 "The Craig cousins converged on Claus Haus from Kentucky, North Carolina and Texas. It was a great place for a large group. The kids played in the game room while the adults visited in the main room upstairs or on the deck overlooking the cove. The kids had great luck fishing off the docks (bread was the bait of choice) and the lake was great for boating and tubing. "We had family visiting from Germany and stayed at the Claus Haus from 8-14 to 8-23-06. We all had a wonderful time and room enough for everybody. The water was great and we went swimming daily for hours and had our early morning and late evening walks. We enjoyed watching the deer, chipmunks and birds. Saturday we had a ball at Fast Freddy's (with good food, cold beer and a great live band). "We stayed a week over the 4th and had a great time. Plan on visiting the fireworks...can only hear them from the house. Plan on cooking, lots of equiptment in house. Each family had their own floor. We have done a reunion for many years and this house was the best! Bring an umbrella for the swimming platform. You gotta get a group picture jumping from the bridge! Have lunch at the marina by boat. Visit the museum of Appalachia and have lunch in their cafe if it rains. We have always gone to different places and this is the first time we will probably return!
