1 bedroom condo on Maui. My husband wanted Napili Bay and I thought it would be too crowded. Well, I was right. We went over there to see what we missed out on and it was wall to wall and the waves were extremely strong that day. It has been very peaceful here and we’ve been up each morning between 5:30 and 6:00 and enjoying our bird friends. We took the Road to Hana on Thursday and decided not to rush it. We spent the night at a tropical flower grower’s guest house. All the exotic flowers in Hawaii are fantastic. Unfortunately we never made it to 7 ponds. I became very sick and went to the doctors on call over at the Hyatt. If anyone ever needs medical attention I highly recommend them. I had all the symptoms of Lyme’s disease. I was walking our property at home and picked off 3 ticks. I must have missed one. Even though I was sick we still had in between times to enjoy a helicopter ride, snorkeling boat trip, and he Luau at the Hyatt. We gave it a 6. The Old Lahaina Luau had been sold out for weeks. We leave Monday morning to fly over to Kaui for our second week. We are staying at a resort so we are really relishing these last few hours staying around here on the lanai and watching Harold snorkel at Ray’s recommended spots. We were also blessed to have double rainbows directly in front of us this morning. Mahalo for making my first trip to Hawaii a memorable one." - Pam and Harold Obermiller, Waxhaw, NC, 06/23/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray & Connie, Thanks so much for allowing us to enjoy Sunset Central. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary. The most relaxing and enjoyable vacation I have ever had. The weather was perfect. Sunny and breezy. The sunsets were unbelievable and being on the lanai and in the morning listening to the birds. The Road to Hana was great. ) Like a picture book) Thanks for the use of the tape. Snorkeling out from the condo was great. We ate at the Deli and Kimo’s and both were great. Our first time in Hawaii but won’t be the last. So much to see and do. Thanks again for the use of your condo & all the extras that you don’t get from most places. P.S. all that hard work in remodeling really looks good." - Stephen and Maggie McFarland, Houston, TX, 06/08/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, Sunset Central was great! We came looking to relax and we were successful. Thank you so much for all the advice and communications. We did so many activities while here besides watching the sunsets every evening. The zip line was a blast. We did the road to Hana as well and we would have to say, WOW! Spend more time site seeing than actually going to Hana on your next trip. We celebrated Madeline becoming a veterinarian and our 6th wedding anniversary. Again it was amazing and we will look forward to another visit….. ." - James and Madeline Lowry, Ames, IA, 05/28/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Aloha. Boy what a great choice we made by staying at Sunset Central. We usually stay at a resort. But this time was worth the change. Can’t Beat the OCEANFRONT ~ GOUND LEVEL VIEW! We were on our 5th anniversary. We were married on May 11th 2003 at Kaanapali Beach! Most of the stay was at the beach relaxing. It was nice to spend time at this little beach and lounge in the chairs right outside the lanai. It was very quiet and peaceful here. We made the trip to Hana. Over 12 hrs. WOW! Make sure you stop and get fresh fruit and banana bread at the stops at the stands in and around Hana. Yum! Best ever! The trip was beautiful. Take the CD but make sure you take the book “Maui Revealed”. It is in the hall closet. It gives you little places to go and see that the CD doesn’t. It is a great book for all the secrets and directions to beaches on the island. It is the bible. We took it everywhere. We ate out at Lahaina Fish Co., Kimo’s, Rusty Pelican, Moose’s, Leilani’s. The BEST happy hour is Moose’s. You call until 7 p.m. $3.00 cheap! Great View! We had the fish tacos. They were great. Kimo’s was very good. My husband had the prime rib and it was very good. My Mahi Mahi was excellent! Great Service! Do not recommend the Lahaina Fish Co. was not good. Leilani’s at Whalers Village was very good. Eat at the bar area. Had Calamari for appetizer. It was the best we ever had. Fish and Chips were awesome. Made from Ono. Will not be able to eat them again in the States it was so good. We love Maui! Beaches were great! Kaanapali for swimming, Kapalua for snorkeling, Big Beach down in Wailea for body surfing. Well worth the drive. Beautiful beach and fabulous sand, so soft. The beach is so big there were no crowds. We saw a huge turtle swimming with us at Kaanapali. It was great! He was huge! Thanks again! We loved it!!" - Johnny & Natalie, Tmpe, AZ, 05/18/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Dear Ray and Connie, We had a great time, not enough time though. We needed at least 3 more days. Oh well. We made every day count. One of our highlights was driving down Front St. to pick our dinner spot. We had fun at Bubba Gumps but we enjoyed he setting for a romantic dinner at Lahaina Fish Co. The food was wonderful. Recommend the Opah and Swordfish dinners. We had the most fun snorkeling at Kahekili Beach Park. No waves, perfect for snorkeling. Another thing we did was a snorkeling trip to Molokini Crater on the Pride of Maui Cruise. Good lunch and very nice people. Every morning we sat on the lanai and ate our breakfast. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your condo. It was wonderful. P.S. The wind blew the whole time. Next time we will try a different month P.S.S. We saw the baby Gecko on the toilet seat. So cute " - Dave & Lynette, Cashmere, WA, 05/09/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie, We had a memorable stay at Sunset Central for our 25th wedding anniversary. Thanks for the flowers, they were a wonderful welcome. This was our first visit to Maui and first time staying in a condo. I think our hotel days are over. We were very comfortable here. One day while enjoying cocoa and coffee on the lanai we saw the tail of a whale and the most brilliantly colored rainbow ever seen. We took the ferry to Lanai and went to Lanai City. Lunch at the Blue Ginger Cafe, visited to the cultural center and browsing at a few shops. Such a peaceful hamlet. The return ride on the ferry was like being on a bucking bronco for one hour for a usually 45 minute ride. Ocean surges in the p.m. – beware. I kept my eyes closed the entire return and kept lunch intact! We also went to Wailuku to visit the Bailey House Museum. We drove to Kapalua and lunched at the Plantation House. What a panoramic view and good fish too. Drove to South maui Kihei and lunch at the 5 Palms in the Maui Mana Kai condo. (Found in Frommers 2003-took a chance it was still there) Excellent banana macadamia nut pancakes (yes lunch) at open window side table. Great view of Molokini. Went to Ocean Center also. Great expectation but not the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. Lunch at Mai Tai’s in Lahaina - yum! Pups (coconut shrimp) and island cob salad – delish. A new restaurant. Lunch also at Hula Grill at Whaler’s Village. As you can tell we lunched our way throughout. Okazuya deli was great also. Some say Maui no Ka Oi – we say Sunset Central No ka Oi!" - Scott and Denise Richmond, Sacramento, CA, 04/24/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"4/14/08 Email: Ray and Connie, thank you so much for the nice stay at your condo. We had a great week with plenty to do and some good rest time also. Your condo was everything you said it was and did not leave us needing anything. We did the chopper ride of south and east Maui. That was really cool. Also the Reef Dancer and a whaling watch tour. The first day we arrived we sat on the lanai and watched the whales jumping and a couple turtles went by about 100 yards out. The turtles, not the whales, they were further out. The Deli was great, we ate there 3 times. Salmon, fish & chips, mahi mahi and teriyaki steak. all good. On the last day we spent some time in Lahaina and had lunch at the cool cat cafe, they have the best burgers, and for a limited time they are running a special from 2-7 each day, $5.00 burgers, big burgers. Pass on the info to your renters. We only saw 1 sunset for the week, it was a little rainy all week, but we are happy to take that burden off everyone else. I have included pictures of the sunset. Ray notice the tip of your new palm tree on the right side of the picture. I also included a picture of the new tree. One day we saw a rainbow connect Molokai and Lanai islands. Didn't get it on film. Thanks again for the wonderful week in your home away from home... " - Bill & Pat Nicolai, Parker, CO, 04/14/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"OK all. We have taken the week of rain for all of you! Even with the rain we had a wonderful time. We agree with everyone’s comments. We took an hour helicopter trip for an overview of the island. It was beautiful, especially around Hana. 7 waterfalls and lush rainforest. Other activities we did in the rain. It was still fun and relaxing “Sunset Central” was terrific. Home away from home. " - Pat & Bill Nicolai, Parker, CO, 04/12/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Hi Ray and Connie, Wow, this is an incredible place to stay! We had amazing views of whales breaching right from the lanai here at Sunset Central! We also saw rainbows and perfect sunsets…What an incredible setting for us to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Some of the highlights from our trip: The Seven Pools of Hana. It took us about 11 hours total, including all stops (including watching surfers on the North Shore and dinner at flat Company (organic pizza in Paia) The trip is beautiful, but one thing to remember is it’s the journey, not just the destination that makes it such an incredible day. We stopped to enjoy many beautiful waterfalls and views along the way. (tip – pack a cooler w/lunch and snacks) Snorkeling at Black Rock by the Sheraton- easy access & a beautiful beach… plus we saw a lot of great fish and a sea turtle. Great place for beginning snorkelers. We went on a whale watching cruise 2 separate times. Lanai Wild Dolphin Snorkel cruise. Both were with Pacific Whale Foundation. On the snorkel cruise we saw lots of whales, spinner dolphins and a Manta Ray (all from the boat) and saw beautiful fish, reef and sea turtles in the water. Took a drive North of here and ended up in some very narrow roads in a mountainous area…the scenery was beautiful. We ate at several places but some highlights were Leilani’s at Sunset, Canoes (great early bird specials) and Rusty Harpoon. Thank you for sharing “Sunset Central” with us! "4/9/08 email: Hi Ray and Connie, Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us! We had a wonderful time in Maui and some of our favorite moments were sitting on the lanai watching the whales jump in the distance! It was the perfect place to celebrate our 30th anniversary... Thank you for the beautiful flowers in the condo and the phone call to check to make sure everything was ok! Your condo is so well equipped and comfortable and has a million dollar view! The information you sent ahead of time was very helpful as well. We will definitely recommend Sunset Central to anyone that we know that might be going to Maui and hopefully we will get to get to come back sometime also!! Thank you again for everything! "This place was perfect for our honeymoon. My husband and I just got married on March 17th in Kauai! The wedding was AMAZING. This was a perfect place to relax and unwind. Some of our favorite things were: Snorkeling in Honoloa Bay (The Best), Breakfast at Napili Kai Sea Horse, snorkeling Turtle Town (we saw 3 sharks!), surfing wherever we could. It was pretty flat. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place. " - Lindsey & Jeremy Lowry, Huntington Beach, CA, 03/27/08( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"We are first time visitors of the Island of Maui. We came here to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We spent two nights in Hana and did some great hikes to waterfalls and thru bamboo forests. The book “Maui Revealed” became our bible. His tips and directions we found to be right on. It even tells you where to park at everywhere from hiking trails to Lahaina. Being able to stay two nights there really let us enjoy the trip and many adventures. We stayed at a great little cottage 3 miles out of town called “The Hideaway”. $75/night and up. (Tom at accommodations 1-808-248-7868) Pack yourself some food and coffee or buy it at the local market in Hana. After 3 days in lush Hana, we were somewhat taken aback by the dry landscape and traffic as we approached Lahaina. Then…….. we turned the key in B-106, dropped our luggage and were squealing like little girls as we immediately saw the whales jumping. Yes Paradise Found. Our 10 days here have been filled with beautiful sunsets and great weather. The people here are very friendly and a great resource. There are great places to eat between here and Star market. The deli was a hit (as everyone has mentioned) We also enjoyed the Piazza Paradaiso (both the piazza and pasta) Java Jazz is a fun place to eat or just get a beverage. There’s a bar on one side and a coffee bar on the other side with tables in between. Live music M-Sat 7-9. Every Friday night the galleries are open in Lahaina from 7-10. You can meet some of the artists and have a glass of wine in some. Really wonderful mix of great art. We left here at 3:10 yes a.m., and made the trip to Haleakala for the sunrise. It was one of the highlights of our trip. It was so clear we saw the Milky Way. We brought lots of warm clothes from here and luckily there was no wind and 47 degrees. The road up was really well marked and you are above the clouds. It was an awesome experience. I both dove and snorkeled and I agree with Ray that Honoloa Bay to the North of us was wonderful. The water was yucky when you first get in but swim to the reef to the right and you will find many different types of fish and perhaps a turtle. I could go on and on as you can see we have had a fun filled and memorable holiday and celebration. We can’t wait to come back and we have not left yet. Thank you so much Ray and Connie for the beautiful flowers and for sharing Sunset Central. "Aloha Ray and Connie, Another good year! 24th time. Loved staying in B-106. Mahalo for sharing. Minnesota has had a very cold and snowy winter so we are really happy to be here. We were happy to be on the lanai for many sunsets. (Sunset Central is a perfect name!!) Got out one evening and saw a “Moon Bow”, like a rainbow only grey in color. Also early in the a.m. saw some beautiful “Moon Sets” come right down to the ocean and disappear. Our only new dining experience this year was Sansei. It was excellent. Butterfish was one of our favorites. Now it is time for Aloha. Mahalo again for sharing this beautiful place with us. "Every second here was precious to us. We’re sorry the weather wasn’t a little more cooperative, but who cares; it’s not snow! This little place was a haven to us. Ray, thank you for checking in on us to see how we were doing. Nice touch. All in all look forward to returning. Our favorite place to eat was Buzz’s Wharf. Just fantastic sea food. Loved the birds singing out here. Every day felt like the first day of Spring. I’m lonesome already for Sunset Central. All in all – Thank you! Magic show was great. Weather outstanding. Today on the 14th of Dec. we watched the whales breach just outside the reef. Great trip. Thank you for letting us use your house. It was a wonderful trip. "“SUNSET CENTRAL” is a perfect name for this condo. This was our first trip to Maui and from all accounts we experienced the most powerful storm in over 30 years. It was incredible. Kihei got it much worse than us. We thoroughly enjoyed this condo. It was everything Ray and Connie said it was and much more. We saw dozens of turtles right in front of the condo and being able to snorkel right here was a nice surprise. We will never stay in a resort again. Snorkeling at Molokini was nice. Never got to Hana but it is on our list. We had some activities cancelled due to weather conditions but we had an incredibly relaxing vacation and that’s why we came anyway. We saw some beautiful sunsets and had some tasty BBQ’s. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at “Sunset Central”. It was excellent. We will be back. "11/17/07 to 11/22/07 Stay: 12/03/07 Email Ray and Connie, I apologize for taking so long to respond. We loved Maui and LOVED your condo. You had everything we needed (and more)! Very clean too. It was perfect for the 3 of us. Megan (15 yrs) slept on the sleeper sofa and got to go to sleep every night listening to the waves crashing. I woke up every morning before dawn (around 4:00-4:40); used the great little night light in the kitchen so I could make coffee without waking up Megan; went out to the lanai in the dark...listened to the ocean and read my book (great dimmer light!), waiting for the sun to rise. One of the boogie boards was already broken when we got there; tried to use it at Napili beach; got smashed by a wave and broke the boogie board even more.....we replaced it. Great neighbors...talked to Chuck for a while early one morning. Very friendly. He has a nice deal going for ten years. Saw a monk seal (N5) resting on the beach all day (from morning until at least 9 pm)...we learned it's endangered, so that was pretty neat to see. Got some good pictures of it. Your "Favorites" was very helpful as well as the guest book. Between those two things and my own research, we had a good idea of the things we wanted to do and restaurants to try. Ulua Beach was incredible snorkeling. Trilogy Excursion was fantastic. Only 47 people on the catamaran, and you're served continental breakfast, snacks, drinks, lunch. Great crew. Molokini was too dangerous to snorkel that day, so they took us to a turtle town. It's surreal snorkeling with the sea turtles. Boss Frog's became our best friends for the week. We rented snorkeling equipment for the 3 of us for only $90 total. We were in there everyday doing or buying something. Excellent prices. I got a Hawaiian dress to wear to the luau for $10!! Bad Ass coffee down the street was also great. Suffice it to say, we had a wonderful time. It's the first time in my life when I came home from vacation and I was actually depressed for a few days because I wanted to be back in Maui. What made it so spectacular was staying at Lokelani in your condo. The oceanfront view can't be replaced. Thank you for everything! "We arrived after dark, we could hear the crashing waves, but had to wait until morning. WOW, what a sight. It is so beautiful here. Just sitting out on the lanai is a vacation within itself. The condo is so well equipped and clean! You have everything we need and more! -Boss Frogs down the street. We rented snorkel equipment for the week, only $90.00 for all three of us -Kaanapali Beach – nice long beautiful beach for swimming & snorkeling. My husband and 15 year old daughter shorkeled to Black Rock, saw sea turtles -Great lunch at Hula Grill, outdoors and lively & great people -More snorkeling/swimming here at condos -The best snorkeling at Ulua Beach. in front of Renaissance Wailea Resort. Easy access to coral reef. We saw turtles, octopus, ray, hundreds of fish -Kimo’s Restaurant on Front St.. Great meal and gorgeous view sitting outside. Lots of shops on Front St. -Trilogy snorkel/scuba excursion from 8 am to 2 pm was great. Took us to turtle town and swam with giant sea turtles. I felt like a child every time I saw one, it was so exciting. Trilogy served continental breakfast and only 47 people on the sailing catamaran. Awesome experience I’ve gotten up every morning between 4-5 and sat on the lanai for a few hours. This view and the sound of the crashing waves will truly be missed. Thank you so much for making your condo available. We couldn’t have asked for more. "Ray & Connie, I must admit that enjoying time in your condo minimized the onset of my birthday! (a painful one) We enjoyed the true aspect of “Home away from home”!! As our first trip to Maui, we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and ability to enjoy many beaches and the view from your lanai. The Deli and Fish Market were our favorites as traveling with a 2 year old can be challenging. We filled our trunk with your picnic necessities and hit the road for various road trips. Honestly the turtles, gecko’s, crabs and snails by the pool were Cohen’s favorites. Thank you for sharing your home with us! Ed, Stacey & Cohen" - Ed, Stacey & Cohen Silver, Calgary Alberta, CAN, 11/17/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"This was our second stay in your condo and can’t wait for the third. The best part of our stay, like the last time is the simple pleasure of sitting on the lanai with home made Mai Tai’s. There is no other place in the world as calming, inspiring, and beautiful as your lanai at sunset. Our favorite adventure this time was the Nakalele Blow hole, walking there the long way around is surreal, and the hole itself, WOW. We arrived at high tide and the spout was just booming. Snorkeling Honoloa Bay was a treat… once we got over the rocks into the water we saw spectacular fish. We also drove the wrong way to Hana. Well, not quite to Hana because the road is closed. It’s a thrilling adventure to ride if you have a jeep or other 4WD with a high ground clearance and a steel stomach. Half the road is gone and warning signs are posted everywhere. But just keep going! For dining out we always love Sansei for sushi, and the Lahaina bakery for vacation only, really bad for you cheese Danish’s, muffins, cookies, and other treats. We ate at the Plantation House, expansive views and excellent service. Darn good fish too. Get there early & ask for a window seat. Halloween in Lahaina is a blast. It’s a little bit like New Orleans, or a touch of the Castro… but a little more family friendly. You can park on the street behind Longs and stroll into town, or take a shuttle bus. Look around the condo for costume material. I went as a cereal killer using a Raisin Bran box and Carl dressed as a Caesar in a nice toga, using bed sheets. (We washed everything of course!) Lots of turtles on the left side of the sea wall. Napili Beach was our favorite this time. "Ray and Connie, We are back after two glorious weeks on that beautiful island - and two weeks was not enough. Many Thanks for allowing us to spend our time in what could not have been a better location and set up for our vacation. There wasn't anything that we needed that you did not have in your condo. Tastefully decorated, well stocked with everything and located in a perfect area. Your directions, pictures and maps were exact. Sunset Central is a very appropriate title for what you offer. No matter what our activity was for the day, we were always anxious to get back home for cocktails and sunsets on the lanai. There is only one place to stay when we come back to Maui - Sunset Central. We were pleased to see that the pictures on your web site are real! Our favorites pretty much mirrored what people have stated in the past. The Road to Hana is a must. The Plantation House Restaurant was our favorite for any meal. Expensive but worth it. We only had one bad meal and that was at Moose McGillicuddy's. The jazz and cocktails at Canoes was great. We tried Giovanis and found it very average. BJ's pizza and Maui Brewing Co were both good. Cheeseburger in Paradise and Buzzs Wharf were great views and atmosphere but just OK meals. The back road from the airport - through Kapalua was beautiful and can be traveled with a car. Not quite as picturesque as Hana, but less demanding also. I took us about an hour to drive. Lahaina Divers is a great dive shop. Professional, safe, modern dive boats and offer a wide variety of dives. Turtles, eels, sharks, you name it - we saw it. Golf - Kapalua is a must, we reserved a twilight rate, showed up early and they let us on. We were able to complete 18 in time. Kahili, Wailea, and the Dunes were all good courses. Elleair and Pukalani were average. I heard many good things about Makena but ran out of time. Sunshine Helicopters gave us a wonderful and informative view of the entire island. Also, very professional. Blue Water Rafting has a reasonable tour that boats you back to an area you can't get to by land. Also offers stops to snorkel with turtles and to Molokini. It may seem strange for a Maui vacation, but Warren and Annabelles Magic show was very entertaining. We happened to meet the magician on a golf course and decided to check out the show because of him. We are so glad we did. Humorous, fascinating and well worth the time and money. You can get appetizers and drinks before the show in a very tasteful lounge. The only thing we would do different next time is to skip Costco. We found the prices were similar to the Star Mart close to the condo and of course, smaller quantities. We did over stock on a few things that either went to waste or left behind. Again - we compliment you on your location and appointments to your condo. Never again will we waste our time and money on a crowded, impersonal resort. Until next time - Mahalo - we couldn't have asked for more. " - Kurt Diane Zimerman, Glendale, AZ, 10/27/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"10/13/07 to 10/26/07 guest comment: Ray & Connie, Many thanks for a great setup. We couldn’t think of anything that was not available to us that needed or wanted. We couldn’t imagine staying in a large resort again. We are sold on condo life. Some of our favorites: The awesome sunsets! Plantation House restaurant is a great place for dinner. Road to Hana. Sunshine helicopters. Lahaina Divers are very professional and very fun to dive with. Highly recommend using them. Sunset Central is the best place to stay on Maui. "10/5/07 to 10/13/07 Stay: 10/16/07 Email Hi, Your condo was great. Absolutely beautiful. We had a great time. We did many of the fun things that you recommended. We attended the Old Lahaina Luau, we went on one of the dinner cruises, we took a ferry for a day trip to the island of Lanai and many other fun and exciting things. We watched sea turtles playing in the water just about 10-20 feet out in the water right in front of the condo. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place with us. We enjoyed our 22nd anniversary and Ted's birthday while we were in Maui. Again, Thank you so much for everything. "First off, WOW, we could not have dreamed of a better place to spend our anniversary. We spent most evenings watching the sea turtles just outside our door. We took one of the dinner cruises one night and it was very nice. One day we took the ferry from Lahaina to the island of Lanai. Had no idea how beautiful it was going to be. What a great little surprise. Well worth spending the price of the ferry to spend a day over there. We did the Old Lahaina Luau for breakfast. We found out too late that the dinner show sells out quickly and you really need reservations about 2-3 weeks in advance. Also well worth seeing is the Maui Ocean Center. Aloha Mixed Plate is a great lunch place in Lahaina on Front St. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is a nice place for dinner. We had such a great time here we hope to be able to return someday soon. "Paradise! I promised my hubby that for our anniversary trip and Paradise he got! This really is what I had been hoping to find when I started making plans for this trip. It’s great. A place for us to focus and relax, re-charge our “batteries” and just enjoy. The view was always interesting, changing clouds, colors of the water changing, watching the changes of the other island colors. The surf was soothing to listen to and the rain never bothered us. We did the trip to Hana. Left about 9 am from here and arrived back around 10 pm. We had a very full day and saw so much. Definitely use the CD by the stereo in your car. It instructs you about many places you would not know about by just driving. We did them all! The waterfalls were very full because of the rain this week. Enjoyed breakfast on the lanai every morning and BBQ’d our dinners in the evening. We attended the Old Lahaina Luau for our anniversary dinner & enjoyed it quite a bit. We also took a day trip to Honolulu for the Arizona Memorial tour, the Bowfin submarine & the Missouri. We really needed more time and next year we will sty on Oahu for a few days then come here. But the air travel on ‘Go airlines was a breeze. Strongly recommend. Great trip. Snorkeling great right in front. 2 sea turtles loved to play every day. "Email Received: Thank you Ray and Connie. We had an amazing time in Maui and we were extremely pleased with your condo. The accommodations were excellent and you supplied everything we needed for our stay. You can't put a price on that view from the lanai. We spent quite a significant amount of time staring out into the ocean and watching the sunsets. Also, thank you for the recommendations on eating out. We enjoyed the deli, Sansei, and especially the Plantation House. The location of the condo is perfect and conveniently located to everything, yet far enough away from the populated tourist areas. My girlfriend and I are already looking forward to going back and will definitely book with you again. The info packet you provided was very helpful and made the planning of our trip much easier. "8/29/07 Email: Thanks Ray & Connie, We loved our stay at Maui! The condo was the perfect set up for us. It felt like home away from home. We cooked a couple dinners there, using the grill and ate out on the lanai during the sunset. WOW! (see pic) The first day we arrived about 7pm just as it started to get really windy and rainy (weather affects from the hurricane, which turned out to be the only bad weather we experienced). Thanks to your great directions from the airport it made the trip easy driving in the dark, stormy, unknown territory. The next day the hurricane was suppose to hit the big island, but it turned into a tropical storm and all we had in West Maui was a windy day and had to reschedule our sunset sail. All the following days we had activities everyday. I believe Andrea wrote all them down in the condo journal. The days started flying by. Each night we would relax at the condo for a sunset or gazing at the midnight sky and listen to the ocean waves crash. Then morning comes and we would have breakfast on the lanai and head off to our next activity. I think our favorite activity we did was the "Maui Stables" horse back tour east of Hana. The scenery was some of the most beautiful we have ever seen. The guide was a native Hawaiian descendant from a long line of Hawaiian chiefs. He talked of the true Hawaiian culture and history. You really felt totally secluded from the rest of world out there. Thanks again for sharing your condo with us. It made our honeymoon the ultimate experience that we will always remember! We will definitely be back! Aloha " - Andrea and Jesse Ulland, Minneapolis, MN, 08/29/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"8/13 to 8/21/07: Ray and Connie, Thank you for sharing your wonderful condo with us. The view is spectacular and the snorkeling was wonderful out there. (Just as you described) While honeymooning we enjoyed the bike ride dash down Haleakala, a beginner scuba dive, the Road to Hana (nauseating but beautiful), horseback riding in Hana, the Old Lahaina Luau, and or favorite dining experience of Mama’s Fish House. (pricey but worth it). Thanks so much for the many memories. Mahalo " - Jesse and Andrea Ulland, Minneapolis, MN, 08/21/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guestbook Comments: As we walked through the front door and saw the view out the lanai we were both in awe of the beautiful view of the ocean. We could not believe the ocean was steps away. Every morning and evening we looked out and listened to the waves. And watched the ever changing sunsets. Highlights of our wonderful vacation in Maui; Road to Hana. We used the CD and it was very helpful to know where to stop and see the sights. We stopped for a coconut break. Snorkeled in Honoloa Bay, nice calm Bay. Also snorkeled in Makena. Saw several turtles and beautiful coral reef. Haleakala National Park to see the volcano. Met Chad at Boss Frog’s and booked a cruise to Molokini and Turtle Town. We had a blast. Water’s very clear. Saw lots of fish and coral at Molokini. At Turtle Town we came across some turtles and even saw 3-5 White Tip Reef Sharks. Swan with a large turtle outside the Condo’s Sea Wall. We had dinner at Okazuya’s Deli (Good food and reasonably priced) Old Lahaina Luau. It was fun, dinner was delicious and enjoyed the entertainment. Had our 25th anniversary at Canoes. Food was very good. Tried Aloha Mixed Plate. Food was also good. Pretty busy place. Thank you for sharing your “Home Away from Home” condo with us. We celebrated our 25th anniversary and had a very wonderful vacation. Maui is beautiful. This is Paradise. We enjoyed ourselves so much we plan on returning in the near future. And of course staying in B106. We will highly recommend your condo to family and friends. Our fond memories are relaxing on the lanai and sitting on the sea wall to watch sunsets. "Guest Book Comment: We were so excited when we first walked in to see how close we were to the ocean. The condo is so nice and made it very easy to relax and get comfortable. We spent every morning out on the lanai enjoying the ocean and the breeze. One thing that we did that we suggest to all is going up to the top of Haleakala at sunset. It was breathtaking. Don’t forget some sweatshirts. We also took a trip to the Maui Ocean Center (aquarium) that was fun. I think the thing we liked the best though was just being here relaxing and watching from our back door the seat turtles and many crabs. We were here for a friend’s wedding so we spent a few daytimes at the Westin and the Fairmont. Very nice upscale hotels. Recommend going to see the pools and beaches but nothing as relaxing as the Sunset Central. Mahalo" - Brandon and Jessica Fernandez, Yuba City, CA, 08/02/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Email received: Hi, We both loved staying at your condo and especially liked the easy access to the water. Neither one of us had been to Maui during the summer vacation before, so we were kind of apprehensive about how busy and kid-filled it might be. Concerns were totally unfounded and it was never noisy due to being in the middle of the complex, rather than at either end. Parking and access from the lot was a breeze. Priotr to staying at your condo we had a unit in the condo building just to the left/south of yours (the name escapes me at the moment). Lovely condo, but the anal-retentiveness of both the owner and the management put a damper on the relaxed atmosphere we were looking for. Parking was, supposedly, strictly logged on a sign in sheet and you were supposed to pick up a permit at the front desk at 8:30 in the morning. That was it - 8:30 or nothing. No one was there on the weekend, however, and we had dive trips planned on the other days. It was unpleasant to anticipate our rental car being towed over this. The condo owners must have had either a very recent and expensive renovation or very bad experiences with renters (or both), because just about every surface was plastered with rule/admonishment stickers. There was a pool but only perilous access to the water from the main building, which made snorkeling more difficult. No beach. Having to cross through the pool area and unlocking several gates to get to the water was another minus. Wouldn't stay there again. Would stay at your place anytime! :-) Mahalo," - Sylvia Parker, Lakewood, WA, 07/18/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Email from Barbara Belford Hey Ray and Connie, We had an awesome time. A once in a lifetime experience. I forgot you wouldn't be reading your journal until you go to the condo, but I wrote you a poem in it. Our daughter raved about everything. Her surfing, the snorkeling, the condo. It was just perfect for us. Very private and relaxing, close to everything. We were only sad we couldn't eat at the deli and felt bad for them. I guess the gas leak had gone on the day before and pizza hut had the gas people out to check their lines. Then in the night the deli started on fire. They said it would be weeks before they could replace the equipment. Here is your poem! Paradise We found a slice Of Paradise In Ray and Connie's Hale. The ocean waves And sunny rays The sunsets grand finale. A launching pad For the fun we had Here in beautiful Maui. Honolus Bay And Hana Highway Spending hours on the lanai. The blessing Of de-stressing While at this Sunset Central. The sharing and the caring Has made us sentimental. Aloha and Mahalo BB " - Barbara Belford, Batavia, IL, 06/13/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Entry: Hey from Chicago ~~ Our flight leaves tonight – back to the flatland and the oppressive humidity. Thanks to Ray & Connie for this perfect condo. Just the right equipment. Just the right temperature. It is so peaceful and quiet and comfortable. Our only sadness is the absence of OZ deli due to their fire. We didn’t starve. The Farmer’s Market has good soups and salad and we loved the fish tacos at Paia fish market. I made some good tuna meals and some pasta with poke salmon and goat cheese and Greek olives. Everything we needed was here at the condo. We loved snorkeling - rented equipment from Boss Frog’s but it was pricey. Well worth it for Black Rock and Honoloa Bay and right in front of the condo. Well I could go on and on and on a miss the flight ~~ hmmm ~~ that is tempting. Thanks, the Belford’s. " - Barbara Belfords, Batavia, IL, 06/05/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Entry: Aloha! I am one of Ray and Connie’s “daughter in laws” and just finished a 10 week internship here in lovely Maui. I was working up in Kula but had the good fortune to spend my last weekend in their condo. Ray & Connie have a ton of time, energy, dollars, & love into this place and it really shows. One of the most enjoyable beaches I found myself returning to each weekend was Po'olenalena or Makena Surf Beach in South Maui. It’s not widely known so it was never crowded. It’s got a nice sandy bottom, great for swimming & the big perk is that when the surf is low and he water clear you can see turtles swimming by sitting on the beach. If you like turtles this is the place to swim with them. There are usually 3-5 at each little shallow lava outcropping and then more with lots of fish and coral at the big lava point at the Southern point of the beach. Touching turtles is not allowed. To get there head toward Makena on HWY 31. Once you get to Wailea (where the hwy ends and heads toward the coast at the Grand Wailea) watch your odometer & at two miles there’s a blue shoreline access sign and small parking (holds 8 cars on the ocean side) It’s right in the middle of Makena Surf condos. There’s an unlocked gate you go through and follow the sidewalk down to the beach. There is only a beach shower, no public bathrooms. If the lot is full (it never was on the several times I went) you can park at the main Po’olenalena Beach lot a bit North. I have seen locals camp there, so might have restrooms. The beaches connect so you can park there and walk to Makena Surf. Bit of a trek from this condo but worth it if you love turtles. Make sure the surf is calm. Enjoy your time in paradise. "Guest Book Comment: The moment we walked in and saw the view were both breathless. This was our first trip to Hawaii and it was more beautiful than we ever thought. Thank you for the CD for the Road to Hana. It took 10 hours to get all the way through. Yes we stopped at every spot. The total trip was 13 hours. Mama’s Fish House is a must! Pricey, but well worth every penny. The zip lines were a blast. If you have time it is something that is really awesome. Old Lahaina Luau was amazing. Thank you so much for opening your home so we could enjoy or stay in Maui." - Darlene & Maia Baxley, Brea, CA, 05/30/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Email Comment: Dear Ray & Connie, Our trip to Maui was unbelievably wonderful and the major reason was that we had a stunning "home away from home" in Sunset Central. The condo was everything you said it would be and MORE. Not only did the sunsets defy description, but the memory of early morning (06:30) juice/roll on the lanai as the rising sun shone on Moloka'i and the crest of the breaking waves still lifts my spirits every day. The deli was absolutly the BEST - awesome Korean BBQ chicken. On our second night, we BBQ'ed beef tenderloin steak accompained by baked potatoes, cool green salad, and our favorite White Zinfandel as the sun went down over the horizon. Seldom in my life have I experienced anything as beautiful and breathtaking (not to mention good in the tummy). It was an awesome experience that was repeated constantly during the week. Oh...forgot to mention the sounds of IZ and Hawaiian music drifting from the stereo. I went snorkling almost every day...the reef outside the condo was FULL of fish and an unknown undersea world. We also took your advice and went to the beaches on the north side of the island (Honolua and ???) - WHAT INCREDIBLE SNORKLING!!!! We did so many other things (Luau, Warren & Annabelle's, pineapple plantation, Haleakala, old Lahina town (Moose Magilicuttys, Kimo's, Canoes for jazz!!) that I won't bore you with the detail but suffice to say our experience was such that I can hear the Islands calling us back. We never did hear from the individual that was considering renting at the end of the month but if he chose not to believe me, it was his loss. We would have given him a glowing report on the outstanding attriubutes of Sunset Central. Sleeping was not a problem for us at all although the evening did turn a little warm a couple nights. We just turned on the auxilary fan on the night table and zzzzzz........ We will be MORE than happy to give a glowing recomendation to anyone about your beautiful condo - please feel free to use us as a reference. Pat and I are so grateful that you shared your wonderful condo and piece of paradise with us. We tried to take care of it as if it were our own because we truly want to return. Thank you for the deposit refund. The detail that you put into taking care of your guests, even down to the M&M's, make for an experience that could not be achieved at ANY high priced hotel. You are the consumate hosts. The joy of our honeymoon in Hawaii will provide us with memories that will last us for many years and Sunset Central will be at the core of those memories. Mahalo, Don & Pat Dias P.S. Here's a couple pictures of one of our activities - I may grow old but I refuse to grow up!" - Don & Pat Dias, Half Moon Bay, CA, 05/29/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments: From the moment we opened the door until we reluctantly closed that door this place and our time here has been awesome. We love the deli and what wonderful friendly people. We loved Warren and Annabelle’s magic show and everyone should go. Old Lahaina Luau was superb. Us old ones decided getting up at “0” dark hundred to trek up to Haleakala was not for us but we did go during the day and it was incredible. We also took a surfing lesson and nearly killed us both & reminded us that our youth has passed us by but we loved it even though we are moaning and groaning. Sunsets on the lanai are fabulous and we dined there for several meals. The Pineapple Tour provided us with great fruit while we were here. Don has snorkeled several times but that is not my bag so the pool was great. Snorkeling was great at the North Shore beaches just as Ray said. Sat/Sun 3-6 pm cocktails at Canoe’s listening to jazz was fun but drinks are pricey. We loved Moose McGillycuddy’s in Lahaina for lunch/dinner/drinks. Ray & Connie bless you for opening up your condo for others to enjoy the wonder of Maui. We will be back and also tell others what an experience it is here. Mahalo" - Don and Pat Dias, Half Moon Bay, CA, 05/20/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Guest Book Comments. We had a wonderful first stay here B106 – beautiful surroundings! The ocean sounds are so relaxing – enjoyed many meals on the lanai watching sunsets. Had a great dinner at Mala. Saw a mom & her calf on our whale watching adventure. Survived biking down Haleakala. We hope to be back! "4/27/07 Guest Book Entry Ray and Connie, Thanks so much for sharing your slice of Paradise with us. We had a wonderful time. We really didn’t have to go far to enjoy the Sunsets, rainbows and water. One find we found was a small local restaurant in Kahalui called Da Kitchen. We tried various items on the menu and everything was great. (And plentiful) It is located on 32 North of Dairy Rd., not far from the airport. Also thanks for the diligent efforts to have everything perfect for us. We greatly appreciate it!! "4/22/07 Guest Book Entry Aloha! Beautiful Peaceful place. We saw whales. What a joy. Had some rain and sun mixed. Of course it is beautiful today as we leave. We also enjoyed the little beach, all the neat little shells and a trip to Hana. Tedeschi Winery and the Aquarium were great. "4/4/07 Guest Book Entry Aloha! We’ve had a great week in a fantastic place. Even though one of us came here sick, we quickly learned that a nasty head cold in paradise is better than at work. We hiked the waterfall above Ohe’o Gulch. A great cap to a trip to Hana. A snorkeling trip to Lanai with Capt. Steve’s went well but wild life right here is as good as it gets. The whales were incredible and we also saw flying fish, turtles and a monk seal right from the Lanai. Mama’s Fish House was excellent but we had more fun, great food and better value at Hula Grill. We think we found a gem in Lokelani and a Diamond in B106. Thanks so much, Cynthia and Mike, Sacramento PS: The Okazuya Deli is great. "AS YOU KNOW WE HAVE STAYED IN YOUR CONDO 60 DAYS FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS. THE NEW MIRRORED WALL GIVES "SUNSET CENTRAL" A FEELING OF OPENESS. WE ESPECIALLY ENJOYED THE NEW LANAI. "Email: Thank you Ray & Connie for letting us share your home away from home. It was such a relaxing and fun trip for us. We are not going to wait as long for our next trip to Maui. The weather finally came where we could take some pics as the clouds and rain were at the beginning of our week at your place. Met some other people at the Westin that had also rented at Lokelani, a 2 bedroom. Did get a chance to go upstairs to see a 2-bedroon for sale, very nice and a great view, but not on the ground floor. We did some sightseeing had great food, wine and Mai Tai's. Shopping is always great. Watched the sunset a few times, and just enjoyed being in such a wonderful place. Thank you again, Paul & Vicki Daggett" - Paul & Vicki Daggett, Albany, Oregon, 03/24/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"3/20/07 Guest Book Entry Ray and Connie – Mahalo! We were so comfortable in your great condo that it felt like home. Of course, we don’t see too many turtles or spouting whales in Colorado. Our visit to Maui was so relaxing and fun! Hana HWY was a real “trip” and your DVD was very interesting. The Hawaiian CD was great in the car and really put us in the mood. The ride North to Kapalua was beautiful. Mike had a difficult time leaving the golf club. Our friends from AZ showed us Makena Beach which was outrageous and took us to Warren & Annabelle’s Magic Nightclub. What a super show. We ate at the Deli, Canoes, Kimos and Aloha Mixed Plate. Pacific Whale foundation Cruise was a fun Day. Our favorite things were eating at home and eating Star Market Sushi on the Lanai. We couldn’t believe all the whales constantly swimming by. Incredible. Come see us at Dolphin Watch in SC. We know you’ll love it. Mike and Terry Evans, Fort Collins, CO " - Mike and Terry Evans, Fort Collins, CO, 03/20/07( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"3/17/07 Guest Book Entry Ray & Connie, We had a wonderful time at Sunset Central. Experienced some rain early in the week but very nice past few days. The décor of your Hawaiian home is delightful and very clean. The view from your lanai is to die for! The Okazuya deli is terrific. We also went to Bubba Gump for lunch. Good food and fun. Thank you again for the Hawaiian hospitality. We plan to return to Sunset Central as do so many others. "Hi Ray We loved the condo! What a beautiful spot. We especially enjoyed having our coffee on the Lanai. We really enjoyed walking out on the grass and the beach from your condo. We could even spot the occasional whale in the distance. Thank you Ellen and Brian Walsh per phone 1/16/06 We were always walking out to the sea wall. We loved the ground floor condo and how quiet it was. We just came over from a large complex with villas. Next time we come we will give you a shout. "1/10/07 Guest Book Entry, This is the 8th year they have stayed for 60 days Aloha Ray and Connie, Happy to be back. We love the improvements, the lanai, living room, bedroom all look so nice. We really enjoy staying in your condo. Mahalo to you for sharing. Weather was perfect. Hot and windy during the day and cool at night. Great sleeping!! Watched the moon over the ocean several nights. Beautiful. We did several things this trip. Our favorite was “Warren and Annabelle’s magic”. It was so much fun. Very entertaining. We would recommend it. Had lunch (again) with the Maui Culinary Academy Class Act Restaurant. Again we were not disappointed. Good food. Fun. Went to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center several times. Saw Kris Kristopherson concert. Again we went to the Keali-I Recital Concert. Still outstanding. His show is so entertaining. Saw the “Face of America Hawaii” Volcanoes National Parks. Entertainers were Ledward Ka’apana. Outstanding slack key guitar player and Keali’I also played and sang. Great Hula show. Went to the Ritz Carlton for “Whale Quest”. 3 day seminar. We were only able to go one day but next year plan on attending all 3 days. About the study of whales. Very Interesting. Went to the Makawao Steak House “Tea Room” for lunch “Tearoom Style!!” Had dinner several times at the Fish and Poi Restaurant. Good and Reasonable. "12/28/06 Guest Book Entry, Aloha! This is one of the most memorable vacations we have ever taken! Thank you so much for opening your home to us! We loved sleeping out in the living room, so we could hear the ocean at night and it was amazing waking up to the ocean also. The snorkeling at mile marker 14 was outrageous. My Dad even swam with a turtle. This was one of our favorite activities while in Maui. We also greatly enjoyed the sunsets right outside of our back door! This condo and Maui are lovely and we will definitely be back. From, the Botts" - The Botts, Chanhassen, MN, 12/28/06( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Ray and Connie Walters, owners of Sunset Central, came back to vacation and work on the condo. Believe it or not we did not eat out once for one dinner in 10 days. We did watch the sunsets all 10 days from our lanai. It is easy to just hang out. Next time we go we are promising ourselves to get out and try some new restaurants for dinner. As is becoming typical we did not get as much done as we hoped while here but again we are leaving he condo in a nicer condition that it has ever been. The comments in the guest book make us feel unbelievably good. This really is a special place. My highlight was two great beach dives. We can’t wait to get back here, over four months from now. "Comment left in condo Guest Book: On the morning of Dec. 4, 6 AM, Lavonne wakened me and lead me out onto the lanai. It was a midnight dark sky. We stood embraced and watched a large silvery moon slide down onto the horizon and vanish. Wow! Talk about romantic! We have seen sunsets throughout the years but never a moon set. I would recommend that everyone se a moon set once in their lifetime. So much to see – so many places to eat – so little time, and we could have been content to spend the week on the lanai with take out from the deli. Just watching the waves roll in is so relaxing. Add the nice music of your CD’s, a glass of wine and how could it be more perfect. We chose restaurants based on their view. Breakfast was great at the Plantation House in Kapalua and waited a short time to get a premium table. Also a nice meal at Longhi’s in Lahaina. Lunch was spectacular a Mama’s Fish House. Food was different and beautifully served. The tropical floral arrangements were so unusual – scenery so great and the kite boarders an added attraction. The girls at Ulalena suggested Kimo’s for dinner. The fish was excellent and it was a great place to watch the sunset. The tiki torches as it got dark added to the tropical feel. It’s been a wonderful week, our first in Hawaii together. Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful place with us. Ted and Lavonne Walters Yep you are right. We will recommend your place to everyone we know. Hopefully, some of the rest of our family will be enjoying your place in the future. Your friends, The Peltiers Comments left in Condo guest Book: Wow! Maui is beautiful! This was our first time here and we are on our honeymoon! What a place to spend this time together. Your condo is amazing. We loved waking up in the morning right on the water where we would drink our coffee and read our morning devotionals! We had both rainy weather and sun on our stay, but they were both beautiful! Also, we took the helicopter ride and booked it through Expedia. This was amazing. A must see for everyone. "My family just returned form a wonderful ten days at Sunset Central. Words can not express this piece of paradise’s beauty. Its not often you find a home away form home. The beach, pool and grass were great playgrounds for our two year old. We didn’t want to leave for dinner for fear of missing the awesome sunsets. Thank you for thinking of the little things, it was nice not to worry about cleaning supplies, beach towels, snorkeling gear, and sand toys. You can’t go wrong with a vacation in Sunset Central. Angela Allmon Comments left in Condo Guest Book: WOW! What an adventure. 10 wonderful days as a family in paradise. B-106 is a magical place. We enjoyed every dinner on the patio. Oden keeps asking to have “Corndogs outside”. We ventured to Hana and loved it. We survived the drive with a 2 year old. The CD was a great help. We took the plantation tour and it was very informative and the restaurant was excellent. There is a great beach in Lahaina past all the shops. Great for kids. Thank you, Justin, Angela and Oden " - Angela & Justin Allmon, Auburn, Ca, 11/11/06( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Condensed email received 11/9/06: Just a note to say that our trip to Hawaii was wonderful, and it was a delight to stay in your beautiful condo. Both Lori and I (and her daughter) were so pleased! It's lovely, and so close to the water. What a beautiful way to wake up in the morning -first by the sound of the ocean waves and they were intense!) and then only a moment later by a glance toward the door. That is a rare treat for us mainlanders... " - Eileen Bird, Hebron, KY, 11/09/06( HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"Email 10/26/06 titled Great Condo! Paradise! Ray, Just a quick note to let you know how much we're enjoying your condo. It exceeds all our expectations! We have trouble tearing ourselves away from the lanai to do anything else but relax and enjoy the view. Everything has been great...no issues at all. When we arrived, there was no beach at all at the end of the stairs. Instead, it looked like a precarious climb down over slick rocks. Over the course the week, the situation has improved magically! Today, there's a great sand beach right at the bottom of the ramp. Amazing. I'm attaching a photo for you to see. Today is just perfect weather...sunny and a light breeze. Only one little spell of rain this week. Thanks again for the great spot. -Carl P.S. The internet access is much appreciated, as well! Comments left in the condo Guest book: B-106 is as close to paradise as one can get! Mahalo! Thanks for your hard work. The tile on the lanai and painting look great. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay in your condo and found it hard to justify ever leaving to do anything else. A few of our favorites. • The Deli is great! • Sansei Sushi is fantastic. We went there twice. Visit them at their new location next to the Honolua store in Kapalua. Go before they open for dinner at 5:30 and enjoy 25% off of everything you order from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. • Seeing turtles right off the lanai wall. • Swimming at the ever changing beach in front of Lokelani. • Sunsets over lanai – incredible! Thanks for making our stay so easy and enjoyable by providing all the supplies and toys like boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkels etc. For those of you new to Maui the book, “Maui Revealed – The Ultimate Guide Book” by Andrew Doughty is the best. Oh and thanks for the CD that narrates the Road to Hana. That worked well and is recommended for all making that trip. (find it next to stereo in living room) We hope to be back soon to further enjoy this wonderful oasis from the crazy world we normally live in. Hanh and Tom Comments left in Condo Guest Book: It has been a wonderful week here in Maui. We definitely got what we were looking for. A week of rest and relaxation, adventure, and beauty. We even got the excitement and terror of an earthquake. Who knew? We would come from California and get an earthquake here. It was great to spend time relaxing on the beach, snorkeling for turtles, swimming under a waterfall in Hana, having dinner while enjoying the sunset and then come “home” to this beautiful condo!
